Very nice work.
I noticed the back yoke looks very small, what kind of effect does that have on the fit?

I do not envy your feet this month. That's going to be a challenging break-in.

@jbanger, it's 3-4oz outside and then 3 layers of 2-3oz, so not particularly thin, but I'd rather go thick and durable.
@JanC, It's usually around 7-8mm, but it can vary depending on the thickness of the leather you're working with, so I prefer to cut the inside piece the same size as the outside, then mock it up and trim accordingly.

Yeah, I went with the brown and I'm really excited about them, John's work has never disappointed in the past (Sorry, I guess I'm a fanboy, Ed).

I have heard the leather is on the thin side, like 2-3 oz
Fine points ray, but this bit is off. 2-3oz is *very* thin, based on closeups of the Lofgren engineers I'd guess they're 4-5oz at least. ~4oz is as thin as Horween goes with chromexcel cowhide.
I'll be able to go into more detail about the Lofgrens in May

I can't afford a Lamborghini, I don't get mad at Ferruccio about it, and I definitely don't get mad at the dudes at the dealership about it.
...because that would be irrational...

The contest is more improved by one regular poster than by a dozen lurkers.
Totally fair to keep that in mind when you're dealing with dropouts and backups, I think. There will definitely be some dropouts.

I'm wearing them right now, I didn't soak them, John said they shouldn't shrink. These are my most...theatrical? pants by far, it's taking some getting used to, but I do like them. Will do some fits eventually, once I feel like I really know how to wear them.

Just the shirt and wabash pants are Freewheelers, the hat, bandana, and duck pants are Lofgren, socks are a brand called Chup.
The tags on the Freewheelers stuff are worthy of a photo essay on their own, so much work went into making them awesome.

Just to fuel the excitement a little, here's my natural chromexcel, no-celastic BH:

You can make fairly round leather cord by cutting squarish strips from thick veg tan, beveling all four edges, and then rolling it between two hard, flat things.
It's a big pain in the ass, but worth it if you're only making small quantities.

Boot companies were a little slow in realizing how awesome natural chromexcel is, but it seems like they're starting to get it. It looks great at every stage of aging. I think it'll be popular for a good long while.
Still hoping for action shots of the captoe trench if anyone has a pair!

Here is my newly acquired Schmidt shirt from Nietenhosen. Excellent work!

More beard on the model = better sales. No question.
