Lucas - I did the same as you, and trust me, it takes about a week but the waist will stretch out as much as it needs to.
Great looking element models fellas.

Thanks Fincarelli, it is slimmer than my usual jean, but I'm starting to like it.
i think they're gonna shrink too muchYou think? I've hot-soaked them twice, 2 hours in total. I'm hoping any more shrinking will be minimal.

First day wearing 710s, was painful at first but the waist has loosened already. Opinions on fit? I'm a bit worried about the ole kneebags, but I guess that's a common sight in the first week of wear.

Thanks guys, stuck a coathanger in there, but I still think these first few wears are going to be painful!
edit: Oh dear God, got them on, this is indeed painful!

Shit guys, I may have fucked up sizing on my 710s.
BiG were out of 32s, so I sized down 1 to a 31.
Just got them, they currently fit *perfect* in the waist pre-soak. Any way I can keep the waist from shrinking post-wash? Stick something between the waist to keep it stretched?

Loving the images on this page.
I finally bit the bullet and ordered the 710s. They were out of 32s, so I went for a 31.
Will sizing down 1 mean I'm in for a world of hurt? Anyone else sized down in the thread?

Rayw44 - They are not shell cordovan. The dead giveaway is in the wrinkles: Cordovan doesn't "wrinkle", after many wears it just shows curves.
Here are my shell cordovans, notice how the leather creases are smooth, not wrinkled:

They are size 33 (I bought them when I used to be a few pounds heavier), but I now comfortably fit into a 32 in most jeans.
It is indeed too small for my frame and perhaps my biggest annoyance with them, as I love the fit otherwise (hem withstanding).
I definitely think I'll plump for the 710 if that's the case, but I'll await any more replies before deciding.
Thanks again for your help freak.

Cheers mate.
The main issues I have with my PBJ 007s is:
The hem is a bit too wide at 8.5inches.
The front rise is only 10inches, the back rise about 12.5-13', I'd like slightly more.
So all-in-all, I want a bit more room in the seat, and a bit less width at the hem.

Hi guys,
Looking to get my first pair of Samurai jeans, and wanting a slim (but not skinny) fit.
If it helps for comparison, I really like my Pure Blue Japan XX-007s (sized down one) silhouette, but as it's a straight leg they give off an almost bootcut look towards the bottom.
So I'm looking for something with a bit more taper, but that fits similarly.
Looking at BiG, it seems the 710 model would be appropriate. Opinions? In terms of my dimensions, I'm 6'2, about 185lbs, with quite large thighs (24 inch).

Supreme - It's never been a big issue for me, maybe if you downsize too much I can see it happening.
Quick pic of mine as I head out - about 8 months wear, 4 washes:
