  1. I just moved into a new house with 2 chicks from my university. The one chick's dad just bought the house from its 90-year-old widow and she lived there for a bit as a renter after she sold it. As a result there is still tonnes of the old widow's family's shit in the house from living there for the past 60 years. I'm not sure why the new owner or his daughter hasn't cleared some of this shit out...

So I am brushing my teeth last night and open the medicine cabinet to snoop. It is full of the widow's and dead husband's shit! There is some preperation-H, a very creepy looking pair of dentures, a toothbrush from like 1940, and lo-and-behold, a gillette adjustable safety razor in its original travel case (looks like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/1961-GILLETTE-1-9-ADJUSTABLE-MINT-CONDITION-W-ORIG-BOX_W0QQitemZ140209646306QQihZ004QQcategoryZ35989QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) It has a date code imprinted on it of F1 which dates it to 1960.

Being a fan of safety razors, I naturally nicked it. But I felt really weird shaving with it this morning. I assume that it's last owner used it until the day that he died, and there was the visible remenants of the deceased's last shave from maybe 30 years ago: a small amount of stubble and dryed shaving cream.

Do you think the dead guy's ghost is gonna be pissed that I nicked his razor and am shaving with it?

  2. I think the wallys and the Skull's look good money.

Did you size up on the 5010's?

Yeah I sized up from a 28 to a 29 on the skulls. The pictures above only show the 29s. They have loosened up considerably in 2 months but not to the point of being too big - they are just right now.

  3. Cross-Post from "how do jeans fit..." thread

Another Skull 5010xx 6x6 raw fit post

    Size 29 - 6"/185cm, 135lb/61kg

    First wear:

    2 months - softened / loosened up a bit:

...I'm a bit undecided about the fit still, but I've kind of committed to myself to wear these until they blow up anyway. I am also having troubles deciding what kind of shoes go well with these. I bought some wallabees (pictured) but I've only worn them a few times b/c I think they are a bit luggish with the straight slim leg and I have to wear a roll to make them look right at all.

  5. FWIW, my knees are the same way - the threads show on the outseam a little bit. In my case it doesn't look like the outseam is going to explode or anything so I haven't worried about it. I guess it happens just because the denim is so damn stiff.

  6. Since the indigo on these is quite stubborn from the sounds of it, i wouldn't worry about losing tonnes of indigo in the wash. If you've worn them 4 months now I say wash them - especially if they are looking like shit because of salt stains etc. IMO worn denim is cool, not so much dirty ass denim.

    Wash them and post pics!

  7. Measurements from Self Edge's website:

    w: 29.3

    inseam: 37.5

    thigh: 10.3

    leg opening: 7.1

    rise: 9.7

By my measurement, the waist is very slightly larger than the Self Edge measurements at ~29.75". The other measurements are the same as Self Edge's website.

Here are a few fit pics of the jeans from when I was evaluating them for size

  8. i wear 32 in Jim's, tried skull size 30 and i cant button up, maybe i'll size up more just like 31 or 32. i really like the cut and the stack. great ....

i think it would be my next pick up.. looking for good price then..

If you mean 32 in Slim Jims and 30 in skull 5010xx RAW - then you should buy a 32 (super tight) or 33 (tight) in the skulls. I am a size 28 in Slim Jims and a 28 (RAW) in the skulls was too tight too wear in my experience at least (had to lay down on a bed to button all the way, breaking a huge sweat). I have a 29 now and it is still a very tight fit but I think they will stretch to fit very well. I no longer have ball cleavage, which is nice.

  9. Where exactly are these raw/dry/rigid for purchase online? I checked Sears, but they weren't the kind featured on this thread. When I googled I only found a few results, Urbanoutfitters had them in 'Riff' for 49.99, but I'm not sure that's the same. Anyone?

I purchased mine (pictured in this thread) at Urban Outfitters in Edmonton Canada.

A search for "levis 511 rigid" on google shows that JC Penney is selling them at $34.99 each if you buy 2 pairs or $54 for a single pair:

    http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?DeptID=53091&CatID=53091&Grptyp=PRD&ItemId=1235f88

The "Riff" model on Urban Outfitters is a washed/distressed denim - not what you want.

As a side note for anyone that's interested, Levi's site says that the 511 uses 12.5 oz denim.

