  1. well i will put these at the top of the rotation, also got blue ankles from these its hard to take them off! I have to use two hands for one leg as they taper so much but they should be fun, water wasn't blue really, well keep you updated....

how much has yours shrunk? I dread soaking or washing mine.

I need to stay away from the beers n kebabs!

  2. Ikeda - the cut is very tapered (~17cm hem), with a mid/high rise

It has some nice touches, little leather 'washers' on the rivets, purple lining in the coin pocket, purple lining reinforcing the stitching on the inside front pocket, purple lining on the belt loops.

White selvedge, denim is smooth and to my eyes the indigo has a purple hue to it.

No chainstitching in sight though - don't really know if that matters too much. Below is the inseam and hem.

  3. if what you are saying is true...

size 28 would be 30 true waist... if you are normally 31 that would mean you only sized down one...

If he got a 31, that would be true to waist. Diors are not true to size, they are vanity sized - see first page.

General consensus is to size down 2. He sized down 3 to a 28.

  4. Here's a minor update on my Heritage d85.

In a way I kinda like em fading slow and staying dark, because I wear them as smart jeans at work.

About 5months of total wear, 1 hand wash/soak, 2 machine wash.

    No flash.

  5. What's your opinion of the denim? You couldn't possibly get any up close pics of your pair, could you?

    All with flash.

    0001STF vs MIJ

    0001STF vs Deluxe.

0001STF and Deluxe not touched water, and unworn.

    MIJ soaked and been worn.

I know it's not a really fair comparison.

*Subjectively*, the STF feels kind of smooth and softish. Almost like a non-slubby lighter weight version of the deluxe.

From memory the MIJ when new felt slighty on the crispy, stiff, brittle side.

But the real proof in the pudding is after they've been soaked/washed and worn in a bit.

  6. mr.invincible - I think that fit looks fine. Have you tried saggin a bit to reduce the hip flare.

    Chambo -

    Those W32 No.1STF were closer to 36 - returned them, and got a W30. Which measured about a 34.

I was eyeing up the Ikeda, but it's still way too expensive.

And yeah I am stockpiling for the impending nuclear war.:P

  7. How long u been wearing them?

About 3 times a week for the last 10months. And before that every now and then. So that equates to about maybe 5months of actual (light) wear.

Yeah I know it's what you do in em, rather than how long...

But in comparison to my samurai's these are slow burners

  8. no point in breaking in jeans and then moving on the moment they've actually got some character to them...

    QFT.

I find it quite strange that, some people retire their jeans after achieving some decent natural fades/distressed.

Anyway, my D85 is starting to feel and looke a bit grimy especially after the recent heatwave in England. Prob gonna hold out until a work colleague have a quiet word with me.

Still no interesting fades to note of though.

  9. What do you mean? Also, you mind posting pics?

I've sent them back, but see pic from website below.

On the website it says Tagged W32 = 33.5. It actually measures 35.5.

I am exchanging them for a 30 and hopefully should measure about 33.5. (Eventually) after an initial wash/soak they should be about 31.5 or 32.

    Quote from evisu site;

"*NO.1 SPECIAL is cut in shrink-to-fit blocks (eg 0001STF), so you should buy your normal size for preshrunk jeans and wash before wearing."

  10. I went true to size with my 710xx2nds, and I made a mistake. I haven't been able to soak or wash them because the waist is pretty tight and doesn't like to stretch.

I'm afraid to soak or wash them because if they shrink in the waist even half an inch, I won't be able to fit in them.

I should've sized up one or two - probably two.

Wear them in the bath whilst soaking?

  11. mr.invincible.

    I wear a 32W 710x2nd. I got a 2000 #1 is 33W

The fit on me is quite similar.

Both had to be soaked whilst wearing incase of too much shrinkage, as they fitted not snug, but comfortable when raw.

  12. Chambo - The italian Evisu looks very nice. I'm not going to bid btw.

And those funky red pattern jeans reminds me of the early-mid 90's crazy Moschino era. ;)

CTB - Every evisu lover has got to have at least one pair of jeans that is considered as loud or funky :P
