Agree on the J46, on the J63A enough is going on that it comes off alright to me. I checked it out in store, it's definitely not the same fabric as PB, feels less soft/smooth and more windstopper-ish

Had J47TS-GT in S in my cart, but then I was like... do I need this? I already have a J1A-GT? and I removed it from my cart. Is this what it is to become an adult?

Quality is not durability, and tbh i'm fine with Acronym doing a comparatively fragile piece in an experimental fabric now and then. It's not like they are switching everything to be polartec alpha, he's still releasing a heavy goretex jacket and xpac bags. source on polartec alpha not being durable? I'm not clear on how that white jacket could be polartec alpha, are you sure? It looks like alpha is a fleece kind of fabric, which is not the texture I'm seeing in the promo pics? At the very least it doesn't look like alpha is the outward facing layer which should improve durability quite a bit?

It's totally fair to be critical of Acronym using fabrics that damage easily, since their whole vibe is about function and mobility and durability. But when you say "fast fashion" you're comparing them to companies that are filling up landfills with shitty throwaway clothing, which is unfair imo. Fast fashion is about huge volume, low prices, low quality. Even the fragile Acronym pieces like the foil bags depreciate little and often make their way through three owners before being retired. And obviously Acronym is not high volume low price there's tons of well-made-but-not-durable clothing in menswear and high fashion all around, but you wouldn't compare that to Zara.

I'm getting to the culling phase of my pursuit of Acronym, where I've figured out which stuff I'm into and am trying to shrink my collection to the core essentials. Listing here for a bit first before grailed. Sorry the prices are all over the place; I'm generally trying to make back what I paid or the current market value, whichever is lower. See if you can guess which ones I bought from retail or community members, vs which ones I gave up and shelled out to scalpers for All with bags, spec sheet, jacketsling, might be missing non-logo tape on the jackets Sorry the photos are all wrinkled, they've been packed in storage. Happy to take more photos Not really looking for trades, but I guess if you have a 2018 olive 3A-3TS or a P30-DS, I'd like to hear about it. Open to offers as well these prices are all pre-fee but I'll cover shipping in CONUS WTS J43A-GT (S) $2500 - 7/10 kills me to let this go but I can't justify two Acronym hardshells. Some aesthetic scratches on the interior backing and you should get a professional to re-press some of the tape, but no actual damage. 3A-3TS Black Foil $1000 - 9/10 used this two or three times GT-J34 (S) Black $1600 - 8/10 didn't even know this came in black until I bought it. Some wear on the zippers but generally excellent condition P23TS-CH (M) Black $950 - 8/10 little bit of fading, alas I'm definitely a size S... J62-PB (S) $1000 - 9/10 wore this twice, sick jacket but too slim for me through the shoulders P25H-DS (S) $1500 - 9/10 worn two or three times, amazingly comfortable Vapormax Tee (S) Black $90 - 10/10, never worn, I actually have no idea what this retailed for but would be willing to sell for retail if it's less than this Thanks for looking!!

Wish the dude would just produce more volume and lower prices, but I prefer higher prices and longer sitting stock over the last few seasons. It's ass that the prices are so high, but the alternative is either (A) shit sells out so fast that you can't even look at what you're buying or (B) you buy at the same prices (or higher) from resellers and worry about fakes and scams.

Hey all, I managed to purchase a vanilla J1A-GT, so now I'm looking to sell the GTV. Sick jacket, I just wish they had added an inner jacketsling. Listing here before I take it to grailed, of course selling at break-even price, not trying to scalp anyone. Extensive pics available here, it's only been worn for perhaps 30 seconds total, comes with everything, 10/10 etc. Price is $1950.34 sale price + $182.55 duties + shipping and fees, which is $2196.88 and fees.

FYI I took a lot of detailed photos of both J1A-GT and J1A-GTV, to help with future LC. They are more different than I would have expected: the GTV has these mysterious velcro tabs on the upper arm, the collar/hood is different, and the dimensions of various panels are a bit different all around. You can see them here: https://imgur.com/a/M7cYMhY https://imgur.com/a/vy3K487

IC on a J1A-GTV in S. Brand new, never worn outside, just tried on. I'm on the fence about it, unfortunately it doesn't have an inner jacket sling which is my favorite feature :(((( I'm wondering if anyone has other jackets in the J1A pattern that they'd be interested in trading. Message me!

yeah and also you can don and doff the jacket without taking it off, even put it on with only one hand. Definitely looks cooler external though.

I just got the J1A-GTV, just 4 days after ordering. Some quick thoughts: I was unsure about the color, but as expected, when I took it out of the box and tried it on I loved it. This is kinda why I'm willing to buy Acronym on faith... whenever I've been on the fence, I've always ended up pleased. It might be true that the 2.5L Goretex quieter or tents out less, but if so it's not by enough to matter. Still feels like a rigid crinkly jacket. It's been awhile since I had a J1A-GT but the fit feels the same if not slightly slimmer. The interior feels totally different from 3L... it's much less slippery. They sent me a free Vapormax tee, awesome There are no inner jacketsling hooks. Fuck me. I wonder if it's because of the backer material, or if they're fully committed to external jacket slings only from now on? Despite how awesome the jacket is I'm probably going to end up selling or trading it because of this... the inner jacketsling is the one gimmick I absolutely love

I grabbed a J1A-GTV. Really hope that unlike the PL it has internal jacketsling loops.

If you're in the US you don't actually have to pay duties on the shoes because they're under $800.

That's nuts, what season was that? Maybe the "paclite" is totally different? I can't find any hard evidence that there are multiple versions of Paclite, but the J1A-GTPL is vastly less rigid than the pro shell on both my J43A and my Veilance monitor.

I'm going to be listing my J1A-GTPL in S on grailed soon. Sick jacket but I've too many light raincoats. I'm trying to sell it at net-0 with shipping/duties/imports. If anyone wants to get at it before I list it, send me a PM. It's probably like $2600 all in but I'll have a specific number when I get home. EDIT: sorry I'm high, I forgot I successfully switched the duty code. Total is $2,102.27 plus fees and shipping. Jacket was $1,959.85, duties were $142.42. with fees and all, probably about $2,250.

I hear you all on price, but I fear the reality is we're not going to be seeing Acronym Goretex Pro jackets going for less than $2,500 anymore. So IMO, although worries about "Acronym inflation" are fair, complaints about this specific jacket's price relative to what you're used to paying for e.g. the J1A-GT are misguided. So, putting price aside, I'm gonna be the outlier and say the J1A-GTPL is great. it's the first paclite jacket I've owned, and I really like the drape. I've got a J43A-GT and while it's sick, it definitely tents out if I sit down or even lean a bit because GTX Pro is so rigid. This is much more like normal fabric. Dunno what you guys mean about feeling cheap, I'm not getting that vibe at all, though it's much lighter in texture. Feels like halfway between the J1A-GT and what I imagine a J1A-WS would feel like. And the color blocking is great. Also, while Acronym has made some great jackets, the J1A is really just... something else. As for performance, we'll have to see when the rain comes... my understanding is that they've done a few iterations of paclite and it's improved since the first cuts, but I don't have anything to compare it to. The lack of internal jacket sling loops is a real bummer. Of all the neat gimmicks and features Acronym has, I've found the jacket sling setup far and away the most useful. Overall, I'm not sure whether to keep it. I've a GT-J34 in the mail and I'm going to sell one of the two, so I guess I'll decide when that arrives.

Whew I got ahold of the J1A in S, those went fast. Never owned paclite so I'm curious to see how it compares to the rest of the goretex lineup.