  10. <snip>

Anyone have any experience or know how much they will stretch out (if at all)?

I've read 1.5 in earlier in this thread . . . or is that cm?

    If it's cm, then I'm screwed. :)

The legs fit perfectly, however . . .

    1.5 inches, not cm :)

If you can just barely get them buttoned, you can probably make them fit better after stretching, albeit very tightly.

  11. I bought a pair of size 28 5010xx raw and they were just too tight in the ballsack. Fit pics from a previous post in this thread are here: http://www.superfuture.com/supertalk/showpost.php?p=796091&postcount=2820

So I had Kiya send me a size 29 instead and here's the fit pics. They are still really stiff because I've only tried them on long enough to take some pics and see how they fit.

Opinions on the fit now? Maybe my body type isn't the best for these jeans...I'm about 6 feet tall and 135ish lbs for reference. They have kind of an MC Hammer parachute pants thing going on at the low hips (denim flares out awkwardly) because the denim is so stiff still I think.

  12. I'm about 6' / 145, and I usually wear a 29 or so, so didn't really downsize at all, though the way they've stretched, there's a little bit of play in the waist.

Good to know. I'm almost exactly the same height/weight as you but my 28s are too small in the bollocks for me. I'm going to order a 29 and hopefully the fit on me is the same as what you show!

  13. I've kinda had it with the skintight jeans, just want them to fit more or less thesame as my jims. how would they fit if I get them in 29? like half a size smaller of something?

IMO if you don't want skintight jeans then you should definitely size up one from your size in Slim Jims. Getting the same size in 501xx 6x6 raw as Slim Jim size will be tight. In your case I'd say a 30 in 501xx is the right size.

To be sure, use a tape measure and follow the sizing chart from Fab Four.

  14. I have a SJDJ in 29/32 which fit perfectly and want the 5010xx 6x6 to fit thesame (with more tapered legs though) after soking them, before wearing. What do u guys think, should i get the 29's or 30's?

The right size for a SuFu fit in the Slim Jim is a 28 for me. Like I've mentioned a few times recently, my 28 5010xx 6x6 are tight as hell but are supposed to stretch to fit. I'll update within the next week or so to see how much they stretch.

If you are into a bit of a looser fit but still slim cut jean, then I can tell you right now that you should size up one from the Slim Jims.

  15. Damn I'm really hoping that you guys are right about stretching...I've only worn my 28s out twice now but they are still tight like a man's anos in the balls/ass/hips. I'm self-conscious about people looking at my bollocks in these right now...

  16. jackboot-

the ballsack division problem (thanks for the great image btw) can be fixed by pulling the seat down an inch or two. this was possible for me after a few hours, though there is still some crotch bulge.

yeah sorry for the mental picture :o I can't pull the seat down yet - that's the point I'm hoping they get to. Right now I can only wear them pulled all the way up. Thanks for the advice.

  17. @ggatsby:

Good to know they are stretching out for you. I can button mine up much more easily now so they seem to be stretching from the little bit I've worn them at home so far. I'm a little bit concerned that I don't recall reading other people here reporting having their ballsack divided into 2 distinct halves but maybe I just forget those posts in this huge thread.

    @blah trite:

Those don't look tight to me at all. If it was a struggle to get them buttoned it may be just due to the stiffness of the denim more than the size being too small. I say keep them, but maybe you like a looser fit...

  18. @popoki:

haha yeah that sounds about the same as me. It sounds like I'm bigger than you are so you should definitely fit into the size 28. When I first got them pulled up I was like, shit...these aren't going to fit...but I struggled for about 5-10 minutes and got them done up one at a time. I think there is a very minimal amount of stretching that occurs immediately when you struggle into them. I just put mine on again and I can button them with minimal effort already whereas the first time it was a quite a struggle and I broke a sweat lol. I'm going to wear them around the house until the loosen up and I don't have ball cleavage anymore.

Funny thing is that they aren't actually tight around my waist. I measured according to the sizing chart from fab four and made extra sure that I was measuring correctly. The waist measurement is just as the size chart indicated and the waist fitment is perfect. The ass/hips/crotch is another story - very tight! I'm still a bit leary that a size up would be better, but I'm going to take kira's advice and keep them since he is the expert and wait for them to stretch in the right places.

PS: can anyone else confirm that they had ball cleavage when they first put these on? And that it loosens up
