  1. hey layne, looks good. i'm thinking about a pair of the RJB 106s and it looks like i'm about your size/build...what's your true waist, and how did these measure post-soak?

I'm about a 31 or so and these are a 30 and fit perfect. The rise is a little higher than I'd had with previous jeans but I still love the fit.

Honestly, I had no clue about sizing... Allan at SENY helped me out and his suggestions were 100% correct. You could also ask the man above me.

And while I'm at it, Kiya, those things are perfect. I'm really looking forward to seeing how your SGs progress cuz I love the fit on em.

  2. Engineer boots the new semi dress? God I hope not.

I hope you guys are riding a motorcycle in them or working on a train or something. HA! Who am I kidding.

    Thank you for some truth.

This whole "I wanna dress like a construction/railroad worker while spending 2 grand on my outfit" is going a little far.

Casual Aldens are one thing, but when you're rocking (insert brand of the month) construction boots with your oxfords & dress button-downs... I dunno, it just seems a little ridiculous.

I know this is total blasphemy on this forum but it just seems like people are trying a little too hard.

  3. Can anyone tell me the difference(s) between the Alden 403 and the Indy they made for J. Crew?

I've know that the side stitching is different and of course the price... but is there anything else? Especially as far as quality goes? Any recommendations on what I should go with?

    Help is greatly appreciated.

  4. Approximately how long after ordering does it take to receive shipping confirmation?

I placed an order for a belt last week and still haven't received any emails... Am I being too worrisome or does it usually take a few weeks?

  5. Quick question guys.

I got these 106BSPs last week from Self Edge (NY) and when I was in class a few days ago, I noticed that the stitching on the left knee was coming loose. It's not a huge problem now but I imagine that it will get far worse with wear.

Should I just contact Self Edge and see if they'll repair them? Just looking for a little input.

  6. so when it comes down to it, what's the best bang for buck oxford that'll be left untucked?

You really can't beat the price of Uniqlo... basically $20-$30. At the same time, you must realize you're not paying for quality.

I don't know what everyone is talking about when they say Uniqlo oxfords must be tucked in because they're too long. I bought 4 different shirts last week and every one of them looks great untucked. I'm not super tall, only 6 ft. And as far as the fit in the chest/body area, it was not baggy at all on me... definitely a great casual fit.

If you wanna step up quality a little more, I've had some great casual oxfords from Gap and J Crew in the past.
