Those are looking great man. Are you wearing them year round?
Yep! I wore them through last summer, it was surprisingly comfortable, though at the time they were the only pair in rotation. Now I've got a second pair in rotation so they're not seeing as much wear.

Left Field 23oz Greaser (more pics in LF thread)

So it's that time again... time for a 23oz update!
At this point I think they've had 3 or 4 machine washes.

Congrats to everyone who was in on that!
Christian, any plans to run another for something different anytime soon?

PART 2
My dad looking all pensive on the dock...probably thinking about what fly to use next time he goes fishing.

That afternoon we headed to my uncle's house where he'd been clearing a ton of dead trees from his land.
76480021 by GregoryPfaff, on Flickr
He lost a lot of trees after the drought a few years ago. He had a nice deal arranged with a guy in town to clear it all for free if the guy kept the wood.

This one had a huge bee hive inside when it fell.

After counting the rings on this one, it was nearly 100 years old.
76480023 by GregoryPfaff, on Flickr
I couldn't resist shooting this worn out Mercury on the edge of the woods.

After we finished our tour of the tree clearing operation, my dad, uncle, and I headed to my grandmother's for some coffee.
76480013 by GregoryPfaff, on Flickr
After coffee, we disbanded and headed home. Once back at the lake house I continued to confuse my dad by taking more photos of my sweatpants...

Dad: "Greg, why are you taking photos of your pants"
Me: "There's people on the internet who are interested."
Dad: "....."
end awkward conversation

THE END
Awesome pictures! Portra is a fantastic film, I haven't tried the fuji though. Sweats are looking good too, can't wait to see everyone's final pics.

Thanks guys!
@FormulaPfaff, isn't their chainstitch embroidery nuts? The eagle is great. I have things I would love to have them do for me. I'm sure you'll come up with something cool.
My thought on the chain stitching to just order a jacket and tell them to go wild, I'm sure they could come up with some cool stuff too!

Wow, that's awesome! With all that on you'll have to keep wearing them!

^ Would love to see some eve pics of yours too chris especially seeing how many haven't gotten a ton of wear yet! Thats also a comment to you Satchel!
I'll try to get some pictures soon, I just realized it's been awhile.

So decided to wait for a Noreastern to hit before I took some fade picts of the 23 oz's.
Damn, looking good! This fabric is just wonderful. Have they been washed?
2 -
oh also just took the sweats out of the dryer, will get some pics up tomorrow if the sun is out. decided i will be washing every other week until the end of the contest.
also just decided to throw the 23s in the washer after my sweats were dry. they are currently drying on my radiator and hope to finally post some fit pics/evo pics of them tomorrow just realized I never ended up posting any! even though they are no where near where chris' pair are at I'm excited to see how much more they will start shedding the indigo post wash, these are pretty damn stubborn
Can't wait to see how other people are doing with the 23s!

These have to be some of the worst "jeans" I've seen in a long time.
Thanks for the golden material, KickStarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jeffcaballero/andres-handmade-raw-denim-with-functional-leather?ref=category
they're trying to make "sock leg" a thing I guess
or it's kind of like when white girls tuck their pants in their socks?

@allt not sure if this is common info but Momotaro and Collect are sister co's so a lot of times can be the same or very similar fabric.
@copper in sewing, blue leather colab(two guys fishing in a canoe on one of the many lakes of Minnesota) label with black in ink, Collect indigo warp/black weft. Glad to have finally have got all the details worked out at and in sewing.
Yeah, I'm aware! One of the things that made those 23oz so irresistible to me.

Bottom line, given that these won't be made anymore according to Christian, if you're a fan of super thick denim and if they have your size still, you should definitely consider getting a pair.
Absolutely. I'd also recommend them to anyone that likes that kind of shades of blue type fading that Momotaros are famous for. This is a truly wonderful fabric.

Damn, that really sucks about the break in! I hope everything turns out alright for you guys.

Thanks, man! You may have swayed me over to the 23oz. Do you have other greasers? Do the 23 oz fit the same?
I don't actually have any more greasers (shame) but I had a pair of Chelseas previously and the measurements given on the website matched exactly for both pairs.

Ha, thanks! Yeah, I kind of went shoe crazy. There's a handful I need to get rid of because they don't fit well or I don't wear very often.
I got the 13 oz Cones first (unhemmed) to dial in my size, and I either double or triple cuff them, depending on my shoes. Then, I ordered the Kurokis with a hem, and they're perfect. The hem-job is perfect, too. I'll send the Cones back at some point for a hem.
As far as the 23 oz-ers, is there any info on how much (or if) they stretch? I'm only on page 43 of the thread. I'm wondering if TTS or +1 is the way to go on those. For me, a 36 is TTS.
I went TTS on the 23s, and as far as I can tell they don't stretch much. I just washed them and they measure 31" in the waist, which is the size I ordered. They do feel like they're a bit tighter at the moment than they usually are, though.
Also, if I can jump in here and mention that the double felled inseam is one of my favorite details on LF's jeans because I see so few other brands doing it, but for some reason it has been the only source of failure on my 23s, I guess because of the weight of the fabric. I've had to repair the inseam once. Just something to consider if you plan on rocking a cuff.

@LeftField - I'm thinking about getting a winter pair of greasers, either the 17oz or the 23oz. I own several pairs of greasers already (which I love!), do both the 17oz and 23oz size the same as other greasers? It looks that way on the measurement charts, but I just wanted to check.
Any thoughts on the relative merits of the 17 and the 23? Of course, one is heavier than the other, but other than that?
Just my two cents, the 23oz is the second most beautiful fabric I've ever seen. It's pretty stubborn to get to white, but it seems to react well to semi-frequent washing, like the momotaro vintage label stuff. Between the cone 17 and the collect 23 I'd go with the collect, but only because I already did

Ergh, meant to upvote. That's some crazy fading man, loving the elbow combs.
no worries, it happens! I guess what they say about Cone is true, it gets better and better with washes.

I finally got around to taking some pictures of my supply jacket after over 2 years of regular wear. This is the original Supply Jacket, of the 14oz white line Cone. First wash was around 1 year, washed around every 3 months after that, so 4-5 machine washes at this point.
As always I've got a few detail shots if anyone wants to see them.
