  1. After a good two years of failing to fade any jeans because I constantly bought and sold them looking for another perfect fit I decided to buy one jean and force myself to wear them for a full year. I decided on the 1947 model because I think an argument can be made for them being the quintessential jean. I sized up even on a jean that was already anti fit because my weight fluctuates about 15lbs throughout the year from weightlifting. I'm about 9 months in and I think I made the perfect choice. Even though right now I could easily fit into a size smaller and are not even close to the perfect fit, throughout the 9 months id walk out of stores like Unionmade, self edge, and stag with just purchasing shirts and thinking these pants are pretty good. I don't even have pictures of them because l know they consistently look good with everything and never needed to check. Anyways, this is my corny love letter to a jean that doesn't even need it because its a staple cut that everyone should own and it knows it.

  2. Yes, fit pix.

My 1947s got their first wash. Just threw them in the washing machine and dryer. They came out great, what good denim. I'll post pics when I get a phone without a broken camera.

  3. im starting to think that the SC Oki's are my favorite jean ever.  The cut is fantastic, the pocket bags and back pocket lining are a really nice addition that you dont see that often.  The denim tho, is great.  Its slubby, has tons of texture and just feels nice.  The only minor thing I would possibly want is a donut  style button.  I always wanted a pair of SC's, but these really took me by surprise.  maybe im 6 years late to the party!

    How prickly are they?

  4. My 1947s are pretty roomy on me, got a good 2" in the waist and a bit in the hips. I don't really mind, I like the extra room. But I've been thinking about picking up a pair of Okinawa or Hawaii and was wondering if it would be safe to size down 1 from my 1947s, if it's the exact same cut it could work.

  5. Yes.  Especially if your hot soaked twice pair started raw.  Full shrinkage doesn't happen until all the starch has been broken down with agitation and repeated warm/hot washes.

Gotcha, Thank you! They were raw at start. Was excited to see the denim in its raw state. Glad to hear that they will eventually shrink down to my old 34 size.

  6. Do 1947s slowly shrink during their life and washes? I feel like my pair of 34s is a full size larger than my older pair that's been washed many times, this one has been hot soaked twice.

  7. Light wear. Picture taken in direct sunlight so fades are more visible, still very dark. Great cut and quality.

  8. BF is correct. I have a pair if 34s 1947 that are very old, they fit so much smaller than my 2 month old 1947s.

but really though, I think they are a bit too large for you. Gotta build them wheels up, that's when vintage cuts look the best IMO.

  9. Tag size 33.  Pre = about 34.5 inches, 34 for length.  Post = 33 inches, 33 for length.  Minimal shrinkage due to quick cold soak.  This is probably it in terms of water contact... until next year or so when I need to wash them.

How about the thigh and front rise?
