  1. They're more or less identical man. Read the FAQ compiled by some Dior denim experts on the first page of this thread, 19cm is basically the New Cure, 21cm is the New Standard. Look at the fit pic of your NS and compare it with TragicBliss' 21cm, they look the same man. The differences are negligible.

  2. durr cause they're not the same

You're an idiot. The 21cm is similar to the New Standard. If you had a pair of NS you should not need to ask all these dumb questions about the fit of the 21cm cut.

BTW those New Standards look good. Why did you sell them, the fit is great. They look pretty much identical to TragicBliss' 21cm fit that you wanted

  3. Dude, it's impossible to tell you which one to get and what they're gonna look like on you. It's gonna depend on the build of your legs. Either go and try some on somewhere or take the chance like everyone else and buy a pair online. There's enough different fit pics on here that you should have got some idea which is gonna be the better one for you. Buy a pair, if they're no good sell them. That's the risk you take buying shit online.

  4. a 21cm opening is too small to be be bootcut...

i just like the 19cm leggings but think the opening is too small/extreme for my taste.

if the 21cm legging is too big for me, i want to taper it a tiny bit but leave the hem, giving it a bit of an ankle flare like the apc new cures

It's gonna look like shit man. By the sounds of it I don't think Dior's are really the jeans for you, find something else you like the cut of

  5. i never said i wanted to have them tapered to 19cm. i like the 21cm hem but not the wide leggings so i was wondering if i could taper just the leggings but leave the hem.

So you want a bootcut? That'd look shit man, if that's what you're after don't buy Diors.

  6. I agree but remember even if they washed say once a week, a week in the mine would probably be like 7 months on the bar stool.

Again I've done it both ways MANY times over and best whiskers and combs I've gotten have come from more wear and less water....

Stop comparing weeks in the mine to months on the bar stool, it's a poor guesstimate at best.

  7. A new store has just recently opened up in Adelaide which stocks Japanese denim. At the moment they have sugarcane denim in the 47 and 66 cut. The owner has told me that they will also be picking up samurai and fullcount as well as 3sixteen. Here’s their website http://www.righthanddistribution.com/ -- still under construction tho. however the owner has told me that they will not be setting up an online store anytime soon, but will take phone orders.

I know the owner, Andy. He's a really cool guy. The prices aren't too bad either, Sugar Cane 47s were $325 from memory.

  8. lol, im just sharing what happened to me... i had decided to go for size 31. i am not asking for opinions whether size 31 or 32 fits me better since i do not have the pictures. what im asking, whether its normal for a guy like me to not be able to button the very top button for dior size 30 with 31.5 natural waist size... :)

Dude it's hard to know what "a guy like you" is even supposed to mean. A lot of guys can't do up the clasp and sometimes also the top button when they first get their Diors. They will stretch. However, without seeing pics, it's impossible to tell what they look like. They could look good, they might look like shit, you're the one that saw them on.

  9. ^^ dang dude! that DIY alteration looks good!

Thanks man, although it's a pretty easy job. A lot of people are quick to write off Diesel, but their tailoring is often very good, especially when it comes to small details and their fit in the top block. If you pick the right pieces and work with it you can actually make them look very cool, in my opinion. Anyway, all I know is I prefer these to my 19cm Dior's.

  10. Here's some pics of my black 19cms. They're 5 months old, about 4 months of constant wear, no wash. Unfortunately, I don't have a great camera so these pics don't really show the wear. They're starting to get whiskering, and the honeycombs are beginning to fade. I've also repaired a hole in the crotch. I think it'll be at least another 6 months of solid wear before they really start to look cool.

  11. How did you customize them?

This is the cut on a normal pair of Safado's (this is not the same wash as mine). I tapered the jean from the knee down and hemmed them. The look I'm going for atm is looser, sagged and unconstructed in the top block but tapered and narrow from below the knee. The Safado is an example of a slimmer version, and I wear '66 501 style jeans for a looser, more relaxed look.

    Here's a front on pic

  12. I know Diesel gets a lot of shit on this forum, among others, but they actually do a lot of great stuff if you know how to customise it and style it. I think much of the snobbery and negativity towards the label is undeserved. People that really understand fashion can work with many of the pieces in Diesel's collections. Anyway, here's a Safado jean that I customised myself. It's been tapered from the knee down and then hemmed.

  13. Not everywhere, places like the calf they'll stay more shrunken since there's not a lot of outwards pressure there..

They're sanforized man, they're not gonna shrink any smaller than when you bought them and will eventually stretch out to the same as they were before soak. If you're using the argument of there not being a lot of outwards pressure in certain places, then those areas would never have stretched in the first place and therefore couldn't have shrunken.

  14. A lot of your fades will be more noticeable after your first wash. Unless for some reason they need a wash though, I'd hold out. I also got mine in December. I don't think I'll wash mine till at least the end of the year. Mine are black though
