  1. I guess my style was kind of depicted what my interests were over the years.

Middle School--If it had Nike, Adidas, Polo, Guess, Tommy, or Abercrombie on it, I was all over it. Never really had a style or a look, I just loved sports and since my friends did too, I figured I should reflect what they had on.

Freshman Year of High School--Got pretentious about the music I listend to, started skating and snowboarding, and my clothing style changed as well. I wore a lot of band t-shirts and generic skating brands that were a size too big and jeans that were relaxed cut and two sizes too big. For shoes, I always went with Puma and Vans.

Sophomore Year of High School-Went away from the pretentious music stage, got into video games, tennis, and yo-yo's and finally found my real high school friends. I started wearing polos that were now two sizes too big and a lot of dorky looking wide-legged khakis.

Junior Year of High School--Found a girl I thought I loved (lawlz) and she really changed my style. We went for weekly clothing trips at Gap, Banana Republic, etc. I basically looked like a complete tool--as if I had just grabbed the clothes off the manequin. She did make me realize, however, how poorly my clothes fit me. So I looked like a Gap model--at least my clothes fit.

Senior Year of High School--The girlfriend broke up with me, I panicked, and realized I was buying clothes for her, not myself, and my interests were changing to match her, and not myself. All my girl friends were trying to comfort me, help me out, that kind of deal, so I ended up buying a shit load of clothes from Abercrombie, Diesel and 7FAM jeans, more Gap/BR, some pseudo high-end Eurotrash like Energie, Armani Exchange, etc. Thought Asics were the most awesome, unique shoes ever.

Late Senior Year and Pre-College--Realized I needed some help since the girlfriend was gone and all my friends were off to college as well. I ended up trying to find all of these style tips from shitty sites like Askmen and shit. Found Styleforum, got a pair of Nudie Masa sized down two (lawlz), wore them to school, got laughed at for how tight they were, and swore never to go on SF again. Then realized how stupid I was for buying them so tight, bought a pair of Regular Ralfs true to size, and never went back. I wore a lot of basic tees from H&M, Apolis, Zara, etc with Vans, NikexAPCs, and Chucks.Found Superfuture, laughed at some of the hypebeastiness, loved some of the fits (Mike Lowrey's old stuff), got deeper into denim but couldn't buy any of it.

College to current--Pretty confident in my clothes now. Wearing Skulls, Imperials, and PBJs for jeans, much slimmer than my Nudies but I love them and I think they fit me well. I wear my jeans slim/regular fitting, tighter than most guys at my school but at least they are proportionate and not sloppy like everyone else here. For tops I still do a lot of basic stuff with nice outerwear/hoodies from MJK, W+H, Spruce, etc. Pretty happy with what I have going.

Man, that was fucking weird realizing how all that shit changed my clothes so easily.

  2. Still a bit drunk right now, but what a wonderful night.

Got all dressed up in Halloween steez (a ping pong grand master) complete with short shorts and a tight H&M white polo. Went to a block party where every house on the block had a keg. Got drunk, made out with quite a few girls, came back and "COCKS" and "CRABS!" all over some guy's face. Not a bad night.

  3. Went out to the local bar's "Wenesday fill-up night". You basically bring a huge container and they'll put a gallon of beer in it for $3. Not bad, but I almost got fucked since my fake is shitty. So yeah, bartender almost took it away but my friends convinced him I was 21 and it was real.

Got drunk with the guys, took a cab back with a friend and two girls. We realized we didn't have any money, so I thought this guy was going to fucking kill us. My friend ran up to his room and grabbed whatever he thought he could pay the guy with, which turned out to be a sizeable amount of weed, and sure as hell the cab driver accepted.

We split off and I took one of the girls back to my dorm. Luckily the roommate was at the library. I got the worst head of my entire life, walked her back to her dorm, came back and tried to do homework but ended up passing out on my computer.

  4. i have sat through this whole thread reading all zillion pages. But, I still want to be very careful. Its a big step going from Levis to APC (well it is for me atleast). This will be the first time I will be spending more than a $100 for jeans. Its like buying my first car. I want it to be perfect. Ok so ill cut to the chase. I know about the size down 2 and almost everything that has to do with measurements for the New Standard. Even though im super confident I just want someone to back me up for security. I measured my waist (where i want the jeans to sit) and its a 37. Whats I came up with was since APC denim seems to be a size smaller than the tagged size and I would have to size down 2, I would have to get a 34. Which would give me a 35 brand new. Which is what 2 sizes down from my waist is.

    amiriteorwut?

p.s. i want them to not fit tight but fitted.

You're a 37 waist? I would say you should not be wearing NS then. You're probably a bigger guy and you should probably go with Rescues.

  5. If they are sharply creased, they should fade. Honeycombs usually take the longest to fade and need long periods between washes IMO. There are exceptions to this though. Have you got pics?

That's the thing--I bought the jeans off the marketplace awhile back. They were worn for two weeks, I believe. They were rather soft, though, but the creases on the lap came in really well pretty fast. The honeycombs aren't really creased at all compared to my Nudies or my Imperials.

  6. So I've been wearing my Skull 5507s on and off for about six months (rotated quite a bit with my Imperials and PBJs). I'd say they have about 2-3 months of good wear in them. I'm getting a good wallet fade and pretty defined fades on the legs, along with a few lap creases losing indigo and slight stacking fades too. But no honeycombs. Honestly, they're so faint it's almost ridiculous.

Any idea why they just aren't getting honeycombs?

  7. How difficult is it for a tailor to take in the waist on jeans? My Dukes fot grreat everywhere but the waist and its really starting to annoy me. How much should i expect to spend?

    Thanks

I paid about $20 for the waist and a hem. So I'm guessing a hem was probably $6-8, and the waist made up the rest of the cost.

You should just get an inch taken out max, otherwise the fit starts to look disproportional.
