Hi Sufers. This is my first post bridging the space time continuum.

My first time visiting SE back in May had me walking out with a pair of these, Kiya of course, had the underhand influence in suggesting the 28W.

I thought there would be more evolution pics on this thread seeing as how these jeans are fantastic, unfortunately I'm lacking the before pictures. For the most part, I've been wearing these since May (all of summer) and I can personally attest the breathability of these jeans.

Now, a very disparate compilation of thoughts:

I get a weird fade on my right thigh for not keeping anything in that pocket (as it is actually the outline of the pocket itself).

My opinions on the patch are all positive, I don't think the size of it at all encumbers the overall look of the jeans, especially since I don't wear a belt it becomes quite prominent. It has tanned really well from just natural exposure, I haven't oiled it but i tried rubbing some indigo off with a cleaner.

I was too lazy to get these hemmed properly so I ended up with a dumb style of cuffing.

I tried taking good pictures (last 3 pics are in the sun, the rest, in the shade and are more true to color).

Haha, I thought you owned a black pair too. Those look amazing man.

So, they wear well even in the heat?

Also, what waist size are you normally?

Thanks and keep rockin' the look.

p.s. just double the cuffs at a reasonable height. reduce the stacks w/o that flipped up look. Personally, I like it.

  2. ^ thanks, its been a while since i've done evolution of jeans type pics

here's one last shot of me right outside of the post office before sending off the evisus. i am wearing my hawaiis:

it really WAS rainy in the morning, but out came the sun and dried up all the rain

Those are boots, right? They look good either way. Hybrid cowboy boot/burgundy clogs.

  3. For reasons like Collies, prefade isn't all that bad. I should consider that for the future. I enjoy my overdyed look, though. Then comes the fade that you wear in pride, for you have earned that shit.

  4. I'd grab yourself a pair of 501 STFs. $50 and widely available in mall stores that try to "aim higher" in fashion selection.

I don't understand exactly why you want pre-faded, but I would guess that you want a pair a little more comfortable then the Sams to take a break in.

Follow that suggestion only if that's the case.

  5. I enjoy the back rise on them, yet I am also a fan of slimmer fits. Call me a Spartan woman, but I like showing definition.

True blue indeed. It looks amazing in most of those pics.

    Hella grats, John.

Though, my favorite part of jeans are always a good backpocket design, and these jeans are no exception. In fact, that design is damn beautiful.

  6. If i'm a true size 32, can I get these at 33 or 34 and not look like a ghetto piece of shit because at the same time, I'm not really feeling the mr. liberace look up above.

You're from NY or NJ aren't you? If not, you sound like you are.

    Fuckin' Liberace..

  7. ...I only have the SExIH01BKs...

Wow, they made those collabs in black? If so, I had no idea. That's awesome, though.

I love the fit. It's actually extremely comfortable. You have to wear the right stuff below and make sure all your documents are in order, though.

But, hey, these pants get me buko comments on the ass fit. If you're trying to flaunt something good, then these pants are the way to do it.

They're starting to stretch a bit since the soak, too.

Beautiful stuff. They look amazing and have a sick fit.

  8. I'm a bit nervous. Her first raw denim experience was KMW Rockers, and those aren't as stiff, initially rough as the SC denim. But she'll deal with it, they should soften up pretty quickly if she wears them enough.

Dude, my SEXSC took off the skin on the back of my left knee after the first two days. It might have been a bad idea to wear the pants straight through sleep for those first two days after arrival, though. That was a freakin' experience.. Gladly, it's healed just fine. Makes me wonder if I'll get a nice callus for breaking in future pairs, especially Iron Hearts.

Anyways, I had a day trip to my Cousin's Military School in Greensboro, VA, so I had the opportunity to take these pictures on the campus of the University of Virginia. It is such a beautiful place. Hell of a first time.

Mind, these are pictures after a cold soak for 1 hr, by Kiya's reccomendation. They are way tight on the thigh, but, again, the waist and inseam are just right.

6 days wear, 1 cold soak. Fade is fast. I love these babys.

Well, I also had to learn the hard way that my brother, who shot these photos, doesn't really have my back. He recomended that I go commando in order to wear these still partially damp pants easier after the cold soak shrinkage. What a jackass.

    Enjoy.

Haha, the cuff/stack pic is unnecessary, but I am just too damn excited to not post them. Because the pictures are angled, I would appreciate feedback on the effects it both does and may create. If it flavors, as intended, tell me. If it distorts in any way, this guy still wants it straight.

Mmm, the future smells like Sugar Cane to my ass. Actually, a bit like some Imperials. Maybe even Iron Hearts.

  10. Well, this would be my first pair of selvage. They fit fucking tight. I can't move without grating skin off my thighs and knees. I love it, though. There goes the cherry.

They have amazing color. Almost striped with different concentrations of indigo. These pants are gonna open my world up.

I'll post fit pics when I can get my hands on a camera.

  11. Haha, I found that to be a wholly entertaining article. That segment about the "hiring tactics" was ok. I enjoyed the large theme of cocaine and how it fueled the unusual cheer of retail employees.

I thought cocaine was kind of scandalous when I started working at American Apparel. And so I naturally found it kind of scandalous that a major coke dealer actually served as a kind of informal HR chief for many of the American Apparel stores in New York. He happened to be this guy I knew from a completely different set of circumstances in a completely different city, and he had gotten into the business at, like, 13, so unlike your coke dealer or your best cokehead friend's coke dealer this was a guy who actually knew, like, how to use weapons.
American Apparel wasn't like that; you knew where your clothes were coming from and that the people sewing them were pretty stoked to be working there. They made an average of $13 an hour, $4 more than the starting salary for a retail worker. Wage-wise, the retail workers were at the bottom of the totem pole, the real sweatshop workers of the organization. But they seemed like they were the most excited to be there. For which I always credited coke.
  12. Meh, food for thought. Atleast it wasn't you all that had to go through this shit of a situation. Make fun if you will, but I feel for the guy. That is something to freak out about.

Plus, the pictures were just as funny as fucking hell.

  13. Mine should be coming in tomorrow. This would be my first pair of selvage. I've owned a pair of 501xx STF for 2-3 months that began my journey.

Hopefully these guys work out for me! I went with the 30"(31") because of the shrinkage. I am a true 30", but I believe there's also stretching in these. All I hope is that the slim cut will even things out if they're too large. Atleast they would make for a good faux-straight, then.
