Like most retailers, Seven had already seen business decrease during the recession, but its sales were off by only about 5 percent in 2008, Mr. Sang said. The store was more severely hurt by scaffolding that went up on its own building at the end of that year and still remains there. But he said it took a much bigger hit when the restoration of the Judd Foundation began last fall.
“As soon as that thing went up, we lost half our business,” Mr. Sang said.
Even regular customers have dropped off because, Mr. Sang said, the store can no longer afford to pay designers for new merchandise. A few designers allowed Seven to continue carrying their spring collections without a deposit, but others are now withholding merchandise.
...
Mr. Sang said he spent the weekend raising $7,000 from friends to pay a bill owed to Mr. Simons, with the hope of getting a new delivery.
“But once you get into that cycle,” he said, “it’s harder and harder to get out.”
this is really sad news...

someone get hedi on the case at givenchy menswear
Aw hell naw, Givenchy quality sucks so bad it would be a travesty to waste genius like that. And to imagine Hedi designing for generously sized guys...

@Givenchy S/S 12, what the hell is this nonsense? Tisci needs to STOP.
