  1. I have a question and was hoping some of the boot experts here could help me out.

The job that I'm starting in the next few months requires that I wear a steel toe boot that meets OSHA standards. Initially this was not a problem because Baker's had a steel toe option when customizing a pair of Bounty Hunters. However, I spoke with them today and was informed that White's will not put a steel toe on the Semi-Dress last. If I want to stick with White's, the folks at Baker's say my current options are Smoke Jumpers or Packers.

Basically, does anyone here have any suggestions for boots with a steel toe. I want something that I can also wear casually, that's what attracted me to the Bounty Hunters. I really wasn't looking for a huge 8 to 12 inch boot, but I'm afraid that's all White's has to offer.

Feel free to PM me, as I don't want to clutter up the thread.

  2. Ive got whitetitis. anyone knows the cure? I know one. moar boots.

You should just try wearing the boots you have. You've posted pics of some beautiful boots... It's probably unnecessary to continue buying more. This is just my opinion though, take it or leave it.

  3. I got drunk last night and impulsively soaked my 2105s. I was going to wait a few months but since my RJBs are getting a hole in the crotch, I figured it was the perfect time.

I took Kiya's advice and went with a 30. I also did about a 30 - 40 minute cold soak. Sorry but I don't have pre and post measurements. Initially, they were difficult to button up, but once I got in them they started to stretch a little.

For reference, I'm about 6 ft tall and 155 lbs. Also, I'm probably not gonna be keeping that cuff... just quickly did it for the pics.

  4. Again, not bashing just curious if we have THAT many engineers/architects on here of if its one of those things were one kid is going to engineer school and posts his fancy stuff and then the next thing you know 10 people in the thread are walking around with $300 in writing utensils.

I'm a senior chemical engineering major, and my university requires that all work be written on engineering paper... which is essentially fancy graph paper.

I'm not trying to come across as a dick, but most of the work I do is comprised of pages upon pages of handwritten text. A small handheld notebook just isn't gonna do the trick. It may suffice as a daily planner, but for me it'd be useless for actual "work."

I've tried to get in the fancy pen/pencil game, and it just hasn't worked out for me. Most (all) of my stuff is written in pencil, and I honestly cannot find one I like better than a mechanical BIC with 0.7 mm lead.... This isn't saying that I won't keep looking for one though!
