  1. Over bridge of sighs

To rest my eyes in shades of green

    Under dreamin' spires

To Itchycoo Park, that's where I've been

    What did you do there?

    I got high

    What did you feel there?

    Well I cried

    But why the tears there?

    I'll tell you why

    It's all too beautiful

    It's all too beautiful

    It's all too beautiful

    It's all too beautiful

I feel inclined to blow my mind

Get hung up feed the ducks with a bun

They all come out to groove about

Be niceand have fun in the sun

Tell you what I'll do (what will you do?)

I'd like to go there now with you

You can miss out school (won't that be cool)

Why go to learn the words of fools?

    What will we do there?

    We'll get high

    What will we touch there?

    We'll touch the sky

    But why the tears then?

    I'll tell you why

    It's all too beautiful

    It's all too beautiful

    It's all too beautiful

    Ha! It's all too beautiful

  2. 4serious.

so i got SAT scores back today - same as last time. weird. i get a 12/12 on the essay, still no improvement in raw score. call up my tutor, im already pissed, cause i couldve sworn i had done better, and its not like i didnt improve at all, overall my raw score went up 10 points. regardless, im pissed. the testing room was hot, the test itself shitty (obviously), but i couldve sworn i had to have done better on my verbal. so im going over it with my tutor, and then the head tutor who is like the authority on all this shit gets on the line and tells me that nationwide, everyone who took the june 2nd SAT is scoring significantly lower than they normally and averagely do. my practice tests normally hovered around the mid-high 600's for verbal, but she told me that there was some sort of negative trend in this edition test, and its not that i did anything wrong (i admit i could've done better, but making only a 600 straight is kinda bs for me), and she told me that the test somehow is off about 40 points. shes conferred with other kids who go to the same tutor and talked to other people in the tutoring business and their all reporting back that there was something wrong with the verbal, because kids who are scoring normally 650 and up (such as myself) and seeing between 30-50 point difference on their raw score.

so im still kinda pissed, but now i know that i didnt fuck up as bad as i think i did, or at least theres hope i knowning that maybe, just maybe, i got fucked over this.

doesn't make much difference, im still taking the test in october again. fucking standardized bullshit. fuck tests.

  3. oh awesome im glad someone started this thread, im in exactly the same boat, cept im going mid july for a few weeks.... i have a friend in paris who il just follow around. (aparently collette is the store to visit- http://www.colette.fr/index.php, and if your doing a lazy walk about: the gardens at the UNESCO buildings are pretty awesome, i believe they were designed by Isamo Naguchi and some other dude, and theres also a cool little pavillion type structure there done by Tadao Ando............. if your into architecture) im planning on paying a visit to the Le Corbusier Centre (again- architecture nonsense), and im excited to check out the bars in St Germain area, and i may be mistaken but i think Buddha Bar is somewhere in paris....

for london on the other hand im really quite stuck, planning on checking out the Tate & Tate modern, the London Lovebox weekend looks like an awesom festival (weekend of july 21st) and thats about it, anyone have any suggestions? stores to check out, art & architecture to see? bars/clubs to hit up???????

oh shit i love naguchi. if you ever get a chance to come down to NY, head over to brooklyn and go to the naguchi gallery/museum. its absolutely breathtaking and amazing. i make a point to go every summer cause its so beautiful.

anyways, these suggestions for paris sound pretty good. i'm going wiht my older brother who lived over there for a little while, so i'll pass the suggestions onto him, since he knows better than i do.

if you're gonna be in london, definately go to the british museum and if you can, try and get out of the city and head to the town of bath. also if possible from bath, take a trip out to stonehenge and the salisbury plane. one of the most gorgeous roadtrips i've taken was going from london to bath to stonehenge. amazing to see the white ponies in the hills and stonehenge is amazing. the salisbury plane is breathtaking too. man i loved that trip haha.

    anyways, any more paris suggestions?

