  1. ^^ I've had three cards rejected via Rakuten. Hinoya has sent me an email stating that they don't ship overseas anymore. No rumor as I have had first-hand experience with the above. If you've put an order through to Hinoya, perhaps they've lifted their no-international ship ban. Where are you located, vivaloschet?

  2. ^^ I didn't think the actual date had been confirmed. If it's true, then it's the end of an era. You'd think most Rakuten retailers would complain about not having access to international customers, but I guess Hinoya and Earthmarket (along with BEARS and KLAX-ON) are doing just fine. There are non-rakuten alternatives. 2nd has a non-rakuten outlet (e2nd or something, it was somewhere on this thread). Vari-shop also has a paypal based non-rakuten outlet as well. There's also fabfour, clever-id, busters-boogie. And for non-US residents, proxies are also a good alternative.

  3. S0310XX back pockets are half lined. Are most Samurai back pockets half lined? I see the tacking on most of their pockets, but not much of anything about lining.

Also, the waist is SOOOO tight after the soak, STRETCH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!

I remember a post a long time ago. Someone said something along the lines of this:

For sammies: If they don't rape you post soak, you're screwed (because they'll stretch to unwearable)

For SDAs: If they rape you post soak, you're screwed (because they won't stretch and they'll be unwearable).

Anyway, do what I did for my S510XX 21oz. Bakertowne (waist stretcher) that shit.

  4. Didn't someone mentioned earlier about Gordon being a trading hub for those who want to trade their jeans? It might be a bit difficult for me to trade since I had them hemmed to 33" post soak (that and I need to size down 2 from 34 to 32). I've given mine one day of wear, and even though it's a nice fit now, I get the feeling that after a good few weeks of wear, it may stretch out to unwearable. I'm going to have to let them go if I can't trade. I'll be waiting to unload these on the 13th. :(

  5. The BiG measurements were a bit confusing. The thighs on these were supposed to be 12.5in post shrink. Normally that would be sort of loose (based on SE's upper thigh measurement), but I got a pair of XX-007 (which according to BiG is also supposed to be 12.5in OXS) and the thighs on that were way too tight. Confusing. I'm going to take them down to the local laundromat and give them a tumble in the industrial strength dryer, get it down a little further. The fit itself doesn't bother me too much. It feels sort of like my SC41955 except with a slightly bigger waist. Loose repro fit. I could have gone down to 33. 32 would have been too tight in the thigh to be comfortable. I've got slim fitting jeans in my collection (Nudie SS, DJ HR01, Pace 006) if I'm in the mood and I didn't want my comp jeans to fit like them (otherwise I wouldn't wear them as much).

  6. No. 24. Finally arrived. In the hot soak now. Used a newspaper from two days ago since I didn't have one lying around. The patch has been rubbed in with Obenauf's in prep for its looong overnight soak. The raw fit is very baggy in the waist, so so in the leg. hopefully everything will fit together post soak.

  7. BiG seems to have more... features. cinchback, plaid pocket bags, red herringbone lined rear pockets. And that 505 denim is definite selling point even without all the other stuff. The D-stock just seems to be another S5000 collabo with pink coloured arcs and a cute patch.

  8. ^^yup. getting stuff from japan is getting harder. I wouldn't try to order from 2nd too often with the same card. they'll lose patience and then put you on a blacklist where they automatically cancel your order with your name/address. I'd say try two different cards and if that doesn't work, then send one of the many (many) proxys an email.

  9. ^^ You only confirm with 2nd if they send you an email asking you if it's okay to go ahead. They won't send you that email if Rakuten did not accept your credit card. You could try to email Rakuten, but I don't think they would take any notice if you can't speak fluent Japanese.

@planb: if you got an email about your card, your card isn't accepted by Rakuten. I'd suggest another card. I've had 4 cards rejected by Rakuten in the past.

  10. My feeling is that card is dead to Rakuten. You might want to check with your credit card company whether or not they've had any attempts made to authorise the card from a Japanese company, because if not, it's not the credit card company but Rakuten who does not accept your card (which has nothing to do with 2nd since all transactions go through Rakuten and not 2nd). The best bet for you would either be to use another card, or to order from 2nd via their direct website, e2nd or somthing (it's on this thread somewhere).

  11. I wear a size 34 in RRDS (but could have gotten a 33 - it was only my second pair of jeans back then). My 04 DJs fit a lot tighter in the thigh and seat. And they fit a lot tighter post soak. In hindsight, maybe I could have ordered a 05 to have a more relaxed fit, but I'm guessing this zimbabwe cotton will stretch over time. For me, it's better for jeans to stretch from tight to comfortable than from comfortable to loose.
