  1. We enter our second season with Stevenson Overall Co. with the arrival of the Skyline bomber jacket. The fabric has an almost silk like quality but is a blend of cotton and nylon in almost equal measure . The lightweight jacket is based on the L-2B US Navy flight jacket from the mid-1960s. Simple in design with no epaulettes or pocket flaps, it has a modernized slim silhouette.

Along with a restock of the 727 and 737 jeans we now carry the Stevenson Hilts chinos in khaki. Despite the modern slim fit the details are taken from vintage WW2 US army chinos. The name is inspired by captain Virgil Hilts played by Steve McQueen in The Great Escape. The fabric is full of texture and slub like chimos of old.

James is wearing a large jacket and 33w chinos. He is 188cm tall 83 kg in weight.

Along with a restock of 3sixteen jeans and Trucker jackets in shadow selvedge and double black denim we also received the updated version of the heavyweight fleece hoody in black. These run more true to size now so we no long advise you to size down for a slim fit.

  2. Pure Blue Japan's rope-dyed indigo knit sweat fabric is available in two new configurations.

The shawl collar sweatshirt and cardigan.

The fabric itself shows PBJ at its best combining high grade fabrics with their unique aizome / indigo dyeing prowess.

  3. Hey Danny, sorry we missed you on Friday.

Picked up a pair of the 3sixteen 77bsp for the Mrs (close run thing between them and the Railcar Vipers).

They fit really well from the outset but Junior was insistent we give them a soak before proper wear. Did this day before yesterday (damn those things bleed indigo - to quote someone else on this forum 'it looked like someone had murdered a smurf') and hung dried them overnight.

Mrs put them on yesterday to go out last night and came down with a massive grin on her face - the fit is now absolutely bang on and the soak seems to have darkened and crisped up the fabric a little. Whilst they haven't 'shrunk' as such they have tightened up in all the right places, just as Junior advised. She genuinely couldn't be happier with them and neither could I.

Please thank Junior & Jake for their time and patience - Not only does my wife really enjoy her new denim she also really enjoyed the process of choosing thanks to all the help and encouragement.

See you again in a few weeks when we are next down!

Glad to hear Mrs AD is happy with her 3sixteen 77 BSPs. Giving this denim a soak is not necessary for any shrinkage as they are truly sanforized but it actually activates the natural stretch inherent in the weave. The jeans then become even more fit forming and comfortable to wear.

Sorry I missed you. Let me know when you're coming down next time.

  4. The Railcar Fine Goods Spikes X021 jean uses a crisp 14.25 oz Kaihara selvedge denim from Japan. The fit has been slightly adjusted to give more room and movement on the thigh whilst retaining its slim silhouette.

It's easy to recognise the former Pasadena Line engineer Steven Dang at work when you dissect a pair of his finely crafted jeans
; a two piece waistband to achieve upper and lower fades and to reduce rear gaping, triple-stitched seat seams and belt loops that are tucked under the waistband for a strong and clean look.  The heavy American off-white cotton pocket fabric is one of those details you appreciate once the jeans have been broken in.

James is wearing size 32w. He is 188 cm tall and weighs 83 kg.

  5. Style, warmth and feel appeal are the hallmarks of any Iron Heart flannel. The IHSH-109 in red and black buffalo check comes with a double brushed lining and single brushed face. We carry all sizes from Small to XXXL. They have been rinsed once so will not shrink.

Junior here wears a small. He is 173 cm tall and weighs 65 kg.

  6. is the 1001 or the 3001 closest to the fit of 3sixteens ST cut? I wear an ST 220x, as well as a pair of SExI14s. I like the fit on both of those and am looking to get something similar. I have a 33 in the ST-220x and a 34 in the SExI14. Both fit well but are slightly too loose around the waist. I could *maybe* go a size down on the ST-220s and could easly go down from a 34 to 33 in the SExI14s. Would 33 be best in the 1001/3001?

Also how does flat heads denim compare to the ST-220 and SExI14s?

    Thanks

If you can size down to a 33 in ST-220x you could wear the same size in the 1001 and 3001. Keep an eye on the thigh especially in the 3001 which will be around 11.75" post shrinkage.

That said the SE05BSP or 3002 jeans are a closer fit to the slim tapered ST-220x

  7. Hey Danny,

I'm back in town briefly over the weekend of the 7th feb.

Whatever happens i'll be popping in to have a look at a few things i've had an eye on and also to try and broaden the wifes collection a little - i'd really like her to try on the women specific jeans you have at the moment as well as the slimmer mens styles that she likes.

Any update on the arrival of the 3sixteen kibata? I know it was scheduled for feb sometime so i'm keeping fingers crossed it coincides.

Hopefully see you when you visit.

I think we are looking at March for delivery of the kibata denim.

