  1. I just popped the spring out of one, stretched it out a bit, and put it back in.  That increased the tension, but only slightly.  It wasn't too hard to do, so I imagine getting a stronger/longer spring in there should be doable and more effective if I can find the right one.

  2. I've heard that issue a few times now, but I've only had my keys come unclipped once or twice, and only on car seats, so I haven't worried about it too much.  I may look into getting a supply of springs though if i can find something appropriate, so I can amp up the tension before I ship them out.

  3.

Just tracked down and purchased what might be one of the last pairs of raw 7161mds in existence. 5 year wait finally over!

Got in my midnight p-jacket today. It's drying now, will try to get fit pics. This thing is intense.

Got in my Appaloosa today, might be better than the CPO. Fabric is mindblowing. Shirt is VERY SLIM. I sized up one and could barely cold soak it.

And zero pictures.  Shame on you sir.

  4. Looks good! I am also guilty of this but I think we should stop saying "piece" when referring to articles of clothing, Mister Freedom or not.  They are not from a museum....

On the other hand, if you're paying this much for clothes and don't see some kind of art value to it, you're making a mistake.

  5. The back edge of the block heel sits almost a full inch back compared to a cuban heel.  This is going to effect the way your foot strikes the ground with each step, so you'll probably have noticeable heel drag compared to the cuban heel.

Plus it just seems silly to mess with a design that's been successful aesthetically and functionally for ~100yrs.  In my opinion there's no point to buying White's unless you're getting the fit and look gave the brand their fame and respect.  Block heels make a lot more sense on lower profile casual boots like Indy's and service boots.

  6. The lasso stitch belt is made by Unlucky/Don't Mourn Organize, the main difference is that the edges on that one are beveled and nicely burnished, which is a major sign of quality in my opinion.

The lasso belt also has a stainless steel prong, as well as a much stronger buckle attachment, but those are upgrades that you're unlikely to really *need*, but they do make for a more durable product theoretically.
