  1. There's probably a lot of options out there if you dig; tho I was a bit disappointed in the LEAF branding (I thought for sure they'd have what you were looking for...). But for pure WR function - nothing will beat a well integrated hood.

  2. ^^^^ The sizing issue gets mentioned quite a bit - but given how they list their measurements and describe the Fit (txt + img), I've never had an issue. Sized down one from my standard M on both the DS and the GT-J29 for a slimmer fit.

04/05 cuts were def. a bit roomier than what they're pursuing now - as pointed out in the BOF article (which was good, BTW), but just pay attention to the numbers. Veilance has been a harder datum to define, personally.

  3. the people behind the program don't know entirely what they're doing yet

Berkeley has, historically, been a fantastic program - both grad and undergrad. One of our summer interns (going into her senior year at UCB) was trying to explain all the turmoil that's been going on as of late - change in directorship, realignment of curriculum, etc...seems like it's been quite stressful on the CED student body-

FWIW, CED was one of the biggest proponents of the 4+2 system (wayyyy back in the 60's, so ain't a matter of immaturity of the undergrad program) - and I'd assume (correct me if I'm wrong) that the particular sequencing of their programs still has a lot to do with that idea.

Some notable graduates in there ;)

  4. While I don't buy into the non-aircooled, pre-996 bias, the later model 944s are pretty bombproof.

It may be a bit apples/oranges but the E39 cost way more in parts and maint. then my 951. Obviously a big difference in technology and complication (and overburdened with 'safety' design), but simply put, its far easier to work on the Porsche than it ever was on the 540. Pelican Parts is your friend, and nobody will ever be able to convince me that a well-maintained 944 is more trouble with a late model 5-series.

Apples/apples; the E28 isn't awful, aesthetically - but what's there really to compare when the 535i is a 4 door sedan topping out at 181hp?

That aside, a clean 993 Turbo is my true 'grail'

  5. I want to trade my 5 series BMW for a 944 Porsche but unless I get a Turbo version, the regular version gets pretty much the same performance and mileage...

Do it! (disclaimer: I went from an 02 E39 to an 86 951)

Trying to see how many more years I can get away with a non-ODBII vehicle....

  6. Seen plenty of shitty monographs to know that picking up something like that is more than just liking the artist.

Dunno if this is a generational gap; at first I thought you were just dense, but now I kinda feel bad that you aren't getting it.....
