  1. It wasn't until she rustled back into her cotton dress that I realized just how hot and funky this day was. Damn this chick smells earthy, I thought to myself, peeling a few dark tresses off my chest. I was tempted to say something out loud and start a tousle. A breath before speaking was all it took to shut me up; I was pretty "earthy" myself. I watched her bare heels wink out of the room and bit my tongue.

Three summer days without power -- it's enough to test any relationship, however new or old. Tempers flare, makeup is useless, showers are almost useless, normal people turn into sweaty, glowering, half-dressed beer gulpers (Woodpecker cider in her case). Home becomes like a hell, a damp punishment waiting at the end of the day, very much a prison complete with a cellmate. However, in this case the prison cliches are usually welcome. I forget who said this: If it's too hot to eat, you sleep; if it's too hot to sleep, you fuck.

...don't really know where to go with this...

    hope noone hates it :o

  2. If you guys get a chance to lay out the new global 501 cut next to a pair of LVC 1947 501's the similarities are impeccable. I had a chance to do this with a washed pair of 2008 501's and deadstock pair of 1947 501's, both in the same size. The leg shape was exact, not a centimeter off. The only difference I could note was that the 2008 501 was a half inch shorter in rise than the 1947 501. Pocket placement was exact. I also tried both on and could barely tell a difference in cut.

The new fabrics being used (in the US at least) are all Cone Mills denim, to boot! The new fabric they developed is aptly named "global blues," and feels soft, sturdy, and nubbly.

Do you have more info on this, Crackerhead?

  3. I love the way the fades and creases look on pictures of the tight denim but totally loath how they look when worn - most look like like a 14 year old girl is wearing them, but that's their look and I just can't get down with it.

    lawl

    I feel the same

  4. I disagree, i have all the measurements of my before and after soaking jeans. The hot soaking was indeed affecting my waist size, but not the inseam (which is the length).

Do you mean when they were new, or just a few days ago?

  5. waiting on a pair of hotei fan jeans i got during the sale. wondering if these are sanfordized, im assuming they are. they are the same greencast denim as the wrangler repros, looking forward to that.

got true to size, hoping they fit ok.

    anyone else have these?

I bought some too. Yes, they're sanforized. I sized down 3...they're already stretching, and I've only been wearing them for two evenings. You know what though, they're kind of slim. If you keep your belt snug you might simply have a slightly fuller leg.

    Thx jyoni :)

No.. It just been 3 days after their first soak. It is still hard though. Need to wear them more often. Wow they shifted? This means i may not be able to get good combs then :(

Dont you think its abit too baggy? i found it quite weird. but i like to wear that fit. haha

I would wait for more feedback on the combs man. That is really nice denim. Mine were end-run cheap. But I was on my knees constantly...I build stairs and install mouldings for a living, so I'm always scuttling around. Alas, my combs weren't great.

I like the fit now, heflys probably knows how much those will stretch.

  6. ^ I really like the fit. Have they stretched out fully?

Other people can answer your question about fades better, but I've done one cheap pair of jeans with a similar fit. They have a nice front imo, but the combs really never came through that well, and shifted on me after a soak.

  7. Thanks man :)

    I didn't know this (from Pitchfork) --

"Low has lost another bass player. Mimi [Parker] and Alan [sparhawk] are beginning to wonder if maybe THEY are the problem. Matt Livingston is no longer in Low and Retribution Gospel Choir. He is going through some personal situations right now that have made it impossible to remain with the band. Steve Garrington will be playing bass for both bands on tours coming up this year."

  8. I really enjoyed Brother's Keeper

    Brother's Keeper

59-year-old Delbert Ward lives with his brothers Bill, Roscoe, and Lyman on a dairy farm near the upstate New York village of Munnville. Barely able to function on an adult level, the Ward brothers keep to themselves, ignored and shunned by their neighbors. When older brother Bill dies on June 5, 1990, the authorities determine that his death was not from natural causes. Suspected of a mercy killing, Delbert is charged with second degree murder. It gradually becomes apparent that the police coerced Delbert into signing a confession, whereupon his neighbors, who previously wanted nothing whatsoever to do with the man, begin lobbying passionately for his release. It's not that they believe that he's innocent, it's simply that he is one of "theirs."

  9. And cheep - you're neg rep pushed me from green to red. ouch.

Strong is his neg rep, Imagine I would.

Laughter95, evisu.com has those black wash jeans too...maybe those would be more your flavor? They aren't selvedge but they are raw. They have a normal rise, higher pockets, and sound like they would produce a unique fade.

*edit ~ I know those black wash jeans are kind of low grade, but it was just a thought. Too bad those Mizuhiki Knot jeans have sold out of your appropriate size.