  8. I'm the same with the 13's, heard there may be another run in March but nothing in the calendar yet. Will be buying from Danny but keeping a close eye on Denimo's calendar

Just heard this morning that our X013 order will run in April with the X011 closely following.

  9. We have just received the Pure Blue Japan linen work shirts, Boro style patch work T shirts and indigo dyed Henleys.

The 100% linen work shirts are of a substantial 10 oz weight so suitable year round. The warp yarns are rope-dyed indigo. We have the black and white weft versions. The shuttle loomed fabric has an incredibly rich texture and depth of colour designed to yield some high contrasting fades with wear.

The Henleys use the deep indigo fabric of the crew and V neck T shirts. They come in short and long sleeve versions and feature denim covered buttons and deep indigo chambray piping in front opening.

Following the Japanese tradition of Boro fabrics PBJ uses 6 varieties of indigo fabric for the knit patchwork long sleeve T shirt.

All garments feature the Shoai (indigo plant leaf) emblem on the lower side seams. James is wearing a large in all items bar the patchwork T where he sized up to an XL. He is 188 cm tall and weighs 83 kg.

  10. The IH-666Sll arrived this week from Iron Heart. Indigo literally seeps out of every yarn of this 18 oz denim. The weft along with the warp threads have been rope-dyed in our favourite plant extract. The combination of a rigid denim and depth of colour guarantees high contrast fades with wear.

The 666 is a slim tapered fit. The jeans will lose an inch in the waist after an initial soak but quickly stretch back out. The 37.5" inseam will reduce to 36".

  11. Has anyone actually tried on both the HN-52W and HN-52WR, and has firsthand experiences between the differences of say a 44 WR and a 46W?

The difference is extremely negligible . From memory I'd say the chest measurements of the 44WR sits between the 44w- and 46w.

  12. The Flat Head flannels from the AW14 collection are now with us!

The Buffalo check shirts are available in the same rich Red from previous collections. The new Ivory and Sax Blue are both stunning  colour additions to this popular flannel range.

The inner lining is brushed for extra warmth. It's not until you actually touch and feel the -52w series flannels that you can really appreciate their quality. The 100% cotton fabrics are woven on vintage shuttle looms and sewn with a felled seam construction. We carry each colour in both western and work shirt versions.

We also added gift cards to our offering. They are electronic and can be purchased online directly from our webstore. You'll find them in the top menu bar.

  13. Real Japan Blues is the sister company of The Flat Head. The fabrics they create are on another level altogether and the Black Flower Paisley is no exception. The summery pattern belies the heavy cotton fabric. It has been woven on a jacquard loom giving it the three-dimensional diamond texture. The Paisley pattern is hand-printed.  This is one of those pieces we secretly hope never to sell out of.  (The Flat Head 52w Buffalo check brushed flannels arrive later this week)

The Flat Head slim tapered 3002 jean has been restocked and now comes with a 38" raw inseam. It uses the popular 14.5 oz. Pioneer selvedge denim with its unique vertical falling fades.
The images show the jeans in their raw state, worn by Junior for four months and a close-up shot of a pair we exhibit at the store previously worn for ten months.

The second Last & Loom collaboration boot arrived a few days ago. We opted for the same style Type 2 with double natural leather and half rubber sole for extra grip. It comes in chocolate brown leather.
A Brass screw wire is spun at high speed on a machine that screws the midsole, upper and insole together creating a super strong boot.
These specialist boot makers from New Zealand  use one of the last such machines still in existence. It dates back to the 1800's when the technique originated in Leicester, England.

Below is an image of the chocolate brown leather boot broken in by Hemi Pou who designs and builds the boot.

  14. Are you up to the task of piloting the helicopter in

    Mister Freedom's

This jacket will keep you warm and dry on any rescue mission with its

nylon twill shell , olive jungle 100% cotton windbreaker popeline lining and inner wool pile insulation.

We have introduced the X007 jeans from

    Pure Blue Japan

. This combines the double indigo super slubby denim with the slim straight fit. They can be worn dressed up due to the extra dark indigo hues and tonal stitching. However, beaten up they have a unique fade as one of the images below shows.

  15. We just restocked the rope-dyed indigo knit hoodies and crew neck sweaters from Pure Blue Japan.

The knit cotton fabric is luxuriously soft and no easy task to make. Then rope-dyed in indigo which will fade like denim.

They come with raglan sleeves. The X007 Jeans are here. Photos up by Wednesday this week.

  16. I need some sizing advice on a Flat Head shirt 7001. Having a hard time finding sizing charts.

I'm generally a US size L in most shirts. Levi's Slim Fit is an XL (but those shorts are really strangely sized). I'm an XL in IH shirts, and they're a bit tight across the chest.

I'm thinking 44. Maybe? Cheers! mpp

The best thing to do is measure a couple of shirts that fit you well in the chest pit to pit and compare with the 7001 size chart
