  1. ^I'm really digging your arcs, moykky. I like that they're not so contrasty...

Anyways, here's mine. Today's the day. I came home late last night and oiled the patch, so it had time to dry overnight. It's really saturated now. The plan for today is a hot machinewash, pull them out when the spin starts and then soaking them in boiling hot water for a good 45-60 minutes. That should shrink them well enough...

I took some measurements and I'll measure again after the wash/soak if anyone is interested...

  2. ^ Well, they're a reproduction of a 1947 501 Levi's (right?) so adding the arcs and tab would add to that heritage appeal...

But I'm not putting them on, I haven't had the time to wash them, and I really want to start wearing them, so instead of wasting time finding paint or thread and painting and stitching, I'm just throwing them in the washer tomorrow morning and the hopefully I can start wearing them by late afternoon. After that I doubt I'll get back to customizing them... Fuck it.

  3. Also in the samurai thread...

My 6 month old s710bk. Kind of a picture heavy update. Sorry... But this will be their last update for a while.

These really were a great pair. Love the cut, the denim, details... I've been back and forth about the hidden arcs, but I think I like them...

...But anyway. I'm done with black jeans for a while.

Hello new jeans. These are an almost black indigo and I'm counting on them to shrink some...

  5. Mine came too, #090, without ever getting a shipping notification. They're huge! I won't have time to wash, soak, customize till Thursday. I'll probably put on the tab, but I'm really not sure about the arcs. I don't have any jeans with plain pockets, so it would be nice to leave them as is, but on the other hand, this is such a great opportunity to have a kind DIY customized pair... If I do any arcs it will be painted ones, and in a non contrasting color, black or navy or maroon or something...

Will the arcs be a factor in the voting for this contest a year from now?

  6. has anybody received a click-n-ship notification this week from big?

    No.

damn.... I ordered a size up, and now though the fits good I want another size bigger for a looser fit (Big legs).

    I've got a 34 if anybody wants to swap for a 35?

If you still want to next week, and if mine are too big, I'll let you know. What are the waist and inseam measurements and how did you soak/wash?

  7. ^that's too bad about that misship...

I'm wavering on what to do with my arcs. I wasn't going to do anything because I have Levi's inspired arcs on half my jeans and loud designs on the other half... But seeing what everyone is doing... looks so cool. I'm thinking now of painting black arcs...

  8. its not the starch b its the tightening of the weave that keeps it stiff.

One soak by no means gets out all the starch. Water can actually reactivate starch. The jeans being so stiff they can stand up is due to a combination of the starch being activated and the weave tightening.

  9. they look good on you man. throw them in the washer again and see if any shrinkage (more) happens

True. If you only soaked them you should definitely give them a hot wash before you trade/sell them.

But maybe we should get a trade thread started soon anyway? DP?
