  1. i've had movies on in the background while i was cleaning this weekend...a lot of crap.

death sentence (kevin bacon, garret hedlund, john goodman)...sooooo awful i was laughing out loud and fast forwarding through. worst things i've seen since garden state.

assassination of jesse james, i shot jesse james, mean girls, the kingdom, the brothers grimm, 10 things i hate about you, a knight's tale, my own private idaho, mr woodcock, gegen die wand, amazing grace, muriel's wedding, about a boy, fear & loathing, benny & joon, atonement, the dreamers, no country for old men, nowhere, heat, 3:10 to yuma, ladyhawke, ...in otherwords, i didn't get out too much this weekend.

  2. i like yer new jeans and minicuffs suba.

    jeffvyain--sling & stone rachels.

    SLIN-WJ2_V1.jpg

    low rise, tapered, selvage.

they go down to sz 24 for sure maybe smaller...and they run pretty tts if not a size small. they come up on ebay occasionally, i just sold a pair of sz24 for <200, seen other ladies score them for <130...and got the pair i had for 120. or you can get them retail for 308 at places like Revolve.

    edit:

also the brand Jean Shop has a pair of tapered, selvage, lowrise or midrise for about 200. or more, i forgot. they certainly have smaller sizes.

  3. PG2 is a waste...and crashed on my laptop.

just try that tutorial out, learn about your router. or, google this stuff (like your router's brand) and ask on more appropriate msgboards.

  4. two weeks ago or something i literally almost ran into Jeremy Davies (CQ, Rescue Dawn, Ravenous) coz he cut me off walking i flipped him the bird before i realized who he was...ended up going into the same store and then before i left he wandered around the shit i was looking at--as in we reached for the same thing at the same time...ehh. it was remarkable because he had really nice skin for any guy or girl i've seen recently and is as jittery or spaced (in the <5 mins i saw him) as he comes off in a lot of his movies.

...hah and had a drink with Sung Kang (better luck tomorrow, tokyo drift). it was awkward. dude is really quiet, but nice...

  5. if you live in a place with real winters, uggs aren't worth the money in my experience.

but sorel boots and the like are. if she has to be trendy and not give a crap about utility--maybe get those hunter rubber boots...

  6. Michael Mann is directing "Public Enemys" Jonny Depp will play John Dillinger and Christian Bale is playing the FBI agent after him. Starts filming in March!!!

    Variety

    wow

    edit:

just saw Juno...i don't get the hype but it is a pretty cute movie. starts off really annoying -- gilmore girls/zach braff style of douche writing, but it got better.

and johnny depp as john dillinger seemed vaguely like a miscast, but thinking about it...it could really work...i'm just glad they're going to shoot alot in chicago and the midwest.... Heat in the 1930s? heh.

  7. +++Honestly.. I don't get this dude. Groundbreaking ++

actually that's one of the guy's better fits because if you look at the b&w pattern on the shoes and then the patch stuff on his black jacket it goes together. wowsrite? but i dun get the yellow undershirt...whyyy? mebe to go wif the lime green bg?

    Corbin Law...yer a visionary

  8. i liked the ending as well.

i wish people would stop with the "best film of the decade" proclamations for films...time is the only thing that will be able to tell.

    also,

casey affleck in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford > javier bardem in No Country for Old Men

    ...for best supporting actor...

the cinematography was also better in Assassination (but both films were done by the same dude).

  9. Selvage: here

    Not Selvage: here

most selvage ppl will see is on the outseam.

you should just do it yourself. why not--especially if they're bootcut or tight through the thigh? there are tutorials all over the internet...try it with some shitty jeans, then do it on the pair you really like. the only problem is a bulge around at the seam near the knee after you sew it back up...but that's easy to correct.

  10. azn8oi, like kiya said those are raw but dyed with natural indigo. the ones fmbh has is that fremont/synthetic indigo dye.

anyway--i got constant struggles synthetic selvage rachels tag size 24 (down two from my true) with actual waist around 28.5''+ which would fit me..........if there was some kind of stretch to get the pants past my hips. :|

also...i felt comfortable getting these even tho they're tag size 24 because of the selfedge site..........just sayin.

  11. he's been getting random infractions if i remember correctly.

still...what a petty reason to ban three people over. who cares if the other forum bashes heavily on superfuture and wayne. i thought superfuture were the self-proclaimed adults in this spat...

  12. the plastic sheets combined with the heavy drapes and a space heater at night works well in my room -- which gets no heat and has a window leak. but when the space heater is off it's cold where i need a jacket to be in there still...but there's no draft.

and thanks darkanimal--i didn't know sistersuzie made those, so much better than a towel.

  13. joey thunder tan size 31 *COPIES* from korea

my copies i got just cuz i wanted the color, you can tell an a77 copy by:

the back tag is more papery than fabric, the butt pocket tag is fluffy leather and the logo is obviously painted via a quick stencil and falls off quite quickly, but the dead give-away is on the side tag it has misspelled words in the copywrite notice.

the guitar pick is also weird, its been lamenated with a tortoise shell color cheaply.

the fit is actually right on with a77 and the fabric is actually decent IMO.

    thanks for the info--

if you can be bothered could you type out the tag and its misspellings--or even take a picture of the tag? heck--can you maybe do a photocomparisson of the copy with an authentic pair?

  14. bodum is closed from saturday to tuesday this week, i was planning on stopping by too, oh well

bodum was open yesterday but all they had left were envelops, tea spoons, wicker baskets, about 15 plates and a glass cup... hahaha.

  15. just tried on their unisex selvedge slim--had a lot of specs which is funny to see all on one jean in person. the denim was sturdy and slick. the price (240usd) is the same as my Lindas.

the meatpacking store staff are a really friendly bunch. i'll prolly get a pair next (next?) year...heh.

they also had a LOT of leather goods in the store, the jackets just looked like they were piled on top of each other in the back (not chaotic or messy just a ton of things), hah...the stuff i remember well is a very nice well-oiled(?) black leather jacket they just got made... beautiful thing but 2300usd. there was also a really beautiful women's leather shirt i definitely wanted...argh. i'm way too poor atm.

also the black OD jeans didn't feel or look like dickies imo.

  16. heh...bump for this.

just got a black fitted jacket from them on sale--cotton with leather weft (majority of the jacket is leather but you wouldn't know it unless you really looked at it...never heard of ddclab before i just sauntered into their store in the meatpacking dist.

  17. this is probably a habit folks who count money have (e.g. cashiers, foodservice ppls, bank tellers, etc)--when i'm sorting money they all have to have the faces the same way.

if i'm really nervous and have a piece of newspaper around i'll start to shred it somewhat mindlessly but each piece is roughly the same width.

if i notice, i always pause and think to myself, "mmm... it's 11:34." and if someone else is around i'll point it out to them. 11:34 = hell ...y'know, the way 53003 = boobs.

  18. hostels in paris are shit and overpriced and have some bullshit rules if i remember correctly..stay in a budget hotel. it's cheaper or the same price and ok ...this is what i did and ended up rooming with two kiwi girls (so its like a hostel anyway, i forget what it was called)--i do remember that there were a lot of decently rated cheap hotels near bastille (11eme Arr/marais). you could if you were really bored walk to the louvre, champs elysees or the major toursit and shopping spots in paris from marais/11eme Arr. I'm not rich, but everytime i've paid to sleep in Paris it was in this neighborhood.

also new year's in paris can be scary (beatdowns, drunks attacking ladies, thieves)...at least i remember the stories of more than a couple of other travellers that i met a week or two after dec31/jan1 in switzerland and france.
