  1. What's keeping me from joining is the fact that my Denime Kyotos are tagged 38 and measure 35 in the waist, which is a perfect fit for me. The size charts say that a tagged size 36 (largest size listed) measures 33.8 in the waist, which would be too small. These don't come in a 38 do they?

  2. update on my tagged 38 eternal 811BG one-wash, after an additional soak:

    waist - 35"

    inseam - 36"

    upper thigh - 13"

    leg opening - 9"

    f.rise - 11"

    b.rise - 16"

these are the exact measurements of a tagged 36 eternal 811BG one-wash - odd! but, I remember gordon stating sth related to odd measurements above tagged 34.

This is useful indeed. I've been wanting a 811 for a while and I would've bought a 36, but it seems like I need a 38 based on these measurements...

  3. 2 months and 4 days in, first crotch repair. Just the stitches breaking, no rips or anything.

No offense to klue but I wish people would stop sucking on his denim dick.

There are some really nice pairs being posted in here (Knugget, loving yours) and it's early in the contest; by the end alot of these pairs will probably be beautifully faded and not in tatters.

I think reinforcing the idea that any pair that isn't klue-level by now is "boring" will not benefit this contest at all.

Chill. Before we get another 4 pages of arguing about that shit. His pair looks radical for 2 months, compared to the rest of us, who are all at about the same level of evolution right now. That's all. Nobody's sucking no denim dick.

  4. I posted these in the sam and evo thread already, but I want to keep this thread alive! Black denim rocks.

    s710bk19oz size 35, 7 months.

Crotch has been professionally patched and amateurishly repaired several times but is still falling apart.

  5. how long does it usually take for the waist to stretch to its maximum size? i've been wearing my 710BKs for about two weeks now and theyve stretched a little, but not enough to be completely comfortable. i'm beginning to get scared that theyll never stretch out enough. IF thats the case, is there any way to force it to stretch out more?

For unsanforized denim, a lot of initial shrinkage usually means a lot of eventual stretch. 710bk denim doesn't shrink THAT much initially (mine about 1" in the waist), so it doesn't really stretch out that much either, in my experience at least. If you want to stretch them more you might want to consider soaking them again and stretching them while they're still wet. I've never tried it on the waist but it might work.

  6. About the pocket repair; there are many reasons for buying these jeans. To me cotton thread isn't one of them. Bought needle and thread yesterday since front pocket seam broke.

To me the 100% cotton is part of the appeal. I don't want a pair of year old faded worn in denim with clean, intact stitches.

  7. Fit pics of my Denime Kyoto Model. My dad picked them up on a business trip to Japan last March. I didn't specify to get them raw, so these are o/w, unfortunately. They're tagged size 38(!) and the waist measures 34.5" and fits just right. A little tight on the thighs but I think they'll stretch out to a perfect fit after a couple bikerides. The color is very bright blue, perfect for summer!

This is what Denime does do their jeans in the o/w process... Fucking brutal. I soaked them trying to get rid of some of those machine washer/dryer generated creases and they went down a little. I also managed to stretch the inseam a little because in the above pics they were barely long enough at 34.5".

  8. I tried on some sorahikos at 45rpm in soho last week and they were amazing. Definitely one of my next purchases... They didn't have any jomons on hand though.

  9. if money isn't a problem, bang & olufsen !

    Fixed that.

I'm not really up to speed on the current models and pricing and stuff, so I won't recommend any specific models

But you should let it depend on where you're going to use it. If it 's for the living room, or anywhere with some natural or artificial light, go with an LCD. If you're building a home theater in a room that you can make completely dark, plasma will give you better image...
