Does anyone happen to have the wash instructions for the SM1-AK?  The tag was annoying so I cut off the stitches holding it on and put it somewhere for safe keeping.  Apparently so safe I can't find it anymore..

this is not the most recent season fwiw

  2. I've got one from the previous run and I haven't found it to click clack or to rest on the nose. The long zipper adds the weight needed to keep it sitting on your neck if it's unzipped fully. To me it captures Acronym at its best: remarkably aggressive styling justified by actual functionality. Like the flak pocket on the J1A or the tube hood on the J43A.

That said, of all the Acronym garments I've owned, it's the one I felt silliest paying full price for given what it is, let alone resale market prices.

I don't even know what I copped, went through payment but didn't get any confirmation email....

If it submitted to paypal you're probably good. I also got a 503 on the success page, just got the confirmation now, fifteen minutes later

  4. "Live" is a strong word :) 503s everywhere

edit: ah fuck in my haste I got black/silver instead of olive/silver, if anyone wants to trade hmu

edit edit: this is my first time really looking at the pieces, the J16 is really cool and so is the liner, and I'm pleasantly surprised that the pants are less than $1000. If they're really doing P30A-E this season that's going to be a grail all-weather pant. Good job E & co :)

J16 is alpha is actually really sick, the ligther color shows off the paneling. Is the stretch goretex weatherproof? If I didnt have a J1A I'd be really tempted!

I live UK and got stung £400 for the P38-GT drop. I returned to Acronym, filled out the form to my countries tax offices. Still haven’t heard anything.

I know this is US and not UK, but when I asked UPS it said it would take them about a year to refund duties...

  6. I spray it with grangers (as if it were a shell) and it reactivates the fuck out of the water resistance. My Acronym DS pieces do pill slightly over time but I think that's gonna happen either way.

  7. Sooo I've got a very old Veilance jacket from when I was young and foolish and didn't know you have to wash Goretex often, and predictably it's terribly delaminated, especially on the upper back. Wondering, besides being ugly, and I guess making it easier to accidentally rip the membrane, what are the downsides of delamination? I had assumed that waterproofing goes, but I've been in downpours and even worn it into the shower. It wets out, but I'm still totally dry after? Weird, right?

Finally popping my cherry on these boards lol. Can anyone with a J27-GT in size S fill me in on the fit/sizing? I had a J47-GT in S and I kinda swam in it without a liner, with unflattering bunching in the sleeves that put me off enough to sell it (I'm 5'8/172cm and around 150lb/68kg). According to the mothersite the shoulder and sleeve measurements on the J27 are shorter by a few cm, but it's a totally different fitblock so I'm not sure if it alleviates my issue with the J47.

I don't want to tell you what you don't know, but your measurements sound exactly right for size S. Is it possible you're unfamiliar with how it's supposed to fit? can you post some pics?

it's not obvious that the shell is Infinium?

Huh, I assumed it was the same windstopper as on the J58-WS. I didn't even notice it was Infinium until this post. I guess that's another notch in the "goretex marketing is too confusing" column

Would hope now that some of the dust has settled around the Windstopper re-brand and Shake-Dry becoming it's own thing that the nomenclature is standardized (re: both Gore and ACR). Any new -WS piece is Infinium-membrane'd (my understanding). Gore is still doing a lot of other things under the Infinium-umbrella, making it somewhat hard to know what you're getting based on copy only....

Yeah... I've got a J83-WS, and while the GTX Pro is obvious, I wouldn't have known it had anything to do with infinium until this discussion :?

  11. acrnm will refund you the retail price but getting back the tax money from the broker is going to be a pain in the ass and take a long time, if it's anything like the US :(

edit: oh you mean if you refuse the package. I don't know! Email them, I'd be curious to hear

That's what I thought. Doesn't help much to reference a sales performance from two years ago as an answer to a current-day question.

That being said, I did not recall the S8 going for that amount -- truly wild. By that logic it makes little sense as to why the latest shirt would retail for substantially less, other than perhaps not being made in the EU?

    Here's another datapoint

edit: date on that is SS18

  13. Looks like adding item to cart doesn't save your spot anymore. I tried to buy P30A from the mothersite, but by the time the checkout page loaded, it was gone.

I'm about to email them to volunteer to help step up their web hosting game, they got 503s like crazy coming off that site

  14. Yeah idk not feeling it. Water resistant? So if you get caught out in the rain without a jacket, 60% of your upper body stays dry-ish? A windproof… tee shirt? Why not make windproof socks while you’re at it? DS is one of my favorite fabrics, for slim pants with freedom of movement (like P10s) and for more obscure uses like weightlifting (durable, low friction, stretchy). But I just don’t see it in a tee. Hard to imagine anything supplanting merino, as far as function goes.

YMMV I guess. More for you :)
