  1. Yeah take it @ 700, the other sale a couple of months ago was for that period too, doubt it will be that cheap again unless they have spare seats.

Only thing I cannot stand about flying with Jetstar is the stop at Cairns, leaving Melbourne in the morning and getting there a few hours later you're suddenly hit by the massive change temperature and humidity. Plus there's no Qantas Club there :(

  2. yo, for those in the know, do jetstar JP flights ever get much cheaper than 700 return? or any other carriers for that matter.

Yeah they do, got myself a return trip from Melb > Cairns > Narita and back for just $518 in Feb this year....booked it I think the first week of Jan. Prior to that I scored return tickets for $680 last August.

Just wait it out and once the sale pops up, grab your tickets ASAP. Don't think i've ever flown to Japan for over $900, although I wish accommodation was cheaper there.

  3. Avoid Tiger, far too many problems with them - my neighbour works at Melbourne Airport and sees how bad they are almost everyday. I'd rather pay triple the price to avoid them; never had an issue with any of the other budget airlines though.

  4. Since i'm only 17 years old, can I still buy beer around here? The shinjuku,shibuya/harujuku area would be nice. I only have 2 days left here, and I just want to have a drink and relax and soak it all in.

I only know some basic Japanese ><;.. would it be hard for me to get some?

The convenience store has beer .. i'm wondering if they'd ask me for my age or an I.D (which I don't have :/)

    Thanksss!

edit;; Found out the limit's 20.. ><;; nuuuuu.

Unless you've got a baby face you'll be fine; First time in Tokyo I was 17, bought beers at Lawsons and Family Mart almost daily without ever an ID check. Like wise with ciggies, they prob knew I was underage but didn't care at all.

Otherwise just find a vending machine.

  5. EDIT: I think it's a mistake to steer clear from Crown, it has some of the best restaurants in Melb imo. Definately try out Koko, Jay Jay's Bar & Grill, Nobu, Rockpool, and if you're a dessert freak like me, Conservatory buffet has a dessert buffet option, $20.50 and comes with a coffee or tea. I still want to try Maze but they said it's 6 months booking in advance for Fridays and 8 months for Saturdays.

Agreed, Crown used to be very average but nowadays it's one of the best places to eat; almost can't go wrong.

LOVE Nobu and Rockpool, neither are cheap but I try to go once every few months.

As for Korean BBQ, dunno too many places but there's a decent joint in Box Hill, just off Station St. Actually, I think it's called "Korean BBQ", last time i was there it was around $30 for all you can eat, was very much full when I left.

  6. any better place to ask sizing? [email protected] not responding and i guess this should be discussion board, there are better sources for product releases and so on. so we are asking and the reasons are obvious. anyway noone is answering sizing issues.

Because every few weeks you get the same question and the poster doesn't bother reading previous posts in the thread, therefore no one can be bothered responding.

Can't imagine how many times people have asked about sizing for various models.

  7. +1 for Rockpool steaks. As a massive steak fan, it's pretty much the best i've ever had in Australia and i've had quite a few steaks.

Cape Grim Dry Age 36 month old grass fed, bloody amazing; medium-rare of course. Cannot stand when steak is over cooked, rather blue rare than well done.

  8. There is some commercial burrito place in Hawthorne, which is from a US chain, but I've heard average things about it.

I've been past High Tech Burrito quite a few times but never bothered to go in. I'll go past next wednesday and try it out.

Don't mind Misty's Diner, very American with the annoying retro feel which annoys me but the food makes up for it.

  9. Any recommendations for Mexican restaurants in Melb? Havn't been to any in the city, coz with mexican being a lot of sauces and dips, if it's dodgy it can be really bad lol. Would love some good chilli :D

Mamasita on Collins or Mad Mex in Prahan.

Used to crave Mexican food like crazy and decided to go to a Taco Bill, which turned out to be a truly horrible experience. Although be warned, Mamasita will prob have massive hype now since a few reviews have been published in the Age and else where but you won't be disappointed with it.

  10. Maybe a decade ago but these days I doubt that there's that much of a difference in quality. It's the same machinery used, same processes and standards, only difference is where it's made.

Anyway i'd rather not get into a debate about something so trivial.

  11. The whole Made in China vs made elsewhere debate is so stupid. Just because something is made in China doesn't mean it's of less quality than if it were produced in Japan.

  12. Maybe it's what you were asking them about; I don't think they reply to much apart from product faults and repairs.

Just keep emailing if you need, I sent 4 or 5 emails and finally they got back to me, now each reply seems to take a week or more.

  13. I thought so too but recently had an issue with my FBT Lhamo Folks, took them a while to respond but eventually they do. Still getting the issue resolved unfortunately.

Just be prepared to wait more than a week for a reply.