  4. also why the name, sohoADDICT, it implies that you are A) fashionable, due to your knowledge of soho and that it is a fashionable place B) that you are thereby an addict of fashion, and would do anything to be that which is "hype"

it doesn't make sense for you to post on a message board dedicated to the concept of "hype" - meaning we purchase higher end clothing, denim, accessories, etc. because we chose to. you're refusal of accepting that people would rather spend $200 on a pair of selvage jeans (some people) than $30 on a pair of Levi's STF its useless and pretty annoying. there are reasons brands such as Dior and APC are popular because they ensure a sense of style to the wearer, regardless of the fact that he or she might have no style at all. thats the concept of "hype" - the sense that we have been able to buy a style, but not necessarily adhere to it.

in honesty, don't believe the hype, and go your own way. but don't get that confused with being a snide jerk-off and telling us we're wrong in our want to purchase higher scale apparrel. if you just ask questions and don't parade around like you know whats what and how everything works, you'll get along fine with everyone. i too sometimes wonder why everyone buys such expensive stuff, but i don't make sure everyone knows my disdain for it. the point is: treat others as you would want to be treated, and get the facts before you attack or defend something. i'm guilty of being a noob, but i have the sense enough to know that there are people here who know more about this stuff than i do, so just listen up, rather than shutting it out.

  5. yooo, finally someone knows what the fuck i'm talking about!

it feels horrible, american-cut men's dress slacks are like wearing fucking

sacks of fabric on your legs, it drives me nuts.

i guess h&m and zara make some cheap, slim slacks yeah? i need to investigate.

I got my dress pants tapered by a professinal tailor, they are better, but there is a limit to the amount you can bring them in without them looking stupid.

well, what i learned after going through the process of buying a suit recently is that most american brands (i bought a Kenneth Cole Reaction 3 button) are made much boxier and "wider" than other style suits. after trying on dior and burberry, and getting bummed by the price tag, but falling in love with the fit, i figured that the only logical choice would be to tailor it. so i brought it to your standard ITALIAN tailor. they told me that they couldnt do anything with it except bring it in a tad. obviously i wanted a fitted goddamn leg, something that would silhouette my leg, not just fall all over the place. i ended up getting it tailor and readjusted to be more fitted, but i learned that FRENCH tailors, not italian, will recut your suit pants depending on the fabric available, to be slimmer and nicer. FRENCH TAILORS, NOT ITALIAN.

  6. Who gives a shit about "in a no homo way?" The distinction is irrelevant. You're probably just joking around on a message board and that's okay, I'm just taking it out here. This "no homo" garbage is just so tired. Total inability to listen.

do any of you know where "no homo" came from? cause if not, go out and see killa season, please, do yourself a favor.

  7. alright so - i'm gonna get my first pair of dunks, should i do NikeiD, or get a stock pair. I want low dunks, and im looking for nice colors. nothing gaudy or ridiculous. i designed my own, but im not convinced of them

dunk owners - help a brotha out.

    still wondering

also - should i watch easy rider or house of a 1000 corpses. i just finished watching dawn of the dead (original) for like the 1000th time, so, im kinda in the mood for horror.

    thoughts?

  8. first off - their bootcut. which is all fine an dandy, but around here, most people aren't very partial to it. 517's were my first memorable jean, and i wore them to death, then gave them to my mom (she still wears them surprisingly). their not exactly skinny, but their not enormous, and if you're worried about the bagginess, size down. honestly, their not worth the money, i'd rather own a pair of H&M raw sliq's (which i do) then spend the same $40 on the 517's

  11. Godfather is basically the best movie ever made. What's better?

well citizen kane was #1, which makes some sense

casablanca is #3 this year, when it was #2 10 years ago.. pssh

i dunno, its hard to crown a certain movie "the perfect movie" title. i hardly think godfather is there, bores me to death when i watch it, though cinematically its beautiful. i just can't get into it much, and thats not saying its a bad movie. just not my thing.

EDIT: i'm very glad Bladerunner is on there though. probably one of my all time favorite movies.
