  1. Fit pic of the S510XX 21OZ Sz 31 jeans I bought on the SuFu

Marketplace from whozdrew? I love these and need to

find the time to wear them. They are tough, thick and rigid...

AND very comfortable. Thanks whozdrew? for

giving me a great deal and shipping them fast ! I hot

washed/tumble dried these once, as well as got them altered,

    after receiving them.

  2. sweapea, I've done some expensive Internet-purchasing mistakes too.

Unfortunately, I'm too distracted and impatient to try and

return shit on The SuFu Marketplace so instead I've given my mistakes

all away free to my previous housekeeper's daughter, who is 14

years old and a skinny-minny. My mistakes were so tiny-sized

though that I doubt that they'd have sold on SuFu

    Marketplace.

My sizing mistakes were too small rather than too big.

    Finally, I've realized that I'm not a Sz28/29 but definitively a Sz30 !

No shame in that ! I got caught up in the SuFu "size down" BS....which

is largely unflattering unless you're a young Asian boy or girl.

But here's me in my IH 801 ducks. I do enjoy these but I barely

wear them, honestly. Maybe I should...I do like them --

I like the popeye bell-bottomy sailor-pants aspect to them. But

    I think I just prefer non-logger pants.

  3. TVShooter, you look great, as do you DenimSailor. I actually

respect DenimSailor because for being a big dude,

he's got limited choices... but he still consistently looks wayy

more stylish than most normal-sized folks (me included).

PS. I have never negged anyone and I will not ever. I have,

however, been negged several times, including most recently --

for liking Tom Cruise. I feel it necessary to explain my admiration

for Tom. First, he's fucking beautiful to look at, and he's nearly

50 years old. Second, he's an immensely talented actor. Third,

I admire that he's so clean-cut, has avoided drugs, smoke

and excessive booze...all the while thrust unto the

    24-7 self-destructive cesspool that show-biz is. I think his

affinity for Scientology is lame but if that's what keeps him

living so passionately, healthily and without dependencies/addictions...

then more power to him. I admire Madonna for the same

reasons...she's 50+...a yoga fanatic, health nut, etc...

  4. I've worn normal weight jeans, I've worn heavy jeans, I prefer heavier jeans as I like substantial clothing. Just personal taste really.

I totally respect where you're coming from Mega.

I used to feel as you did, until I tried Sugar Cane OKIs...

weirdly, I think they're tougher and more durable than 21-ozers.

Not all 14-15-oz are Sugar Cane OKI level tough, sure,

but let's say that Sugar Cane OKI was my lighter-weight denim

gateway drug, and I've grown to enjoy the lighter-weights since.

    Don't get me wrong...I'm still a heavy-weight denim junkie too. :)

I've just grown to appreciate both.

  5. My Samurai S510 24oz Sz. 31 (27-oz post wash/dry)

are not itchy, scratchy or uncomfortable.

To the contrary, they feel robust, stiff, tough as chains on my body,

all the while breathable and very comfortable. I highly recommend them.

  6. thanks everyone for the opinions...these are headed back to England tomorrow. Even on IH's 'super slim cut', or whatever, the legs are really wide for the waist size. Black Shadows here I come.

OK morse. This makes me happy. Those IHs

DID LOOK GOOD ON YOU but I'm tickled that you've bounced

back to Samurai. Truth be told, I bought a pair of

    Samurai S510 24oz Sz. 31 from ah_long at a

ridiculous bargain, these are 27-oz after wash/dry. They're super

comfortable, not itchy-scratchy, and heavy as FUCK. They are

also a very flattering cut. Honestly, there's likely not a hill of beans

diff between one 24-25-oz brand and the other...

they're all really, really nice, but sure, the texture

between brands is unique and different, but neither is

uncomfortable or bad. I spent a far cry from $480 on mine.

The nuances and tidbits and subtleties between the

two brands (IH and Sams) are just not WORTH fighting about, IMHO.

  7. Taken with my Samsung Infuse Smart phone. Not bad as far as phone pics go.

Not surprisingly, I made supertrash/worst waywt...

I'm surprised it took me so long to get there--- or maybe I was

there earlier and didn't notice. Honestly, it didn't bother me.

