  1. Im actually saving right now to get a silver vesp from http://www.antiquevespa.com/ check it.

no real experience with a moped and my friends all say ill look like a douche, but i personally think that ill look like a baller and what with gas prices now a days its over 4 dollars here

I'm a Vespa enthusiast and when I read this I just thought I'd mention...Vespas restored in Asia are known for being shoddly bodged death traps. These Asian scooters often have well over 100,000km on them and and the Asian shops don't have the proper tools or parts to make them anywhere close to safe and certainly not a real "restoration". Any reputable American shop will refuse to do service on them. The site you sneakily obscures the fact that they are having third world labour "restore" these Vespas and then importing them to the USA.

Please don't buy one of these bodge jobs - there have been instances of the frame snapping in half while riding due to welding two frames together. Do some research and you'll come to the same conclusion yourself. Google: vietbodge, viet bodge vespa asian restoration, or just visit the international scooter BBS and read the horror stories there.

  2. Those look like they started out raw.

I really dislike the way Skull's denim looks in one-wash state, they destory it during the washing/drying process.

I agree completely...I don't think I've seen pictures of any one-wash skulls that look very good.

  3. Skull 5507XX 6x6 27. Unsoaked (but the denim's sanforized), and mad tight. I can fasten all the buttons, but it definitely feels strained. I'm not sure whether I like the fit or not yet, looking for some help deciding whether to keep or sell these.

IMHO you would do well to size up one. From the looks of the picture of your arse they are straining bigtime at the seams. No offense, but I don't think the look is flattering. I bought a pair of 5010s that fit the same (could just barely button and strained at the seams) and I sized up one and am very glad I did. Even when I sized up one they were tight as hell but stretched to fit perfectly. Maybe the pair you have right now could stretch to fit better, but I definitely don't think sizing up one would be "too big" by anyones definition.

  4. I picked these up in a thrift store yesterday for $10. The soles were rock hard but I put them in the oven wrapped in foil for about 30 minutes at 170F and the soles are wonderfully soft now. They are well worn navy suede.

The label on the inside of the shoes has been worn away but looks like it was in gold lettering. I'm curious if these are Padmore & Barnes or made in China Wallabees.

I suspect they are Padmore & Barnes simply because of the sizing - I take a 10 in the made in China Wallabees - these are labeled 10.5 inside one of the shoes and they are about 1/2 size small for me. But they are also labelled as "D11 1/2" inside the other shoe so I'm confused as to what size they actually are. They also seem a bit differently designed compared to my China wallabees - the sole seems thinner and overall they seem less bulky...but maybe it is my imagination because I don't have my China wallabees here to directly compare.

Can anyone identify them as China or Ireland wallabees?

  5. so I got a pair of the desert boots a long while back and cannot bring myself to wear them for the life of me.

everytime i walk around on them the back part of the shoe rubs up against my heel and creates some nasty blisters. any recommendations on how to smoothen that area?

I have exactly the same problem with mine. I love the look of them, but to wear them leaves me in severe pain. If anyone has any quick fixes for this I'd be really appreciative.

You guys just need some of this:

    http://www.drugstore.com/qxp14287_333181_sespider/dr__scholls/moleskin_plus_4_x_3_38.htm

Put some on the problem area of your feet and wait until the shoe softens up and gets worn in. Then you shouldn't need the moleskin anymore :)

  6. Dior MII 19cm sz28

    too tight ?

The jeans are tight, but not too tight to look good. But the shirt is horrid IMO - particularly in contrast to the tight jean fit.. If you are going to wear a KISS shirt, make it tight and vintage, not XL and from their year-2000 geriatric tour.

i like the grey suede, but i dont think the black sole is doing it for me

Weird, I searched for this thread to post a 'this or that' because I'm looking for some gray laceups and having a hard time. These ones you posted are pretty close to what I'm looking for, but too much $$$ for me:(

poliopoliopolio has some in this post that are incredible: http://www.superfuture.com/supertalk/showpost.php?p=326294&postcount=22775

I found these vintage ones, but what about the heels? They are kind of huge. I wonder if a cobler could fix that?

