  1. 6pm.com has a bunch of trickers at 50% off. They're still insanely expensive, but $420 is still less than $800...

Not bad although I believe those ones came up on Gilt Groupe a while back for about a hundred less. But not being a fan of the Ted Baker versions myself I think the best deal atm is regular Trickers for slightly less than $300 shipped from Pediwear (due to the current low pound).

  2. can someone post knee/hem measurements on a size 29?

it looked like someone asked pages ago but it wasnt answered and i would like to know too!

also i cant seem to find it through supermarket either

    thanks!

    knee 8.6 hem 8 on my 29x34s.

  3. Those stfs look good for the price but it's terrible how poorly they seem to hold their dye. I wonder what has changed with the modern stf and the dyeing process that makes them hold their color so poorly in comparison to older Levi's (or maybe modern washing machines are just better :)).

  4. Would you say the last pic is more representative of their real color? The full shots seem more blue blue to me while I see the green more in the last one. Also, it doesn't look like they really shrink much. Unless those are difference sizes they seem very similar after a wash. They look nice though, especially in the last picture.

  5. I've got few questions for anyone who knows much about the Valencia St. stuff. I'm looking at a pair of 1999 201s on ebay. Would the denim on the 99s be similar to the slubbier/greener denim (compared to the 501) like the newer ones have? Also has Levi's changed the cut of their repro 201 since then? I'm looking at size 30 and the seller says they've been washed but he's got the rise listed at 12 and the hem at 19 round (the waist is also 30 and the inseam is 35 which I guess makes me wonder if the shrinkage is all out). That seems a little big to me for a size 30 but I guess I don't know the 201 cut well. These are made in US but were sold in Japan it seems, so I'm not sure if that would make any difference.

Anyway, as far as I can tell they look legit.

  6. This came in the mail today from Vari. Pretty pleased with it overall.

A quick fit pic I shot,

I'm kind of surprised the coat is as long as it is for a size 38. I think it works for me since I'm 6ft but I'm not sure how it'd fit on shorter Japanese dudes.

  7. Good info, thanks man. Unfortunately the standard width in stows is no good for me, it's the way the tongue is folded and stitched into the shoe that digs right in to me. I can always size up a half though I suppose.

Why not go custom Malton then? I looked into that before I picked up my Stows but wasn't sure if it was worth the extra 150 or so for a wider width that I "might" not need (although my Stows were a little tight in the toebox initially they have thankfully stretched out to a comfortable after about a week). But when I talked to them it seemed like they could do the Malton in about any leather for a custom pair (I was looking into black at the time).
