I haven't seen many really nicely worn in LVCs, most are just like 6 months and one wash. Anyone holding on to any worn LVC pics?
37s especially!
all i have are LVC 47s. I just washed my first pair which are almost a year old now. maybe you'd like some pictures of those? I performed the worlds sheistiest crotch repair on the left side and over thanksgiving I created a new hole that needs repair. 37s are next on my list though.

I had a similar experience when I first got my 405s. I wasn't able to try them on cause I live in north carolina where there is only one really crappy alden dealer near me. So I had my foot measured there...big mistake. The guy measured me with a brannock device and told me I needed an 10.5C. So I ordered that size cause all i've heard told me that they run true to brannock size. So I got my shoes a few months later and they definately didn't fit. Because of this guy it took me forever to figure out what shoe size I was. Until I decided to get my foot measured at a orthopedic shoe store a few hours from where I live. She told me 11.5B. So I ordered, the shoes came, and fit perfectly. The guy at the alden dealer measured my foot from heel to toe and not heel to ball, which is apparently the only measurement that matters (besides width).

thats not a bad idea, thats where i've gotten both my red wings and they have great service. I'm guessing you got those from Cultizm, if so, dont be discouraged from using cultizm, they have a really good reputation and this isn't a normal occurance from them. good luck, and cool boots.

I wish I'd gotten in on this. I'm missing the hot deals left and right these days.
quoted for commiseration.

there is a company that makes an indy ripoff. theyre made to your measurements and are more expensive then aldens, so i guess thats not what those ebay bootlegs are. and theyre available in six colors.

Hey guys,
I'm looking to buy a pair of Levi's Matchstick Rigid.
On this website they appear to have a 'sheen' to them:
While on this one, they do not:

What gives? Is it the lighting? Anyone have any experience with this particular wash?
Thank you!
the one with the sheen is a better photograph of the denim.

those look like and are described like the raiders correct boot that was talked about at the club obi-wan forum. they're supposed to be exactly like the late 70s 405s. and they're more expensive. the dark welt looks a little strange though.

red wing 875s are a good start, they should run you about 175 from a red wing store. great quality, comfy, don't know if you'll like the sole though.
heres a link to the LL bean chippewa katahdin http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?storeId=1&catalogId=1&langId=-1&categoryId=49464&productId=848549&qs=5686477-Bizrate

yes, I would be very interested in a review of the wwII impressions boots. especially if it included an alden 405 comparison for sizing.

I could not find any info on this.
The Levi store in the Mall of America has a NonLVC, selvage, 1947 501 for $100. Does anyone know how this jean differs from the LVC 1947 501?
the non selvage 1947s i remember seeing were labeled as limited edition 1947, but you should make sure the employee knows what he/she is talking about and knows what 1947 refers to in both the LVC selvage and non lvc items. A lot of times they may think they are all the same thing. I've certainly had that problem before(with levis store employees that is).

Oh word? Lived in Raleigh all my life. The Levi store at Crabtree used to have LVCs for sale but that was like 2 years ago.
haha, crabtree! woo woo! I sized my first pair of LVCs there a couple years ago, and was really confused about how tight they were even though they were 33. the last LVCs I saw there were some really old distressed 47s and the 70s 517s.
NC State huh? my brother goes there, he doesn't rock LVC like me but I did convert him to 501 shrink to fit. hes a sophomore in the architecture program.
