angry that the jeans fit her, not me...and the fact that I'm giant sized, and she's a normal human.

    WORLD TOUR BELT

    bare feet...

-Z-, your partner is really pretty. I love the way those FH look on her...though yeah, they're a little loose, but the boyfriend-y aspect is very flattering IMHO. Makes me want to start wearing my W30 jeans, which look similarly loose on me. Gotta say it though -- your wife makes me feel morbidly obese ! At 5'2.5", I'm twice her girth !

  2. tvshooter -- OH MY GOD ! Duh ! I didn't even think of the possibility that I posted in the WAYJDT thread ! tvshooter, please don't think I'm awful (I'm not as nice as Beatle with the german army sneakers) but I have like zero spare time -- I can't commit to such favors. But get on the website : http://www.pure510.com/ and click the Customer Service link, send the dude an email. Also a number is posted -- 510 290 4895. Give him a call...I don't know if he knows my name but if you described my appearance, he'd recognize me right away, because I buy a shitload of shirts from him ! He's got TONS of shirts, and the designs are constantly changing...I'm sure he can set you, Sarah or whoever up with Oakland shirts such as the kind I wear. BTW, they're excellent quality...most are American Apparel 100% cotton Ts. Make sure you ask for American Apparel ones, BTW...I wear a Women's size L, and I'm pretty small -- they shrink in the dryer !

  3. This is exceedingly odd, but I swear -- I posted these pics on this forum in the morning, and they showed up for a minute, but then they disappeared altogether !! I remember the posting distinctly because this is MY 50TH POST (rep number revealed)...and I saw what my rep was in a flash !! Thank you kindly for making me feel so welcome on this board, everyone.

  4. It's comical that we post frequently to this forum, when we don't vary our outfits much ! I'm basically all about jeans and Ts, with jackets/IH shirt jackets thrown into the mix for warmth. The Tee is hard to read but it says "Oakland Vintage". Here I am today :

  5. Beautiful view. I take it your 20 min ride to this trail started somewhere "down there"?

Indeed entropy kid. Fremont the city is about 20-minutes' driving distance from Oakland via expressway -- so, yes, I drove to the base of the mountain (which has a pretty big parking lot, given that Mission Peak is a popular hiking spot). As you can see from the photos, the view from the top is spectacular but this is not that tough of a hike. It's challenging sure, but anyone in fairly decent shape can do it. It's not serious hiking, IMHO.

  6. Me and my IH301S went for a hike up Mission Peak, in Fremont, CA this beautiful morning. Fremont is known for its fabulous hiking trail called "Mission Peak" , highly ranked public schools, and great authentic, spicy Indian food...but, um, that's about it I think. It's about a 20 minute drive from Oakland.

  7. Hello All ! This morning, Mom and I took a walk around Lake Merritt (the crown jewel of Oakland). Lake Merritt is where Oakland-ers congregate for a stroll, a run, or just hanging out. It's usually always crowded, even during (rainy) winter-time.

The next two photos show typical Oakland houses. Most homes in Oakland were built in the early 1900s. Victorian-style homes are plentiful in Oakland, Berkeley and San Francisco.

    4891186607_92c02d62d3_z.jpg

The reason this couple looks bundled up is because, surprisingly in the middle of August, it's a bit chilly -- especially during the morning. The one on the left is wearing an interesting hat -- shaped like a bear's head. I can wear Iron Heart all-year-round in Oakland without difficulty...and I can almost always justify wearing a jacket -- the weather is so moderate here.

    4891181609_8ee4c491bc_z.jpg

Oakland's Whole Food Market -- right by Lake Merritt. Whole Foods is an upscale grocery chain in the US. Located in "affluent" urban areas, the food available at Whole Foods is organic, very high quality and costly. It ain't cheap to shop there, which is why people often call it "Whole Paycheck". Trust me, feeding a family on Whole Foods foodstuff makes Japanese denim look inexpensive ! I met a young German man (from Hanover) on my recent flight to Boston -- he had spent the past year in the US and exclaimed that, yes ! he loved Whole Foods (who doesn't ?), but only that such high caliber food is available in Europe as "default", and at reasonable, affordable prices for all.

Oakland hosts a wildly popular art n' jazz festival every year -- I've lived here 7 years and am ashamed to admit that I've never even been once. Maybe this year is the year ?

    4891764892_5dec185e61_z.jpg

I've been informed by Mom and Sister that I'm seeing "Eat, Pray and Love" with them today. Sister and family are visiting Oakland for the day. I'm a typical chick...I like chick flicks. I hated the movie "Inception" (along with most women I know who saw it).

