I don't think those Heath Ledger Joker shots are actual, just fan-based photoshops; nevertheless, I think Ledger will pull off a much better Joker than many are expecting (or not expecting in that regard).
And...although it's not terrible, am I the only one that thinks the new suit makes Batman look like RoboCop?
Don't tell me Nolan bought that design off Paul V. for a dollar.
no those pictures are official, they were released to the associated press a couple months back. heath ledger is probably gonna be pretty badass as joker. he was great in 10 things i hate about you and a knights tale so OBVIOUSLY he's gonna be great.

that's pretty much the funniest shit ever. then again they do give you diabeetus. but wait smoking will give you all sorts of fucked up shit, wont it?
this sort of thing happens all the time.
ahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaHAHAHAHAH
i love when people say diabeetus. like the dude from the infomirtial, hahahahaha its just so funny. i know you meant it in that sense, but honestly anytime i hear some old codger or some idiot say diabeetus i start laughing sooooooooooooooooooo hard. its pretty awful because my little sister is a diabetic, but she gets a kick outta it too. its like some sort of just absolutely ridiculous thing that makes no sense what so ever, diabeetus? wtf is that shit hahahahahahaha
im soooo high

well, i've listened to it in excess of 20 times already, and i've decided, though it is a great album - its lacking/isn't lacking in a few key departments
- production - though very nicely done, its just that. its too nicely done. its very apparent that they went into a digital studio with their minds set on recording in the same style to raconteurs made their record. you can hear the audible difference in production quality between Get Behind Me Satan and this album. the vocals are very immediate, the guitar very full, and the drums are very tight. not that these are such bad things, but it takes away from the general concept of the white stripes - this album, unlike all the albums up to Elephant, has little to no reverb splashed in for some color. the tone on jacks guitar is full and very obvious, and its not as messy as i'd like it to sound. theres something almost sterile about it at times, but regardless, it makes for a new approach to their sound. i'm sure live, it will be more more frought.
- the vocals are very clean, again with no reverb like the other albums, and no natural space, everything is very airtight.
- the drums have never sounded better, which is/isnt a problem. the whole idea with meg behind the skins was to keep it primal and big/sloppy, but somehow it has become a bit overly thought out. again, this record is a complete step in both directions so its hard to say its such a problem
- and in terms of tuneage, there seem to be only 4 "rockers" as opposed to just great songs (which is the entire album). it seems that this album is more like one choesive listen, as opposed to past stripes efforts which have been loud loud loud quiet loud loud piano loud, etc. but this is definately interesting to see that jack white has emerged from the full band setup with the raconteurs with new knowledge of a cohesive and full recording concept.
generally, the album is a great listen, and interesting if you're a diehard fan, seeing as the progression of each album brings a new flavor and sound to the band. i'm glad they aren't apologizing to anyone along the way, because they're going to keep making some of the best albums around.
anyone else seeing them july 24 or 25? i've got tickets for both

i liked i few songs on that album a good amount. but they cant hold a candle to older white stripes. and hopefully newest white stripes. get behind me satan was a let down
no way man, Get Behind Me Satan was amazing. you had your crazy tunes like "The Nurse" and "Take, Take, Take" on one end, your rockers like "Blue Orchid" or "Red Rain" at another, and your amazingly written songs like "White Moon" and "I'm Lonely (But I ain't that lonely yet)"
that album has everything, its the best thing they've done, and Icky Thump is definately good, but its just another part of their evolution.
though you're all gonna freak your shit when you hear their cover of "Conquest"
oh my.

why so DD? I'm moving there next month, should I not?
nah, new york is just hard on the soul sometimes. its a great place to live, but i can see it when i visit my brother. you have to always meet a certain standar, even when theres no one judging you. its a very critical city, and it starts to mound up if you're not careful about getting out of there at times.
just listen to "NYC" by interpol

i have the album. its amazing. kinda glossy due to them using digital production, but in honesty, its amazing. i love it. im seeing them twice in a row this summer. im so happy. the entire album just makes me so happy. sooo soo happy.
i love the white stripes - and jack white is one of the best guitarists around these days. its stupid to compare him to SRV or other players because he doesn't play from the same place. SRV played blues in a simple form, jack white is playing blues mixed with the aesthetics/volume of punk and the religious fury of a failed artist. his playing literally translates to shades of red/black/white.
i said that without even having a illegal substance in my system. i need to smoke drugs soon or i will go crazy.
im gonna go listen to Icky Thump more. peace bitches.

jeep, who the fuck are the sonics?
ahl, just bang her on the copy machine.
hmm well, their referenced usually as an important "garage-rock" band, but in reality, their just a beat band from the 60's that discovered fuzz boxes. their cool and all, but the hipster scene makes them out to be so much mroe than they are.
and keagan - whatcha smoking? i got a 1/4 of piff lined up for tomorrow.
tomorrow i get released from my sobriety yesssss finals will be over
time to start drinking/smoking - approx 12 hours.

it finally makes sense to me why all the hipsters worship the sonics.. because their overrated! yay for purile hipster logic!
their nothing special. cool tunes, i can understand how they could be relevant, but honestly, the velvet underground did it better, the stooges did it louder, and the MC5 did it bigger.
and fuck that band the gories. they ain't shit.

its cool, everyone should check it out
syb and seem i'm just sticking with the baccardi.. im not exactly sure how old/good the hiatian shit is anymore.. it was in my grandpa's bar up until the time we sold his beach house over the winter. not sure when it was bought.. but that house was built in the early 70's... so it could be up to say, 30 years old.

Which one tastes better?
i usually only go for baccardi, not big on rum, but since im driving, its not for me, but rather for the party itself. i don't plan on getting too wasted, lest i do have to drive, and if so, ill just have my brother pick me up/ill crash at the house. so im not drinking it either way. hard liquor im not big on unless its in a mixed drink

ill put down my list for realz right now - it doesn't really matter, cause i listen to everything, but to fit the thread
god the list could go on. normally i just listen to anything, i try not to discriminate unless its something like that involves too much screaming like ETID or older comets on fire