I actually laughed when I saw myself there.

And my patched up IH 634S made it to ugly jeans.

( I will post those one day in here...I absolutely love them,

    which is what matters).

If we choose to expose ourselves and post on the Internet then we must steel ourselves...

because people will criticize. Hopefully you don't derive much of your self-esteem from SuFu.

    :)

  8. I was wondering what took me so long to get here. Anyway...no worries. I know that I ain't a spiffy dresser and

I've made note of it publicly. I keep in touch with my friends on Sufu because of the worldwide camaraderie

and connection...and basically, that's it. :) Glad you noticed my earnestness

Denton....that's what I most wish to come across in all my posts actually,

and since you picked up on it, I succeeded.

  9. well..there's nothing more to say about it.

roy6 is a nice dude from SF (I think), has a bucnh of LVC and stuff and knows Roy Slaper.

Mr. Slaper produces jeans and because of that, is way too busy to take WAYWT-pics ;)

Thanks for the deeper clarity Beautiful_Freak. Honestly, I had no idea...I always thought roy6

    was THE ROY.

Anyway, no matter. roy6, you are an amazing SuFu contributor and

SuFu would be at a net loss without your incredible fits along

with witty words and humor and ROY SLAPER,

you da man, you are an incredible artisan with talent

I can only dream of...and...I simply love your jeans !

  10. So are you telling me that roy6 is not ROY ? Who the fuck is roy6 then ? All this time,

I've presumed that roy6 was Mr. Slaper, the dude who makes ROY jeans. Oh God, this is all

too complicated. Please clarify more ! Why doesn't Mr. Slaper, the dude who actually crafts the ROY

jeans, ever post on WAYWT ? (No slam against you, roy6 -- you seem like

an ultra cool dude). Fuck ! My whole world has been turned upside down.

Roy (the guy behind the brand) is not roy6.

The guy above is Roy, the guy behing ROY (brand).

You can call him Mr. Slaper ;)

  11. OK, now I'm really fucking confused. Please someone answer, is the dude in this photo ROY ?

It's driving me nuts. This dude doesn't look like the ROY in the WAYWT (Jeans) thread !

I've never met ROY before (I'd love to though...maybe this December, around Holiday time ?

I'll be in SF - we should do a ROY meetup of sorts)...but honestly, but for his skinny,

lanky physique and hair color, the dude in this photo does not resemble ROY to me !

  12. I'm salivating over the **NEW Studio D'Artisan - Heavy Duck Canvas Pants Brown and *NEW Studio D'Artisan - Heavy Duck Canvas Pants Olive Green. I just can't justify buying them though...the minimalist in me simply won't allow it (not to mention the wallet in me). If I didn't already own the IH 801s Loggers in duck and black, these SA would have been purchased in their stead. Good thing the ROY ducks didn't come in my size (30), those would have been a wonderful but redundant purchase. I do like my IH Loggers a lot though...

riff, your ducks look splendid. It's cool that you get the women in your family (aunt, sister, etc...) to clothes-shop for you !

  13. ^ smaller pockets?

I hope not. That's the thing that ruins it for me in women's jeans...the freakishly small pockets. An odd concept, considering that most women have larger asses than men.

  14. I used to be a heavyweight denim bigot. Sugarcane Okinawa changed my mind completely...As others have pointed out, heavier does not mean better. I actually developed a hole in the rear pocket of some very well-known 21-oz Japanese denim (give you a hint, not Samurai and not Naked and Famous), and I don't wear my jeans hard or tight at all ! I was shocked !

After dabbling my toes into sub-15oz via the Okis and actually loving it, I opened my mind more...and now 15-ozish or so is fine with me. To be honest, I'd even go lower if the denim quality were beautiful (example, Real Japan Blues).

That's not to say that I don't enjoy heavyweight denim...I do. But I enjoy the lower weight varieties as well.

Did you see dkatz's statement that his RxC have held up (without falling apart on him) better than any jeans he's ever owned ? I'm amazed that my own ROY Nihon weren't ripped to shreds after the abuse I put them through on Mt. Whitney !

