Yes, we can, up to 7 MB!

show me the way o sage. I tried the usual method but to no haps. Keeps saying there’s a problem uploading the file

  2.  I just grabbed two pairs of line of the slim fit stretch selvage, 59 navy and the  09 black.  98% US ELS Supima cotton Kaihara denim. The hand of The denim is extra soft, softer than Full Count Zimbabwe cotton. That plus the stretch factor make them crazy comfy. The things  I love most about these jeans are:

    - they are intentionally underspectacular, At least on the surface. The stitching is monotone, no patch, plain pockets, and the hardware (also made by Kaihara)  is very low-key. However  The stitching is very clean and consistent so where they are made is really irrelevant  ( these are made in Bangladesh). It is as if there was an intentional invisibility intended, to be as  unnoticeable as possible. Totally cold and soulless,  yet the soft feel is very inviting, especially when mixed with the stretch factor.

    - the price point is kept low to make selvage jeans made from the best cotton available for anyone, not just us denim snobs. That’s the real ethos behind denim in the first place since Levi’s first made them: affordable, accessible,  quality pants.

    - the fit. These are the best fitting, best feeling  selvage jeans I’ve ever owned, better than the niche brands I’ve been wearing for the past decade (Warehouse/Denime/Fullcount/Eternal/Samurai etc). No break in period, no need to soak or anything, they are well-starched (and have a nice sheen BTW) but this Supima cotton+2% spandex mix is crazy. They move with you, and when they need to stretch it feels good against the skin. I’m 40 now with 4 kids, I don’t need intentionally rough denim to feel manly.

The black are a matte type (black warp and weft) denim (no sheen) to make them seem even darker, and invisible, and to add to this idea the black HARDWARE is even more understated, the UNIQLO stamps on the rivets and button are even smaller and don’t go all the way around so you really have to see them up close to determine what brand they are. The back label on the waistband is a very minimalist black on black as well. Upon close inspection the stitching is lighter then the denim so it appears to be indigo colored or a very dark purple, which doesn’t surprise me.

     Zippers are YKK.

The #69 is the raw indigo color, and it is super dark, some would mistake it for black if they didn’t know better. The yarns were respun over 60 times and rope-dyed to perfection. No slubs, reminiscent of the time when ultra consistent selvage denim was the norm. The blacks don’t mention Kaihara on the pocket bags but have the exact same type of selvage line and soft hand so I’m assuming they are as well. The backs of the rivets and button are also identical. Not sure if they aren’t core-dyed.

I plan on getting 2 more of both and putting them deep in the stash for years later, plus some white ones too to have at my disposal.

  3. I'm watching Blue Gold on Netflix now, I'm twenty minutes in and loving it. I'm only watching half tonight before work to savor the flavor for tomorrow. I'll probably never get through it cause I keep rewinding it back ten seconds every two seconds LOL

  4. What quality issues did you run across so far? I'm asking because to claim that the quality is shit is a big claim when referring to a renowned label with a deep history like Eternal. We need something to substantiate that claim. Not an attack, just asking for clarity. They seem to be coming along very well. The crotch is blown and repaired which is expected before the 2yr mark. Cotton thread is higher maintenance.

  5. Aztec did quite a bit to relocate the tab and it was his heavy-duty stitching that kept it going this far, so even though I decided to  just do away with the pocket altogether I had to do what I could to keep the tab alive. My youngest loves putting her fingers up in something.

  6. As I'm getting older and more seasoned in my superdenimness, I'm more impressed with the long term pairs that have the opposite fade effect. For most are all about the fades where the contrast is from the amount of white that's worn away compared to the majority blue dye that's left, but I'm much more into the pairs where the contrast is flipped so that there's lots of white ones only little indigo left at all. Those are the ones that get me because they take so much long term dedication way past the point where most people will go with a pair before they consider them finished, as well as repeated and extensive repairs

  7. I feel like myself again...I'll have to repair and wash these tonight, then a good wash. It's time for the old me. Believe it or not the tabis a bit shredded but still attached. Aztec is that dude! Ima see if I can salvage it and if not I'll snoop around and see if I can get another one

  8. I'm here doing repairs work on a Vietnamese Bhuddist temple that had fire damage from a faulty stove...we finished the roof and I went to put a knife in my pocket and it went all the way through, I looked down and realized the whole pocket was coming off! The bitter with the sweet of cotton thread

  9. ...It's like the iridescence of a magpie's feather...best denim quote I've ever heard...there's nothing like checking out fades at sunset or sundown. I haven't washed these yet but I've stolen them so long from Aztec (my bad homie) I might as well treat them like they're mine. I'm back to my old ways so today I was stuck on a roof putting up shingles. They will get a machine wash (gasp !!!) with Castile soap and a hot machine dry once this job is finished. All the  rooftop antics caused quite a bit of damage, back pocket is starting to come off. I have no clue how long they were worn before I got them, or how many days I've worn them, and I'll never be able to tell at this point. Let's get to the pics, shall we?
