  1. my friend is about to leave tokyo and is going to grab me some logan lo's. i am a US 10 in vans authentics (could wear a 10.5, though).

10 for sure but I can't see them having logan lo's left…..depending on which ones you were referring to, they dropped in Feb and most sold out instantly.

  2. ^ Devo. Hope the phone was an old piece of shit! Haha.

Before I go asking around like a noob. Anybody want to hit me up with info on the best way to handle finances when in Japan? I know quite a few of the peeps in here have been before and just wondering how you did it?

I checked those travel cards and they are retardedly expensive with their fees. Are travel cheques easy to cash in and not hit with bad fees in Japan? I heard Visa and Mastercard don't work either. :(

Any help would be appreciated guys. Thanks!

Japan is a cashed based society, with little crime you won't get robbed. I took around $4k AUD in cash, kept about ¥30,000 on me for everyday stuff like food, topping up my Suica etc plus more Yen for what ever I was planning to buy.

You CAN use certain credit cards / debit cards depending on what type it is. My Mastercard worked fine at FIL Tokyo even though the first time it wouldn't work, although it didn't work at Comme Des Garcon yet my friend's did.

Personally I'd suggest just take as much cash as you can, I wouldn't bother with travel cheques.

  3. Surprised no one has noticed the new Kiefers that just got released:

This Thursday saw the release of the latest pair of Keifer-Hi's from Visvim.

Coming in black, white and brown and featuring a subtle pattern strip around the top of the ankle and down the back of the shoe, they available now in all Visvim stockists

Quite like them, might get a pair providing the price isn't over the top - anyone know how much they retail for?

Sole looks weird on these, was keen on the '73 VD from early pics but will have to wait to see other images.

  4. If you're talking about the store I think you are, they have been saying that a while apparently, about Vis anyway. Word is they got an account a while ago, didn't order anything and had the account revoked.

Do you mean Chiodo? They've been saying for ages that they'll be getting Vis but still nothing.

I would love it to be false rumour though, I'm moving to Mel soon and it would be killer to actually live in a city where you could see the goods in the flesh instead of pulling the trigger over photos on the intertubes.

    See below.

Im surprised Someday hasn't picked up a Vis account.

    They will be soon-ish.

I've heard rumours that prices MIGHT be going down next season, can anyone here confirm that?

  5. Hiroki said in some interview that they do burn old stock at the end of the year but I don't know how true it is anymore considering there's usually old stock in the back room of FIL Tokyo.

  6. What a race, absolutely shattered when Webber went out - thought Vettel basically had one hand on the WDC and then an engine failure; couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke :P

Don't think Alonso will win the WDC, it's all going to come down to who Red Bull go behind and if Webber and Vettel don't do anything stupid to each other.

  7. Cool Trans magazine brings us a first look at an upcoming collaboration between NYC based brand Supreme and Universal Studios.

The Mummy, The Creature and the Phantom will appear on T-shirts (Â¥12,600) , sweatshirts (Â¥19,950) and pullovers (Â¥22,050) and are due for release here in Japan at the end of September.

  8. Not being a Collingwood or St Kilda supporter, I find the draw hilarious. Anyone else think so? :P Although, I was in the city yesterday and was in the mood for a pub meal for lunch but couldn't get a table anywhere which sucked.

Means another day of work for me and another week I can continue to find another job so yeh, thank god for the draw.

  9. A friend of my family and his brother own a few pubs / cafes around town, from seeing the shit he has to go through, dunno why anyone would want to get into that type of business unless they're willing to give everything they've got and sacrifice a lot of time and money. With that said, if you're that committed then go for it but you'll need to have a huge financial backing. He and his brother had a fair bit of money already from their father, still they had to approach investors to cover basic costs.

I'd suggest you get someone to manage the business while you work on it, one of the brothers' marriage is basically failing due to him being forced to put so much time into the business and the other one is constantly stressed. No idea why they don't consider selling the businesses; the land they own is worth $15 mil+.