  15. Beautiful_Freak, those fakes look real to me. Of course,

I don't have a keen denim eye like you do. A very real lesson

to learn in life, across all walks -- There is no such thing as

    a free lunch !

nate1492 your Samurai 710s are the best advertisement

for Sams I've ever seen. They fit you splendidly and the wear

tapestry is incredible. Now I want a pair of Sam 710 but somehow

I doubt that they'll look as good on me as they look on you !

  16. robbie, thanks for your sweet "1977 rock chic"

compliment in your +rep. That's very much the look

I naturally embrace (the jeans, tee and tenny shoes thing...).

Anything else just feels tired and contrived ON ME.

I would like to buy a supa-nice black leather belt one day...

but can't afford one now. Probably will never buy black boots

    though.

  17. This is for ADH92 and his girfriend .

    (Happy Birthday ADH92's girlfriend !).

Here I am wearing a Women's Schott Lambskin Perfecto

jacket in a size Small, exactly like what ADH92 gifted to

his girlfriend. I love this jacket to pieces ! I don't find Japanese

denim top-gear very feminine friendly, in general, but this

Schott jacket got the woman's fit down perfectly. And by

now, hopefully you recognize my Samurai heavy duty

rattller belt, Roy Nihon denim and North Face trail runners.

I wore this outfit to view "Moneyball" starring Brad Pitt and

Jonah Hill, at the mega cinema-plex nearby. Brad Pitt and

Tom Cruise can mobilize me to the theaters like none other

...no female actress does that to me, while I must admit --

Brad and Tom have me pretty whipped.

BTW, "Moneyball" is phenomenal. I'm not a baseball fan but this movie is enjoyable by all...GO SEE IT !

  18. ADH92, I have the same Schott Lambskin Perfecto

which you bought for your girlfriend's birthday gift. Couldn't love it

more but SuFu has made me self-conscious about shoes so I don't

post pics of myself wearing it. I don't really have matching shoes.

I guess I eventually need to justify purchasing a pair of Danner hikers

in black or cordovan ? Come to think of it, I don't have a matching belt

    either. God LIFE SUCKS !

  19. Welcome back, Max. You are looking great.

Thanks riff for the link pointing me to ladies-sized (Men's) Red Wing work boots.

I have decided, however, not to purchase work boots,

regardless of brand (Red Wing, White's, Wesco, Viberg, etc...). Why ?

For the simple reason that I perform no manual labor

whatsoever in my life. I don't work on my house like riff, work

in the garden or weld like roy6 or weld and build shit like

    almostnice and Denim Sailor.

I just sit on my ass, write software/read all day, steal

a moment to do yoga, walk the dog, hike or catch a movie.

My universal hiking/walking/hanging out Danners are the only

boots I'll ever own...even though, I'll agree, they don't look

as spiffy as Red Wings, White's or Wesco. In my day to day

life, I don't prefer boots -- I like trail runners -- but these

Danners are so comfortable that I can wear them often.

My Danners served me beautifully on my recent

    heinously treacherous Mt. Whitney

climb and for that reason alone, I am loyal to them.

  20. My Mum, brother-in-law and I climbed the tallest mountain in the contiguous USA this weekend -- Mt. Whitney -- at 14505 feet -- IN ONE DAY. The round trip hike is 22-miles long, and it involves the most brutal, unforgiving terrain imaginable. I wore my Roy Jean RS2 Nihon - Straight Leg and Danner boots. Honestly, wearing denim on this hike was incredibly stupid on my part. The ROYs held up well but the extreme weather conditions, distance and terrain of Mt. Whitney demanded proper mountain-climbing pant gear (such as North Face or Patagonia). I just don't see any kind of denim as an option here. My Danner boots were phenomenal though...wearing those was a flawless move. I don't see Red Wings as an option here either...to conquer Mt. Whitney, one requires a hard core, serious hiking boot.

This was mine and my brother-in-law's 2nd climb, and it was my 67-year-old Mum's 7th. The fact that my Mum has conquered this mountain 7 times, once completely alone, is nothing short of amazing.

Very, very, very few people can conquer Mt. Whitney. It requires both extraordinary physical fitness as well as ridiculous mental toughness.

    Now, for some photos...