Clark's desert boot in grey suede also looks like it might work:

Opinions on the vintage or clarks (or keep looking)?

  8. Here is a pic of Skull 5010xx and beeswax wallabee:

    Picture10a.jpg

BTW, the deal I posted that was available from shoebuy.com is dead...they jacked up their price.

Fortunately, I noticed a good deal on wallabees from shoes.com when I was looking for a pair of desert boots. Wallabees for $74.49 shipped after all is said and done. Use the coupon code: APRILSAVE for 15% off their regular price of $109.99. You'll get another $19 back by using a rebate website if you want. PM me if you want to use the rebate site and I'll give you a referal link (which benefits me too).

  9. This thread means nothing to me without more picz.

I agree...why hasn't anyone posted any worn/post-wash pics yet? If it is because even after 3+ months of wear there is no fading, pictures to show such would be helpful.

  10. I'm at about 2.5 months and haven't washed yet...I just noticed that the stitching has broken in the top left corner of the right back pocket (just above the cross stitching). There is a gap of about 1 cm where the pocket is separating from the seat...I hope this trend doesn't continue because my pair is starting to get some nice looking fades I think.

I'm planning on washing at 4 months but with the broken threads in the back pocket already I'm a bit nervous to let them go for another 1.5 months without water...

  11. ^Thanks! Just got a reply from revolve that they're out of stock in my size, though. Good to know your girlfriends pair is holding up, maybe I'll just pull the button off, stitch the hole up and get the button replaced with another one... How's the fading on hers coming along? I've read that they're hard to break in and to get good fades on.

I started on a pair of skull 5010xx at nearly the same time as she started on her good societys. My skulls have quite a bit of fading appearing now but hers do not have any. The difference, I think, is that the girls good societys have 2 or 3% spandex (?) in them for stretch. This makes the jeans fit waaaaaaayyyy better on a girl's figure. I think that they definitely look much more flattering than 100% cotton raw denim that's she has tried on. But that stretch makes creasing and therefore fading quite difficult. I'm sure that in time they will get some descent lap and butt fading, but probably never really defined whiskering or honeycombs.

Do your PBJ 1069s crease/fade? They have stretch material in them too I believe. I kind of want to find my girl some raw denim that looks flattering on a girls figure *without* stretch in them so that they fade nicely but I'm not aware of any...

  12. My first post here. I'm a girl and got these in a 24. They are the perfect fit imo. Other pairs I currently am working on are some pbj slim 1069, some grey skulls 5010XX and a pair of Jean Shops. I've worn the Good Societys for half a week now and I love the fit, but imo the quality is crap. The pbjs were much tighter and I've worn them harder than these. They're holding together just fine and the hardware is still in place.

The GS' are loosing their button.... The fabric is fraying around it, and it'll fall off any time now. I'm definitely sending them back to revolve, but have anyone encountered this before with these? I'm considering exchanging them in another pair or just try other brands, is it worth giving them another shot or are they bad quality over all?

My girlfriend has been wearing her pair for nearly 3 months with no quality issues. Buttons are fine, no stitching coming loose etc. Since you like the fit so much I think you should exchange for another pair - you will probably find no quality issues the 2nd try :)

  13. I really hope he changed the blade out.. if not that was a dumb move on his part:(.

of course I changed the blade out...i'm not going to shave with a 30-year old rusted blade last used by an unknown dead guy:p

For the enlightenment of anyone who doesn't really know what a "saftey razor" is, it just *holds* a razor blade. It is 100% hygenic to use this dead guy's razor handle with a new blade.

If you find any more cool old stuff, as in bags, boots, jeans, overcoats & work jackets, glasses, aviator goggles and vintage motorcycles please send them to Cotton Duck.

    Thanks!

lol actually i went snooping in the basement this morning to see what I could see...just junk so far. BUT there is an entire garage that is as yet unexplored...it is too snowy to get in right now though. The snow is piled up like 1m all around it.
