Some vacation photos. I didn't really have a lot of time to think about composure, lighting, etc. because we were on a pretty tight timeline. Nonetheless, Photoshop can fix many things.

The Canon Elan 7e is a great camera. Check eBay for deals. I paid $160 for camera + battery grip + shutter release cable + wireless remote.

The beer snob factor of this thread was dissappointing.
Tasty beers I've been enjoying: Duchesse de Bourgogne, La Fin du Monde, Monkfish Triple, Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen.

Bump.
Another vote for Smartwool. Their light hiking socks are the best thing since sliced bread. Size small fits me (I wear 8-8.5 shoes). You can wear em for days without stretching, smelling, getting damp, etc. My pair I bought a year ago is still in great condition. I'm going to convert most of my everyday socks to Smartwool.
They're pricey @ $15-20/pair, but you can find some good deals online once you find your size.

@Felix: Here you go. It's a very nice lens, but I couldn't justify buying it because I don't often use 50mm.
Taken at f/1.4.

Got this
66 North Iceland Blafell Jacket
In M and L because I hear it runs slim and I may need a large. Btw, if anyone wants the one that doesn't fit (probably the M) I could sell it instead of returning it back..
Dude, I'm going to Iceland this weekend and I was scrambling to find a jacket that fits. North Face & Columbia's jackets in S are way too big. 66 North makes XS! Thank you!

Can anyone recommend a decent sewing machine? I want to start making my own dress shirts because no one makes 14.5" neck sizes. I would consider myself a beginner, but I know how to use a sewing machine & serger somewhat.
I've been looking at a few models from Janome. Budget would be $500 max (ideally around $300) for the sewing machine. I don't need a serger right now.

I love the reddish-purple x silver sweater I saw at Barneys. Too bad it was $650.

don't waste your money and get the panny lx-2. it's the same camera for 100 cheaper.
I don't own either camera, but from these pictures it looks like the Panasonic gets more saturation for inside photos and Leica for outside photos. Weird...

the cell phone market/evolution is much better in europe and asia because the technology has been there for longer. the US didn't embrace cell phones on the whole for at least a year or two after they started gaining popularity in england, and we tried to use american made products first to challenge the foreign markets. i was reading an article on this, and apparently, despite europe being higher on the cell phone chain, we have better global internet access/speed/etc. because we pursued that technology much more than the cellphone technology, originally.
Well, I'll take better/faster Internet over cellphones any day.
