found this little sneaker boutique in outer sunset called Grails SF. Mainly focused on nike dunks, but pretty nice assortment. Its pretty new i guess, opened within the last two months

i got a free chemex yesterday while helping a friend move. That was a pretty dope score as i was planning on buying one, but didn't want to fork over the 40$

i went to undefeated today, decent selection but didn't have anything i really liked. I am kinda looking for diadora n9000 and puma trinomic type stuff. I don't have any specifics in mind other than that.
I don't really like the shopping scene in SF, but maybe its my outlook. Feel like it could improve a lot a lot

this is slightly related, and a weird thing i noticed.
I bought more expensive clothes when i didn't really have a ton of money. But now that i have more money (better job, less friends, got really into minimalism and cut out a bunch of excessive shit i didn't need or use...no more car) I don't really spend much on clothes. I still wear clothes i bought years ago (RRL's, Baldwin, odyn vovk). haven't updated much in the last 4 years truthfully.

best place for sneakers in the bay area? Only place I've been to is dark side initiative but their inventory was pretty small and not much my taste. I don't wanna buy online and will pretty much travel anywhere in the area. suggestions?

california is like 5 states in one. I grew up in modesto, and that might be arguably worse than fresno. The great cities and towns of california make up about 20% of the state.

will be in Barcelona, and possibly elsewhere for a while. Just sorta winged it, and gunna live and learn some spanish (and catalan). Im looking for any good recommendations. Shopping, food, bars (dive or non touristy), places to see good music- punk clubs, venues etc.
Actually anything any good tips would be appreciated

Thats not true. There are some good clothing spots downtown. Not fantastic, but some decent european brands and stuff i hadn't heard of before
I went this time last year. Had such a good time.
Here's our itinerary which might be helpful?

Favourite things we did was definitely the outdoor baths. Favourite bar was Szimpla Berlin. Small and low key. The ruin pubs are great, but quite quiet at this time of year as it gets extremely cold. Would recommend packing a warm coat!
Dope city. Very cheap too. Don't bother looking for clothes shops though, not really that type of place.

man, i haven't been here in a long while to post. Anyways, I moved to SF from seattle about an year and a half ago. I've been living downtown, and have really enjoyed this city. I move to Barcelona in 2 weeks, and already bummed I'm leaving. However, I won't miss how dirty and disgusting living downtown has been. This city needs a thorough washing

Fresno and bakersfield are the armpits of California, there is nothing on earth short of an absurd amount of money you could give me to live there. From my brief understanding that you've lived all over a world, it would be quite the damper on any cultural enrichment, even if just for 3 years.
Has anybody eaten at The Progress? I was invited this coming week- Not very excited but would like to hear any recommendations on which courses to choose.

i feel like SF thread needs an update.
Where are people eating, drinking, hanging out, shopping, doing in san francisco (and the surrounding bay area)
I just discovered Tank hill recently. pretty rare to see more than 3 people there at any given time. Best view of the city bar none. Much better than twin peaks in my opinion.
Brewcade in castro is pretty awesome. Craft beer and arcade. Queen bee gets pretty rowdy.
had some great Korean food recently- Manna. Inner sunset location, good prices, and small wait. Don't need to make reservations.
Pinhole coffee in bernal heights is cute. Nice interior, and in a very neighborhoody location. Feels like you left the crowds. No wifi or outlets though.
Rasmunds in mission. Good beer selection, good bratwurts. 7 dollar beers, 9 dollar brats. Great food, but a bit steep for grub.
Tornado. With the inflating prices within the city, ive been coming back here more often. You can still get 5 dollar beers here, although most beers are 6. This is a beer bar with an extensive tap selection.
i think im gunna head up to marin this weekend and check out mt tam for the first time.
