Perfectly cuffed and coiffed. The next time you visit SF you'll need to set up a barber's chair for the duration. Maybe you can earn yourself something nice from SE with the profits.
p.s. I'll be due for a cut by September.

Feel like a lot of posters in WAYWT denim version just continue to post in here and nowhere else (even if they aren't wearing denim). What's the deal? There's some good posters in here, don't confine yourselves to one thread.
Incentive for people to come look at this thread. Besides, you know how those Supertrash people (you know who you are) are, always talking shit about us. Except for Pomata, whom they seem to fancy.

re: four horsemen
far too soft.moth plague?
Don't dismiss your powers so easily. I know many Sufuers would be more terror-stricken at the thought of a moth invasion than mere famine, war, or death.

So kind of you! Your new red Sunset shirt looks like a mis-size too, but probably would fit me. Why don't we trade?
They look like shit on you, Roy. Clearly the wrong size, too. I'll take them off your hands if you want, purely from the goodness of my heart...0 -
Engineered Garments ducks.

Here are some Engineered Garments ducks I picked up at a resale place. They have a pretty standard slim 5-pocket fit. Looks like Cone duck from the new run they supplied to LVC for the 1873 ducks and duck jumper.
I looked on line for a bit, but couldn't find these as a current EG offering. Maybe they are a prototype?

Roy, here's a couple photos of an early 40's horsehide Hercules half belt work jacket. Sorry if this is off topic for LVC.
Thanks crownzip, that looks beautiful. And no, not off topic at all, I don't think. It's always interesting to see the original/inspiration models for reproduced stuff, especially with the LVC jackets, which in several cases seem to be based on non-Levi's originals.
I've seen Hercules jackets and also some from Californian that look very similar to this model. Maybe it was a common style in the '30s and '40s? I've yet to see an original Levi's jacket that fits this mold, but presumably they made a very similar version too.
I wonder if some of their reproduced jackets are from companies that started of as independents but were bought by Levi's. I think Menlo was it's own entity at first and got bought? There is also the "scorched up" '70s jacket that is based directly on an East/West Musical Instruments jacket. I wonder if Levi's bought the rights to the design at some point and made their own version?
p.s. I'll put details of the pants up in the "post your ducks" thread presently.

sure he is.such diabolical good fits can only be achieved by the devil himself.
but he is only one of the four riders of the apocalypse who are striking terror into sufuer's hearts...
Hey, Pestilence. 'Sup?

Thanks guys! This is one of my favorite jackets. If there was a fire, this is about the first thing I'd grab on the way out. Oh, maybe the cats too.
Entertainment- where'd you get that story about Sutro tower's spires? I like it.
Edit: crownzip- the pants seem to be made from the same Cone duck LVC used for this last batch of 1873 pants and the duck jumper. It really is a fantastic color. Pretty comfortable, too.

Since I had the Rough 'n' Ready jacket out, admiring it, and found myself in a cool urban location...

I've just looked at my Homerun t-shirt, and again there are lots of numbers, but the relevant one would be 0303 I would have thought, making it from the Spring '03 collection .
I ♥ the homerun t, pic please.

Yes. 1.5 months, then in six months more, for Mr. Katz.

BTW- Roy6 - you really should post ur own opinion...we really do appreciate that a lot more than posting hearsay...
I think he looks infuriatingly good in the DD+2s, like he does in just about everything he wears. And the haircut... well, let's just say that I like it.
You can't tell him that sort of thing straight up, though. or he gets bashful.

thanks for your honest opinion which i fully appreciate.
i will drown the kittens now by taking the pants to my old drinking companion Stavros, for some little alterations here and there.this will include some decorative patching with traditional greek patterns.
btw, your taste for strange boots is getting worse and scares me a bit.
Hey, don't kill the messenger. I told rnr it was mean.

Sorry to intrude on you nice folks, but, almostnice, rnr asked me to tell you that your Mr. Freedom fit looks like a wet sack full of kittens.

Look roy6 I'm tired of your subtle pussy jibes you've been tossing my way everytime I post. You want to talk trash then talk trash to my face punk. Who the fuck are you anyway? I mean you show up here outta nowhere about 9 mo's ago acting like you're the grand poobah of the vintage fashion world with your creepy b/w pose pics in your $2000 three piece shit "vintage" wardrobe, some tub shots of '33s, old cowboy pics and a bunch of pretty boy glamour shots of yourself in "cool" urban settings. In other words you haven't contributed shit to this thread Then you go bumpin yer gums at anyone you think don't fit your lame idea of cool. A pack of hoods need to roll you up in a filthy piece of carpet and kick yer poke ass raw til you finally realize that you ain't all that!