Me and Lacy at the local Farmer's Market. I'm wearing : Lululemon Scuba Hoodie (I LOVE THESE -- I own a few), random tie-dye T, Iron Heart 301s, and Sperry Topsiders.

That "For Lease" sign reflects the sad state of affairs in the American economy -- affecting many urban retail establishments and eateries. People just ain't buyin' shit, and they ain't eatin' out -- causing local neighborhood establishments to shutter. Is America's prosperity on an irreversible decline ? I sure hope not...but only time will tell. Here's me with my mommy (whose signature fashion style is "bohemian hippie chick").

  8. I'm at work today but a colleague brought his 2 vizsla puppies

in (dogs are allowed at my workplace). These beauties are from the

same litter and only 10-weeks old ! By the way, the t-shirt I'm wearing celebrates "Arizmendi Bakery" -- a 100% organic bakery cooperative in The Bay Area -- there are outposts in Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville and San Francisco. The baked goods from Arizmendi are yummmm !

Meg Whitman (former CEO of eBay during its heyday) is running for governor of California -- as a Republican. It's curious to see such a pronounced campaign for her in a very Democratic, liberal area.

The owner of The Grand Lake Theater in Oakland makes no secret of his disdain for The Bush Administration and the messes thus created. Every 2 weeks, you can expect a new opinion posted boldly on the theater marquee !

    4872493316_3e4d89b413_z.jpg

I love The Bay Area but the sad fact remains -- it's too car-dependent. Boston's and NYC's public transportation system puts us to shame. Don't even get me talking about European cities ! In my opinion, it's a problem which The Bay Area needs to seriously pay attention to and fix.

And finally, here's me with my large creature, "Lacy" on our morning walk.

  11. Here I am in my Oakland neighborhood, walkin' around on a beautiful Saturday. Sorry, it's been awhile since I've posted...life has not been kind to me regarding spare time. I picked up a Vietnamese lunch to go (veggie spring rolls and tofu salad) at Miss. Saigon first...The place is known for great vegetarian offerings even though the sign only mentions seafood. Here I am with "Timmy" the owner :

I swear, Miss. Saigon serves up the most delicious Vietnamese food

    in The Universe !

Met a friendly, handsome young man named "Ed" while

walking up the hill back home. Ed -- an already published

and aspiring writer -- recently moved to Oakland from NYC !

(while LandoCal seems to be doing the exact opposite !)).

Ed didn't mind being published on SuFu.

  12. I often wear my IH 301S and other tighter fit jeans belt-less. I mean...I know that belts are a fashion statement but I don't really see the point if the jeans fit fine without a belt, wherein the belt doesn't serve a functional purpose. I switched to belt-less because I'm about to travel (leisure) to the Boston/Cape Cod area next week...and the belt is one less thing I have to remove during airport security scanning.

  13. I'm starting to become a fan of this fit too, slim yet modest. Great progress so far as well.

madstaxbro, I'm trying to spread SC Okinawa and Hawaii love. Googling, one hardly finds photos or info about these two Sugar Cane denim models. It's abysmal trying to track down evo pics. With Samurai, it's the opposite...there's TONS of stuff out there. Wonder why ? I think people generally don't like the fit of SC Oki and Hawaii.

  14. Me ? Same old Shit. Hope this weekend has been treatin' ya well. These Sugar Cane Okinawas are drivin' me bonkers. They're still rough and rigid as hell, show zero evo...and I've worn them for 8 weeks continuously ! Iron Heart would have shown some wear by now already. Sugar Cane Okis are not for the impatient ! I absolutely LOVE the loose, baggy-ish cut though - which I'm surprised about.

  15. This is not the most flattering pic...I look like I'm about to pick my nose but I'm about to bite my nails actually. I'm at Sutter Hospital in San Francisco, standing on a maternity bed (visiting my new baby niece -- my cousin just became a dad). I'm standing on the bed because there were lots of other relatives in the room and I was head photographer (the baby was being breastfed).

  16. From SESF Shorts Party on Sunday, June 27th, 2010. I really enjoyed meeting these 3 young men -- deadendpro, CLavin, and LandoCal. I'm a lot older than them but I'm immature enough that I can totally relate to them ! If you're on the fence about attending one of the SESF or NY parties, don't be -- they are a lot of fun ! Meanwhile, I bought a pair of 634SB (10% off) -- beautiful as you can imagine -- but I won't be wearing these for awhile.

  18. Lando, you should be a sales rep for IH. and best of all, they can just pay you in product! i'm sure you would have no problems with that arrangement. hahaha

2nd'd. LandoCal is a walking ad-campaign for Iron Heart. IH threads look most spectacular on him.
