  1. Wellllll let's just chalk up my less-than-sunny disposition to drug use. My choices have a lot to do with why I can't talk openly with other people. Not to mention that I'm a quiet dude who feels alienated from the unwashed masses (as I imagine many users here are)

and I was seeing the doctor under the pretense of having an anxiety problem (which I used to have,) but in reality, I've been milking his office for a long-running prescription for benzodiazepines (which I rarely take myself, if you catch my drift)

Damn dude, you engage in a lot of self-defeating behaviours. Don't want to sound too blunt (or cliche) but you need to man up and deal with your shit. Seriously though, go into the belly of the beast, face your fears yadda yadda all of that. Get outta the wild and reclaim the throne like Simba, nawmsayin? Otherwise this kind of stuff will just eat away at you.

  2. I'm no psychiatrist, but it seems to me that you might be going through a stage of depression, and it might be a good time to do some self-evaluation (people are really good at discovering their true self-worth while depressed). Is there anything in life you enjoy? Is there someone's company that you particularly enjoy? Just try to find a little bit of good in your life and grab hold of it. I'm sure there are many people surround you that care a great deal about you, so you're definitely not alone in this world. Just try to take a step out there, little by little, and I'm sure you'll find something good in this world.

Unfortunately, one of the main signs of a depressive stage is the inability to find joy in life.

How long have you been feeling like this, ghost? If more than a month or so you should probably pay your psychiatrist another visit. Avoid drugs (Rx) though. Just talk it out, it'll do wonders. Good luck.

E: Actually, if you don't mind me asking, what were you seeing your psychiatrist for anyway?

  3. If you are expecting to receive a return, you don't really have to worry about the deadlines. The government only cares about you paying them on time. Only speaking for Canada though.

  4. summer in the big red china is crazy hot, especially august. kinda depends where you'll be though. what areas you gonna be stayin at?

edit: o yea, i have 3 china trips planned for this year: July, Sep, and Nov. July and Sep is gona suck due to the heat, especially since i'll be in the country where they never heard of AC.

I leave June 7th and I'll be there for a month.Summer is scorching I know, but as a student I don't really have a choice.

Tentatively, 上海, 杭州, 西安, and 广州. And if time permits, a day or two in Hong Kong.

Fallen, any must see destinations or scenery spots? I'm originally from Guangzhou but it'll be my first time seeing those other places (gf's family)

  6. It's always interesting to see these admissions decisions:

For the most part, the only dudes getting in with a sub-2200 SAT I (and generally less than exceptional academics) are under represented minorities and those with legacy.

I feel for "canadianftw" (first on page 3), got outright rejected everywhere with a near perfect IB.