So what are you doing hanging around here? Don't you have your hands full? Gonna get caught and beat on by the old lady if you keep this up.

dr.house, the Blue-black is also cropped fairly short at the waist, so get a measurement from Paul for bottom of collar to hem.

I hope this sample garment is also made by Aero, the seller told me only "made in UK"...Can you give me a sizing advice? I wear "M" in all my jackets, but I'm afraid this jacket is maybe too small in M. Thanks in advance.
The jacket you have pictured is the Blue-black, also from 2003, also made by Aero. It is under-sized. I have a large that fits me well- I usually wear a medium sized jacket. If you want measurements or a fit pic, pm me.

Let's try this instead, you tell me about your "personal experience" that proves why you think that my personal experience with over pricing, inaccuracy and shoddy quality is is as you said, "not true"?
The LVC Rough 'n' Ready leather jacket from 2003. The top pics are the LVC repro, the bottom are of an original Levis leather jacket that is a an extremely similar (if not the same) model that sold on the Bay last year. You can see the excellent job they did of reconstructing it.
The LVC version was manufactured by Aero in Scotland, a well-thought of company. Their jackets are pricey, a comparable Aero jacket, like the Bootlegger, would have sold for around $800 in 2003 (? ask Dr_Heech). This jacket is also heavily distressed and has nice fine details like a loosened and restitched shoulder seem and a repaired patch on the lower left front. Distressing a jacket is a lot of additional work- if you had ordered one exactly like this from Aero it probably would have been well over $1000. The LVC version was $795 at most places, I think.
The quality is extremely high. It's made with horsehide in an oil pull finish, the flannel lining is immaculate and sturdily stitched. It's a real pleasure to wear, and I fully expect it to last me the rest of my life.
Shortylong also has this jacket I think, or did. He can tell you what he thinks of it.
Just one example.
See also:
PaulT's duck jumper from last season- he posted numerous pictures of it new and after some washes, showing the way it's breaking in, (very nicely) as well as a comparison with an original jumper.
Eltopos 1873 jeans- lots of pictures here and in the Mr.Freedom thread. There are lots of pictures of the original of this jean. An excellent, very convincing repro.
Crownzip's friend's '33s, which have been worn to hell and back and are still holding together and looking amazing, posted about two weeks ago here.
Take the time to look back through this thread and you will find tons of beautiful pieces that are wearing in very well, not falling apart like subpar merchandise would.
I won't debate about pricing. High end clothing costs what it costs, mostly reflecting the design process and name of the manufacturer as well as distribution costs. Might as well spit in the wind.
Regarding your fantasies about me being beaten, you might want to compare notes with almostnice. I think he has those too.

Well, it's flattering that you've been paying such close attention to all of my posts.
I'm not being a pussy, I'm trying to let you know in a humorous way that you are making yourself sort of unpopular with your long, repetitious rants about LVC.
You have some valid points, I think everyone would agree. LVCs sizing is seriously fucked, not only on jeans, but on shirts and leather jackets as well. I've handled and worn almost all of their leather jackets, and I think out of 11 exactly three of them that fit me (what I imagine is) correctly were marked medium. They deserve every bit of scorn you want to pour on them for their consitant inability to size their expensive clothing correctly.
But I feel like you're taking it too far painting all of their products as over-priced, historically inaccurate, and shoddy. I know from my own experience that this just simply is not true. And you say it over and over again without actually bringing up any new points.
Things like "where is the metal used for the rivets sourced from" is not really a decent point. Who cares? The metal was originally mined in the southwest or western USA by immigrant Chinese labor. Do you want LVC to re-implement this program to satisfy your idea of what constitutes an acceptable reproduced garment?
Most of LVCs stuff is well-designed, well-chosen, comparable in quality to most high-end clothing manufacturers (not BR & Sugarcane, no),and in the close-ballpark of historical accuracy. With high and low points.
You don't have to like it, but don't expect everyone to act like you've said something new and provocative every time you say the exact same thing: that LVC is lame.
