  1. Not sure if superfuture would be too into these, but I figure it's worth a try. I picked up these shirts but realized they just weren't for me. Both a size small. the hickey size chart can be found here and is pretty accurate. Retail on these is $195. $55 each or both for $100.

Cranberry vintage stripe as seen here.

  2. The News sample sale starts tomorrow and goes through saturday. 495 Broadway. 5th floor. Band of Outsiders, Shipley & Halmos, Cheap Monday, Rogues Gallery, ect. No word on prices, but they apparently do this sale every once in a while so maybe someone can chime in as what it looked like in the past.

  3. doesn't matter. it's a hotdog, they suck equally everywhere.

So it took a while, but I tried both Grey's and Papaya King.

One thing I learned: Both hotdogs do taste the same. A hot dog is a hot dog.

Second thing: Grey's papaya is sweeter. Papaya King's is, unsettelingly, thicker.

Third thing: I'm not a real big fan of papaya either way.

  4. High Tension was god awful in every way. Not only was it not scary, but it didn't make any sense. Any at all. None. It was one of the most illogical things I've ever seen put on film, and that's not hyperbole. It insulted my intelligence and should have insulted any rational person.

  6. If anyone goes to the GANT sale today please report back, so I can figure out if I'm going tomorrow morning. Opens at 830 right?

came here to post the same thing.

  7. So I took my pair to an Italian octogenarian tailor to fix where the seam had come apart in the crotch a few weeks ago. I had worn them for a while like that (yeah, stupid, I know), so it had become pretty frayed. I gave him some denim scraps.

I come back in a week. He hands me back the denim scraps; he hadn't used them. He hands me my jeans. Rather than simply patching the hole, he had ripped the seam about and inch more on each side, then sewed it shut, tapering in to get rid of the fraying. Pretty amazing really, and I think it looks pretty good. $6, and although the front and back seams don't match up perfectly, looks perfectly new.

I'd post pictures, but I figure I'll just do that as things wrap up.

  8. The Guggenheim is even more expensive($18).

There are exhibitions at the NYPL that are always free. As is the Smithsonian run, Museum of the American Indian near Battery Park.

Some museums have pay what you want on Fridays after 6ish, which means free, if you don't mind looking like a real sleaze ball. They'll say if they do on their websites.
