  1. Yeah, the recut rumor is bull.

I have both an A/W 06 model and new A/W 07 model that I've been wearing that are identical. The only difference was the booklets and labeling they came with. The new A/W 07 models have a new oilcloth dollar bill tag that feels like thickly woven fabric covered in latex, vs. the older paperlike tags.

  2. I think those look great. But then again, I like unconventional garment construction and avant-garde design. And I'm getting sick of everyone's raw jeans looking the same. It's so boring. I've been rockin' the high-rise lately, too. They remind me of my unwashed '47 501's. I'm pretty small (28 waist) and therefore, they kind of sit like that in the top block. Cool find.

  3. Some of those early "Lady's Levi's" repo's should have PINK selvedge if I'm not mistaken.

Actually, the Lady Levi's Vault 501 has a yellow selvage denim. I got to check it out in the Flagship store last week. I had also met with the Levi's historian, Lynn Downey, earlier that day, and she told me that the pre-war Lady Levi's would have a yellow selvage.

  4. You guys should check out the latest season. The theme for Spring 2007 was "The Boat Rider, The Coach Rider, and The Rail Rider," garments which pay homage to the pioneers and those who distributed denim across the west when denim was new. They have a small sampling of it at the San Francisco flagship store. I just bought the Boatrider "Sailor Pants" in Khaki. They're marked down to about $49, though the retail was $420.

And as far as the first season of Collectibles (Butcher, Baker, and Candlestick Maker,) There were two jeans created for each concept, as well as one shirt in two colourways each. I happen to own three of the six jeans as well as the Butcher shirt.

  5. Anyone have price$ for these???

I know that each of the Vault pieces are priced at $501. The Deadstock 1947 501's are $175. The rest, I'm not sure about

    deadstock 505 yes!

but how come 47 agian & again?

The 1947 501 was the "introduction" of the modern blue jean, as we know it today. It's the post-war 501 and underwent some changes from the previous ones. The cinch buckle, for example, dissapeared during this era, and they started using a double-needle machine to stitch the arcuates, if I'm not mistaken. All the wartime rationing had been lifted, and they were also able to start using copper rivets on the coin pocket again.

  6. Has anyone seen the lineup for the new 07 A/W Levi's Vintage Clothing collection? I have the hangtag from the new season and it looks like the US is getting a large variety of fits in shrink-to-fit denim, different from the offering in Europe. Also coming is a complete women's line from their "Lady Levi's" line introduced in 1934.

Here's a list from the booklet:

    1937 Hacienda Vault I 501 Jean

1937 Timberman Vault II 501 Jean

    ???? Vault Coat (Rafter)

    1873 Vault 501 Jean (Deadstock)

    1933 501 Jean (Deadstock)

    1947 501 Jean (Deadstock)

    1966 646 Jean (Deadstock)

    ???? Chambray Shirt (Deadstock)

    ???? Batwing Tee (Black)

    1967 Type III Jacket (Deadstock)

    ???? 505 Jean (Deadstock)

    1915 J-Mark Chino

    1967 606 Jean (Customized Deadstock)

Vault 501 Jean Harriet (Lady Levi's)

    1950 Hi-Rise 501 Jean (Lady Levi's) (Deadstock)

    1947 Customized 501 Jean (Lady Levi's) (Deadstock)

    1967 Customized 606 Jean (Lady Levi's) (Deadstock)

???? Customized Type III Jacket (Lady Levi's) (Deadstock)

Let me know if anyone is interested in pics.

  7. Those had one rear pocket with a button flap. They were also all raw with a green selvage - some 100% cotton, and some of the early ones from 1999 had a cotton/hemp blend. You might be able to find some on eBay in good condition for a reasonable price.

  8. Levi's RED denim blazer from 2001 Autumn / Winter collection.

(This is a repost since the first buyer didn't come through.)

Really sweet one-button jacket made from a supersoft dark 13 oz. stretch denim with a viscose/acetate lining with a celestial star and moon print. Lapels are lined in fine black leather. Arms are cut like a motorcycle style jacket with curved seams for a better fit.

The theme for this collection was "Day/Night" which is reflected in the idea of this blazer, which is based on a traditional tuxedo jacket with casual jeans-wear features such as contrast topstitching in gold and purple and exposed rivets to highlight the conflict between a daytime and nighttime wearing occasion.

Jacket is missing a cufflink (which could be replaced by any cufflink.) Other than that, jacket is in new condition and was never worn.

Size LARGE (Could also fit medium)

    20" Pit-to-pit

    17.5" Sleeve
