  1. Not too sure where else to post this as there has been a little discussion about the Levi's x Filson line. Tried on a the shooting shirt and the cruiser jacket which were both oversized but maybe they shrink down? I tried on the tin cloth trucker in small but it was way too tight; strange because i have a small trucker which fits fine. Anyways I picked up one of the booklets and made some scans to share.

The two denims mention are named "Rigid Nappy Denim 13.5 oz" and "Rigid Saturated Denim 13.5 oz"

The rest of the pages in the booklet are like the notes pages which seem similar to Field Notes notebooks which Levi's was selling as well.

All of the items were unwashed and had a nice feel but while all these were hand made in Seattle, the denim is sadly imported. :(

  2. my girlfriend was getting rid of a pair of her Levis skinny jeans. they had an orange tab as it was a remake of the 1966 skinny. i recently picked up a rigid standard trucker from Century 21 for $30, so i decided to replace the red tab with the orange one.

inside the pocket i found a bunch of thread that was fraying off so i decided to carefully salvage it to use to sew the tab in.

i have a stitch ripper so it was really easy to remove the orange tab from her jeans as well as remove the tab from my jacket.

i started at the bottom of the flap on the outside to secure the tab first. i used a stitch my mom showed me before to repair the thread on pocket bags but i forget what she called it. i would go underneath first then bring it back twice to get the stitch to become visible. then skip ahead a stitch and go back twice again. this way all of the dirty work is on the underside of the flap while the top side almost looks normal.

i didn't do the best job but this is still one of my first few times sewing. i think this subtle detail makes this $30 jacket lot a whole lot better.

  3. Depends on which store you go to. I've been to the one on 14th st in NYC and they have the red brick and black ones in 34 length. My guess is the larger stores will carry more variety and larger size runs.

  4. Does anyone know if the 1967 505 stretches a lot? I found a pair brand new for $17.00 in a used clothing store but I was about half an inch away from getting them buttoned. For the price I'm tempted to just buy them for the denim.

  5. nice wear SLAB. the stitching came undone the same exact way on my 660s the first time I ever wore them. I have been wearing my 660s cause the thighs are a little bit looser compared to my PBJ 005. good stuff + rep

  6. PeterParker I've had similar issues with cards getting destoryed in my american apparel wallet, ends up there was a tiny bit of sand in the card slot that must have just been wearing the stripe away. maybe you could line the inside with fabric?

  7. Was at the J Crew for Men Store today on Broadway and tried on some Mister Freedom gear but also saw the 700S and 484S which definitely looked heavily machined washed. Not stiff at all, didn't really feel like there was any starch left in there at all. Saw plenty of sizes though if anyone is interested.

  8. My brother is getting married on 10/09/10 and all I can think about is waking up the next day hungover and putting on the 811s for first time.

I plan on wearing them whenever I can for the entire contest; at work I can't but I'm going to wear them to work, change pants and do the same at the end of the day to wear them home. I want to live in them.

  9. Just got my tee in the mail. Thanks for the fast shipment and awesome service SE!

It is darker than i was expecting but that is not a negative.

anyone who was worn a mister freedom tee, have the sleeves stretched out at all? mine aren't too tight but i usually don't go for fitted sleeves.

  10. hey shinobi your fit looks similar to mine after the hot soak i gave my 660s. At first everything felt too big, i didn't think that my combs were going to set right but after about 5 days of wear everything seem to settle down. i didn't seem to have that much of a diaper ass going on anymore. the waist on mine is snug but the thigh is the loosest out of all my jeans(PBJ xx005 and LVC 1947).

maybe a hem too could help create a more uniform fit but i think after a few days wear those will be great looking on you. a little bit loose but in no way baggy. :)

  11. Hey aho I never knew that Saint's Alp was a chain. There are of two of them here in nyc and I love all of their tea and snacks. I would love some almond milk tea and spicy pork on rice after reading through your tour updates. Keep it up!
