  1. I just picked up a very gently worn pair of Clarks x Jil Sanders desert boots in light blue-green suede. They are marked as made in England. Does anyone know how old these are? Just curious. Google doesn't tell me.

  2. I love these boots but they are too big for me :(

Mahogany leather, size 10 (GB) / 10.5 (US), "F" width (standard width).

New, never worn. Comes with original box. Tissue still inside the boots.

These were only sold in the UK. Clarks is only making black suede in this style now. Clarks UK sells the black suede desert mali for £89 (about $150 USD). FreshCotton.co.uk sells the discontinued cola suede for £122 (about $200 USD).

$200 USD plus shipping. Payment by paypal echeck. I will ship worldwide. Ships from Canada.

  3. Your optimism is inspiring, Ande. I've made my donation and I hope everyone that reads this thread does the same! Good, hard-working people deserve lots of help in situations like this.

Idea: if you are poor like I am, just skip a few meals in the next week and direct that money to Ande.

  4. And here's who else has expressed interest if the contest expands:

    16. Sbreslin

    17. Caid

    18. jigrushable

    19. Noodle36

    20. Blackmaged

    21. thesmokestack

    22. Fobe46

    23. D4nvu

So that's where we stand. 7 more people and the contest can hopefully bump up to 30 pairs. That is of course assuming everyone 16-30 are definite confirmations. I'd like for everyone to be on Sufu, but both Aleopold and I know some non-SuFu guys who may be interested in the contest to help us reach 30.

Please add me to this list :)

  5. And in case you still aren't convinced...after a while the suede/leather will become unsealed from the last around the edges of the shoe and will be held firmly in place only by the stitching. This will easily allow even the smallest amounts of water into the shoe. At least, this has happend with mine :(

I'm still looking for a good winter shoe/boot because my Clarks just don't cut it in the snow.

  6. After 3 years my Skulls are ready to be retired from daily wear so its time to find new jeans.

Does anyone know how Skull 5010xx 6x6 raw fitment compares with Ande Whall denim? Is the fit more similar to a Grifter or Raker? I can't decide which will be a better fit for me.

  7. I think some people shave it off..I remember theres a pic of them somewhere, I'll try to look for it.

This is the first I've heard about shaving the outsole. So I googled and found this:

    COFJ7WT-01.jpg

Pretty Green and Clarks collaboration on the iconic Desert Boot. Liam Gallagher and his Pretty Green clothing label have tkane their slant on the desert boot. This edition resembles a heritage silhouette with slimmer sole unit, shaved heel, and wider flatter toe. The overall effect is of a highly authntic mod look. Finished in premium suede and limited in numbers.

  8. I'd like to see some more posts in this thread! I love those APCs that were posted.

This is my pair of Skull 5010-xx 6x6 raw. Thanks to Kiya at Self Edge.

They've been worn every day with very little exception for 2 years and 4 months now. The photos below were taken at just over 2 years.

They are falling apart all over the place and I'm uncertain if I'll be able to meet my 3-year daily wear goal. I've done lots of repairs myself (thanks to Fab Four for the repair kit) but it is becoming a weekly task now. We'll see how long they can hold out for!

  9. Here are the latest photos of my Skulls. If you'd like to see the full evolution, I've posted photos in the evo thread: link

  10. Shipping rate for US: $6.00

    Shipping rate for Canada: $30.00

jesus christ...I'm not paying 50% more than the shoes just for shipping

I don't get why the fuck some places charge so much for shipping to Canada. The actual cost for something like a pair of shoes is like a dollar more than domestic USA shipping when using USPS.

  11. 1 year 5 months daily wear evolution

    Skull 5010xx 6x6 raw

machine washed 5 times, hang dry

I'm waiting for these to fall apart on me but it seems that they will last a long time yet!

If you're interested, check out the small repairs that I did in thedenim repair thread.

After warm wash - amazingly they are still stiff enough after washing to stand up on their own

  12. No sewing machine available so I had to do them by hand...so they are a bit messy and not as high quality as I would have liked. I have some more minor repairs to do but these were the major ones I wanted to get done before washing.

Small hole starting in da butt

    a32ba1b6.jpg

Fixed with the method shown at the beginning of this thread

    3db3bc29.jpg

    Frayed back pocket from wallet/keys

    6c2f12dc.jpg

    Fixed with some subtle selvage

    6297d679.jpg

Pocket bag was ripping at the seam so I totally unstitched it before reinforcing it

    d3b024c5.jpg

This is the piece of cotton that I used to reinforce with. It was a wash tag that was sewn into the pair of good society denim that I sacrificed
