  1. Here are my SEXSC02 after 2mo of hard wear. I'm planning to wear them onband off with my new Ori's starting tomorrow.

Intial cold-soak, 2 machine washes (New Years Eve and ECC Yo-Yo Contest [mud, vomit, XXXX])

These guys stretched very nicely. The slim cut molds to your body rather than restricting it. It could be the thin denim used. Even before washing them the denim was very thin.

    Love these guys.

  2. 7/60 just arrived for me today. They look amazing. They are very simplistic, yet they are also artistic. The Ori's seem to pull from their simple design with all of the hand-painted and hand-crafted touches to show one the simple beauty in nature. Right on, Steven!

It went dark by the time I buttoned the bamf's. I'll take fit pics tomorrow afternoon.

Here's the unwrapping process, though. An experiece in its own.

I did try them on before I left for work. The fit is great. The high rise works against you if you sized true, though. Split my boys trying to button up. I hiked them really quick, then sorta crossed my eyes in pain.

As soon as the waist stretches, they'll be just right.

I like not having to worry about initially soaking them. Go sanforized jawns!

Also, The inseam is giant. I would guess that it's 34" to 36" on a Size: 30 (29" waist).

Nice little medium pink selvage line. I think a lot of people claim it's red, but I'll snap a cuff in natural light tomorrow as I'm getting initial fit pics together.

  3. I own the SC41955 of whose denime the SExSC is based on. I've washed these jeans over 5 times now, and they will only improve with age. The OE feel on these jeans is deliberate. They aren't meant to be as slubby as a pair of Sams. They'll break down great over time. Just keep wearing them.

Ahaha, that would explain a lot. The denim is comparatively thin against other r/r denim.

What contributes to the thickness of denim? I have my thoughts, but I'd prefer making sure I have the right ones.

  4. The biggest things that contribute to the "cheap denim" feel you are talking about are the agitation of a machine wash and the subsequent loss of starch and the machine drying which can be pretty tough on the jeans. They are just jeans, so don't worry about it...once you have worn them for awhile without washing they will start to build up some texture from the dirt and grime of everyday life and they will feel a lot better. If you want them stiffer again, you can definitely starch them, although I have only had mediocre to bad results when starching, and with as tight as those jeans are on you, you don't need to starch to keep breaking them in. Don't worry about the color loss either, in comparison to most Japanese denim, those Sugarcanes are actually pretty light blue and look better as they get lighter. Just keep wearing the shit out of them, and by summer they will have an amazing broken in, vintage look to them. I saw a pair of SExSCs at the Selfedge party that have me really excited about how they are going to turn out, and made me think about picking up a pair myself.

Definitely do. They're worth every cent.

Thanks you very much for the reply. That helps a lot. It's all very good information to keep in my head.

  5. I come in need of help. New Years Eve was a bad night.

I wasn't thinking straight and washed and dried all of my newly dirtied clothes, including my jeans, in a machine washer and dryer with generic detergent. It was a hot wash without my pants being flipped inside-out.

Afterwards, my denim felt cheap like OE shit, they hella shrunk, and they no longer hold my bodies shape after I take them off. The detergent was a bad idea, but the machine dry probably did the final blow.

They're recovering from their cheap look after returning the wear in them. My only question is should I starch these puppies?

I'd like them to continue breaking in, yet they look and feel too weak to do jack shit anymore.

The color loss was what really got me. They had a deep, rich indigo color before they went on a walk through hell.

I also pose the following question: Would a machine dry or the use of regular detergent do more harm to R/R denim?

  6. Would the ability of the jeans to hold your body's shape after you've taken them off be more a result of double ring spinning or the factory's starching?

Papa Smurf, it seems that the tighter it fits, the less whiskering you'll get since it isn't bagging up in small folds. I'll start paying attention more to where my cellphone sits while I'm wearing pants.

It seems the area where I stick my cell phone in my right front pocket has stretched a lot because of my jeans pulling that area tight while I'm sitting. That seems like it would balance out the overly tight fit enough for defined whiskers to form.

  7. here is an update for my redwing 2143, just give it a little shine with meltonian ...wear them regularly almost at least 4 times a week...i think is about 2 years or 3 years...

    Those look great!

It's funny that I wear the younger brother of those shoes.

Dat is rocking a nice pair of boots. They aged well. I didn't really catch the indigo ankle ring, though.

  8. That's good stuff. I like the roomy slim fit. What sizes are both you and the jeans?

I've looked at measurements for the imp. duke's, and the SEXSC are larger. People always talk about the bone-tight fit.

The key is to size up. Stay true if you want the tights.

  9. Dex, care to elaborate? Then, I'll think about what I've done to make you think that is.

As for the recommendation to not vent, that goes against my whole point in posting this. If it annoys you, then don't read it.

You calling me annoying doesn't tell me what I should or shouldn't do in the future. A post of explanation would have been more useful than some snide comment. That shit's pretty offensive.

  10. Yeah, I wear a 13 shoe normally and have a wide foot. Around what size should I be looking at in boots?

banker, those look amazing! What are they exactly? A shoe like that may be exactly what I'm looking for.

First, I need to visit a place that sells boots to try them on. Boots may look terrible on me. Screw ordering them online before I'm concrete on how they'll look on me.

  11. Do people REALLY dress that badly over in the states, or was that pic for Halloween?

Their lower wear is ridiculous. I've never seen baggy knee stacks like that. Maybe they are/were trying to bring about a style revolution.

Thorough, I was about to say the same thing about the stacked 501's. It looks like a picture dug up from my parent's childhoods. The only thing missing is the abundance of white-boy afro's.

Finally, I have to admit that expensive designer jeans annoy me greatly. My friend got into the idea that me and my brother were starting to wear selvage denim. He decided to buy True Religions. -rep.

I've checked the things out. All I saw was big pockets on pre-washed/distressed denim.

  12. they probably actually can't see the difference. the differences between most pairs of jeans are fairly minute if you're not accustomed to looking for them. what's the difference between Levi's STF and a pair of Diesel? the answers are obvious but not if you dont look for them.

The first time I saw a pair of FH3001 in person, I thought they were just jeans. When I was later told by my brother that they were $300, I replied, "Why!?"

    Now, I have been trained.

It's kinda funny. I'm always so proud when I point out the finer aspects of my jeans like the ostrich leather patch to people and exclaim, "Isn't that bad ass??" They usually just laugh.

Today someone said they were genuinely interested in why I wear the same pair of pants everyday since I bought them. After I got to the washing part, more specifically the lack of, she just started ranting on how "nasty" that was. Oh well, I tryed.
