in a town as progressive as SF how the hell are pay-toilets still legal? I understand the notion of 'no public restrooms' etc... but out here if you serve food/beverages you have to have a public bathroom and to my knowledge it is illegal to refuse access.

I promise not to bore you with multiple 'what i wore to work' pics, but I just wanted to share one with you as I mentioned yesterday that I'll be wearing the contest pants under baggy khakis each day to meet 'dress code' etc.
and here's what I am wearing now:
the wife and I sat down to watch a favorite of ours:

I do like the OG roys as well, although, the black and blues and these new ones with the loomstate Cone stuff are probably pretty nice. I just liked the back and forth required to get a pair of Roys through roy. I definitely felt like they were made to measure, he popped in a cool little keyhole for my pocket watch chain. It was just pleasant dealing with him. Price had nothing to do with it. I still love all the stuff he does though. I would spend $300 easily for a pair made by him.
this.
I think a lot of what got this thread, the tour, the contest, the expurgated 'URCC', et cetera, was the back and forth and the fact that you had an opportunity to get to know the guy who made your jeans, and vice versa. While i've not met Roy in person I consider him a friend of sorts, and if he ever decides to do a limited run of MTM boy howdy am I hoppin on board that.

I actually prefer the original Roys, but not because of 'overdesigning' in the present, but because he was still doing MTM then.

Happy New Years everybody!
Here is a quick shot of me in my 'base layer'. I too will be wearing my pants to work each and every day, only I have to wear khaki colored ducks over top because I work at Wal-mart. Yesterday was my birthday, so I am now 26. This contest will document my 26th year of life from start to finish here in the tiny Central Nebraska town of Elwood. Have a few trips planned and hopefully a meet up or two with folks in the central time zone (Kansas,Surly I'm lookin at you two).
Can't wait for everyone else's fits!
Also, welcome aboard to Riff. Really glad to have you involved!

Headed over to our church's youth camp for a special church service today
Met a lot of new people, this kid was pretty awesome. I drew him a picture of a truck, he looked at it very studiously and then threw it on the ground. A few moments later he mumbled something to the effect of 'you can't draw worth a shit' while pointing at HIS drawing of a truck. Seriously this was the best birthday gift ever I think my laughter may have disrupted the service a little
.
A bell choir played about 55 more minutes of bell music than I felt like hearing, but it was nice I suppose.
There was a nice potluck with several different soups and sandwiches.
Here's the wife with some type of vegetarian gumbo or something. It was pretty tasty.
got home intending to take my final submission pics, but as I took this last fit it started raining.
Then Lauren made me a nice dinner, sort of a puffy taco/tostada hybrid. And of course Mundet, after Coke it's probably the best readily available soda around.
Hoping for better weather tommorow so I can snap some final submission pics with natural light.
It's been an amazing year, thanks so much for sharing it it me guys.

I mostly listen to npr, and the occasional hour or so of Dave Ramsey on AM. But the top plays on my itunes is, has been, and probably will continue to be Spoon's album 'Transference'.

but I listen to just about anything (and I am not just saying that).
I just kind of go on these kicks. I spent most of the summer listening to 50's country and western: hank snow, tex ritter, bob wills, etc. And then on the way home today I was listening to 'all day' by girl talk. I think my tastes in music are like the tides and at the complete mercy of the moon.
