  1. These jeans were definitely thrashed and the holes were allowed to get big before being repaired. This made it extremely difficult to make the repair 'invisible'. Getting to the knee without cutting open the leg proved difficult. The pocket was also tricky.

  2. I basically use the method outlined on the 45rpm site. Here's a link to the denim repair thread which shows this.

It sounds like your jeans haven't worn through to an actual hole yet, more that some of the warp threads have broken so you should still have the white weft threads. This makes it much easier to do a less visible repair. The 45rpm method uses a patch on the inside of the jeans, so it will definitely reinforce the crotch area. I've done this to a number of my jeans including my Dior's. It's best to get the worn area early before it gets too big, this way it's much easier to do an inconspicuous repair.

  3. I live in Adelaide and don't get to Melbourne often enough to need a tailor there. It's a simple job though, if the hole's not that big it shouldn't take long at all. I wouldn't expect to pay more than $20, not entirely sure though, I do all my repairs myself.

  4. It depends on how you wear them. Nudies and Dior's are the sort of jeans that people wear low. This puts a lot of stress on the crotch and is what causes it to wear through quickly. Despite the fact that Nudie's and Dior's, for example, are the kind of jeans that are gonna be worn low, the retailer, or Nudie, can use that as a kind of scapegoat for getting around crotch blow out. Technically they could say that the crotch wore through because of how you wore them. However, it's worth a go. As for repair, it's easy enough to repair. Whereabouts in Aus are you, I mean I can repair denim, any tailor should be capable of it though.

  5. I could get all the buttons done up on the 27s, I just didn't like the fit. Obviously they would have stretched, but I prefer the slouchier, looser fit of 28s. Also, prior to these jeans I'd only owned 19cms. Didn't really like the 21s.

  6. Selling a pair of size 27 MIJ indigo 21cm Dior's. I bought them off Kregg, another forum member. They're a bit too small for me, I normally wear 28s. They've only been worn a handful of times (by Kregg, not at all by me). I paid $240 for them, need the cash quickly so I'm asking $120 USD including shipping. Here' some pics

  7. There are plenty of spelling mistakes on Dior tags ("only four japan")

All of my MIJ raws have the 2 "m's" in separamment. That actually looks exactly like the tag on my 05 raws. You know what season they are?

I can't tell you for sure with those pics, but I can say the stuff looks exactly like my MIJs. Although that is a lot of flare man. I could see the boot thing being true but that flare looks pretty intentional to me.

As long as you like the fit of the top block my advice would be to taper to the hem size you want.

Don't know what season they are. Kregg bought them off someone from Styleforum, so I don't think he'd know either. I'm not heaps happy with the fit anyway, I prefer size 28s. I really wanna sell them off, but given the uncertainty over the legitimacy I can't really do that. I guess I'll just hold onto them as a constant reminder to be very careful when buying stuff secondhand.

  8. Kregg thinks that the hem may have stretched as he worn them over snow boots. If possible, I might get you to see if you can confirm authenticity xhOllywOOdxx and if they look legit then I guess I'll sell them off cheap, or maybe just taper them down to what they should be

  9. Yeh I live in Australia, we don't have a single Dior boutique in the country. Is it not possible to file a dispute with Paypal or my credit card company since, irrespective of whether or not they're fake, they do not match the description (they were sold as a 21cm cut which is a slightly tapered straight leg, not a bootcut).

  10. Nice fit ryan.

Teardrop explodes I don't know why I didn't think of this but are the 21cms MII? That could explain the larger hem size.

Nup, MIJ. I'm pretty sure they're fake. There's something just not right about them compared to my other Diors....that and the fact that I've never seen a pair of bootcut Diors before. I asked Kregg where he bought them, he said they came from a member of Styleforum called Choowy. But yeh, pretty sure these are fake. What should I do? Kregg hasn't said much other than one word answers to my questions, nor has he done anything to ease my suspicion that these are fake.

Even if they weren't fake, they're not what I wanted, I won't wear a bootcut jean

  11. I believe totally epic had a pair of size 27 raws. Or maybe he was selling them? But in that case there were probably measurements in the thread if you wanted to dig it up.

They look fine though if you want a straight leg like that. I wouldn't worry about it. Or you could taper if you really wanted.

Ok I've done some research and gotten some measurements and the hem size on other size 27s in the 21cm cut is around 18cm. The hem on mine is 20cm which is even bigger than size 29s have? Could mine be fake? My 21s are a definite bootcut.

  12. Teardrops, that fit actually looks pretty good to me. You can easily taper the 21cms to 19cm, especially because the raw doesn't have any wash details you'd lose in the process, and the stitching on the dior jeans are not anything particularly special. Just ask for a ~2cm taper from the knee down at a reliable tailor, have them keep the material worst case scenario. Or you can have someone near a DH store proxy the job for you, they are probably the most reliable ones out there.

Yeh, it wasn't so much that, as I was wondering whether the leg opening on my 21cms is bigger than the leg opening on other size 27s. My 19s are size 28 and the leg opening measures 17cm (measurement goes down 0.5cm each size from a pair of 32s which actually measures 19cm). My size 27s in the 21cm cut should measure about 18.5cm by that logic. Instead they measure a little over 20cm. Does anyone else have some size 27 (or even 28 for that matter) 21cm raws that they can check the hem size for me.

  13. So here's the 21cm's I was referring to earlier. Sorry for the average pics, I only just got them so they still need some wearing in. Anyway, does the leg opening in the side on pic look excessive? They look more like a bootcut then a straight leg. I'm probably being pedantic, but a 20cm leg opening on a pair of size 27s seems kinda excessive to me

  14. Should pretty much be straight leg, very little taper if any. Same as 19 to the kneeish area.

It's probably the stacking looking weird with the big hem.

The leg opening is actually about 1cm wider than the width of the knee, there's definitely no taper, a very slight boot kick if anything, but yeh, essentially a straight leg. I've also kinda moved on from Dior cuts a bit, so I guess that is probably impacting on my uncertainty of the fit. I'll post some pics later anyway.

  15. Yeh they measure about 20 to 20.5cm

There's nothing to suggest they're fake, everything else looks identical to all my other Diors. They had been worn for a few weeks before I bought them, so whether the leg opening has stretched. But even still, the leg opening on my size 28 19cm Diors still measures 17cm after 3 months wear.
