  1. i have the generic asian hair- almost straight and not too thick. its a little curvy towards side and back end. My front and side hair can come down almost to my chins and my back hair covers most of my neck. My hair has been falling out a lot since ive had longer hair so are there any products that can thicken your hair? the regular panteen stuff makes my hair really dry and tangled after a shower so i dont think its very good for me

Do you mean to say that you are balding? If so, go see a doctor and get a prescription for Propecia immediately. If you've lost a lot of hair then having it long is probably not the best look for you unless you are going for some homeless steez.

To thicken your hair I can personally recommend the following Aveda products:

    Shampoo:

    Clay Conditioner:

  2. guys/girls with long hair how do u take care of it? any specific shampoo conditioning or treatment you can recommend? also, am i the only person that finds myself with my hair constantly getting in my mouth while eating food? its getting really annoying im really tempted to cut my hair short

Shampoo/conditioner will depend on what kind of hair you got man.

I had shoulder length hair for quite a while and never found myself with hair in my mouth. Tuck it behind your ears while eating?

  3. hey yall. currently rockin this fauxhawk thingy, but NEED to switch it up. any suggestions?

I dislike the fauxhawk very much. When I see individuals who I typically want to distance myself from stylistically (i.e., toddlers, elementary school children, tough guys, hip dads) all wearing that cut, I think it is indicates that it is overdone (and this was confirmed to me by my recent confrontation with a stylist who seemed to know only 2 male cuts: buzz and fauxhawk). With that said, the basic idea of shorter sides and some length on the top is a classic style and has been discussed a tonne on here. You already have short sides and some length on top, so why not browse this thread for some of these styles. But since you specifically asked for a suggestion, I'd say at a minimum just get rid of the 'hawk in the back and style the top to the side rather than to a peak.

  4. This is from Isolated Heroes right? This is a little more business friendly compared to the other one I want to get. I'm still unsure what I want, though.

I don't think so but maybe I'm wrong. Isolated heros was apparently a project in 1999/2000 and the photo is dated from 2007. I retrieved the photo from hji.co.uk and it seems that their photos are dated according to when the photo was taken. Anyway,

It is a stylish cut that would work for those like myself that have thin hair and can't pull off so many cool styles that require lots of thick hair.

I agree that the blonde's cut is more realistic if you need to value other's opinions for work or whatever. I am constantly struggling to come to terms with the fact that the types of clothing or hair styles that I would *like* to pull off will alienate me from a lot of people. Ahh conformity...

  5. Thanks for all the kind words. I am thinking about buying a pair of Clark's Desert Boots soon, and I am wondering if the leg opening on the 5010xx's is large enough to fit over the boot.

I have size 29 5010xx raw and they fit very nicely with my desert boots. Leg opening is plenty wide for me but that may also vary depending on how thick your ankles are.

  6. I have no motivation to write this essay that was due already.

    Should I do it? Y/N?

Do it fast. The longer you wait to finish the less likely it is you will actually finish.

I'm still finishing 2 essays from last year :(

  7. Campfires are a panacea for raw denim: shrinks your denim if too big, stretches them if too small, turns 100% cotton stiches into polycotton, regrows the red tab on US market skulls, repairs crotch blowouts, and creates fadez like no other. Do it!

  8. IMO ocean washing is a marketing gimick propagated by APC, Nudie (others?) to further differentiate their product from "regular" denim (i.e., "you don't wash em for 6 months and then when you do you have to fly to the coast to do it in the oceanz!"). The point of washing is to get rid of shit that's accumulated on your jeans and I think that is best done by using woolite black and cold water.

That said, if the mystique created by washing your clothes in the ocean is too overwhelming to ignore, then yeah...jump in the ocean, get out, rub with sand if desired, and let them dry.

  9. Yes on the style, no on the crap copy.

The military surplus store here has shoes just like that for $5. They are exceptionally cheap. The soles are the worst part.

Buy the original clarks version - they are only slightly more expensive and are of descent quality. Use microsoft cashback to make it cheap at like a hundred different shoe stores right now.

  10. thanks. guess i would go with some 29s. anyway did they stretch out much?

Yes, my 5010xx have stretched a fair bit. Had I gone with 28s, they would not have stretched but rather ripped at the seams.

So in my experience, APC NC 26 = Skull 5010xx raw 29.

  11. hey guys i wondering if i am a size 26 in apc nc, what size will i be looking for in skulls? i was going towards a 28 but after some thought i would like to slouch my jeans more so maybe a size 29?

My size in APC NC is 26 - my size in Skull 5010xx raw is 29. I tried a 28 first and they were tight as fuck. I did permanent damage to my fingers and thumbs trying to button. Now that my 29s are worn in I can slouch a little.

  12. I saw some of the "raw" 511s at Urban Outfitters and i'm going to pick up a pair. They even had a slip in the back pocket that says to avoid washing them for as long as possible, and to dry clean if you have to!

Need a little advice on sizing though. Here's my options:

    1) get size 30s that are a little small on me, and just let them stretch as i wear them without washing for a few months. when i do finally wash them, will they shrink too small, or twist and the mess up the fades/combs?

    2) get the 32s that are the correct size, do a hot soak before wearing to let them shrink up, and then proceed with wearing them for a while?

Anyone else soak these before wearing who can comment on the outcome? How much do they shrink? How much dye do they lose? How much do they stretch when wearing?

These stretch like mad in my experience. I'd definitely get as snug a fit as possible, don't wash/soak, and let them stretch out for 3-6 months. After I washed they tightened up again, but after wearing for a day or two stretch out again.
