  1. Thanks Aho!  I got a bit confused with all the talk a couple months ago, and then seeing them in the SS14 catalog.  I thought maybe they were separate releases.

  2. The WWII model from the new catalog looks pretty great.  Did they release this in 2013 as well?  Or has it been a couple years??  Sorry if this is an eye rolling-inducing question.

They said that most of their items have been taken.  So, there were probably multiple dickheads!  Terrible.  I can't imagine waking up to seeing my shop looted like this.  Hopefully denim thieves aren't treated well in prison!

  4. I believe I recall Jon saying that Kapital's jeans are tagged per their pre-shunk measurements.  Then, they are shrunk at the factory.  So, it's basically the opposite of vanity-sized.  Not sure why they do this, but I think it's the case.  Size up!

  5. The thing is though, is that the vast majority of brands using loopwheeled fabric are also those that are obsessed with quality construction.  So, I think what you are experiencing has more to do with handling the best of the best in terms of construction.  If these same brands use fabric made from high quality cotton on more modern circular knitters, the difference will be absolutely negligible.  The historical aspect is cool, but unless we witness the manufacturing process, we don't know for sure what the hell they're being produced on.

Of course you'll see fades, even if the weft is dyed.  The fading results in the undyed core of the yarn making an appearance.  Unless it is dyed through the core, or a special "no-fade" dye is used, you'll see fades per usual.  Look to the PBJ 007 for example.  It's not black, but the principle is the same.  The weft is completely irrelevant to whether there is any fading.  If you look at the S5000s with the colored wefts from 2010, these colors do not come through with fading.  But, the Rainbow Okis from Sugarcane fade to rainbow colors on the warp.  It all has to do with the what is going on in the core of the warp.  The weft is only made visible through the small gaps in the weave, or if you have a cuff.
