  1. From a local paper:

Yohji Yamamoto: For the intellectual Japanese designer the show Friday night was one beautiful note. Long, lean monastic coats and dresses came out one after another, punctuated only by red flat shoes and a red hair accessory. This is Yamamoto’s territory, deconstruction and menswear – a black tuxedo jacket as cocktail dress. There was little decoration – just the drape of fabric at the neckline or a long panel of fabric hanging at the back of a lean sheathe.

  2. Also, gfunkdocta, there are lots of business-casual appropriate gothninja pieces, especially since business casual is just a loose definition of a dress code.

But I guess most of that stuff is pretty boring and you don't want to rationalize your purchases/compromise your outfits to fit into your workplace. Still, you do have options...

  3. You really didn't like it?

Lots of stiff acting (by the Hmong cast mainly) and some scenes were rather contrived to show how much of a bigot he was (like the one you mentioned), but I was captivated enough by Clint's performance to let it slide.

Not many people can deliver a line like ("What's it like to kill someone?) "you don't wanna know!" without sounding overly cheesy or just downright silly.

  4. Just watched Gran Torino. Instant favourite, definitely one of the better films I've seen in recent memory.

Also, Clint Eastwood has got to be the baddest seventy eight year old motherfucker out there.

  5. The baby's not dead! I rewatched the ending and the question was phrased "IS it a boy or a girl?"

Further investigation into the matter uncovers that *UNCONFIRMED SPOILER* it was a boy (name Andrew) that she gave away for adoption.
