6pm.com has a bunch of trickers at 50% off. They're still insanely expensive, but $420 is still less than $800...
Not bad although I believe those ones came up on Gilt Groupe a while back for about a hundred less. But not being a fan of the Ted Baker versions myself I think the best deal atm is regular Trickers for slightly less than $300 shipped from Pediwear (due to the current low pound).

Those stfs look good for the price but it's terrible how poorly they seem to hold their dye. I wonder what has changed with the modern stf and the dyeing process that makes them hold their color so poorly in comparison to older Levi's (or maybe modern washing machines are just better ).

Bump for one last price drop.

One thing I've noticed about pre-50s styles is that you'd often see people wearing sportcoats with very casual work clothes. I really like how that worked sometimes. Nowadays if you said you're going to wear a sportcoat over a pair of overalls people would probably you find you sartorially mad but I really dig the look. Like this for example,

That's crazy. I think that might be even less shrinkage than I got from one hot soak with my so called "sanforized" Lee hair on hides

Would you say the last pic is more representative of their real color? The full shots seem more blue blue to me while I see the green more in the last one. Also, it doesn't look like they really shrink much. Unless those are difference sizes they seem very similar after a wash. They look nice though, especially in the last picture.

I've got few questions for anyone who knows much about the Valencia St. stuff. I'm looking at a pair of 1999 201s on ebay. Would the denim on the 99s be similar to the slubbier/greener denim (compared to the 501) like the newer ones have? Also has Levi's changed the cut of their repro 201 since then? I'm looking at size 30 and the seller says they've been washed but he's got the rise listed at 12 and the hem at 19 round (the waist is also 30 and the inseam is 35 which I guess makes me wonder if the shrinkage is all out). That seems a little big to me for a size 30 but I guess I don't know the 201 cut well. These are made in US but were sold in Japan it seems, so I'm not sure if that would make any difference.
Anyway, as far as I can tell they look legit.

This came in the mail today from Vari. Pretty pleased with it overall.
A quick fit pic I shot,
I'm kind of surprised the coat is as long as it is for a size 38. I think it works for me since I'm 6ft but I'm not sure how it'd fit on shorter Japanese dudes.

Wow, I thought my Hawaii's were coming along. I like how irregular the fading on Hawaiis is.

No. Thigh measurements on SCs can be misleading because they don't take into account all the excess denim in the back due to the anti-fit seat.

I assume he's talking the 130xj (which was also an 06 model).

Good info, thanks man. Unfortunately the standard width in stows is no good for me, it's the way the tongue is folded and stitched into the shoe that digs right in to me. I can always size up a half though I suppose.
Why not go custom Malton then? I looked into that before I picked up my Stows but wasn't sure if it was worth the extra 150 or so for a wider width that I "might" not need (although my Stows were a little tight in the toebox initially they have thankfully stretched out to a comfortable after about a week). But when I talked to them it seemed like they could do the Malton in about any leather for a custom pair (I was looking into black at the time).

They look 10x better
I don't find them all that much better looking, plus they're like 2x the cost and are not usually available in sizes larger than 9.5. As a size 11.5 I'll stick with American work boots.

fit on the 1108 looks like the WH660's, right?
is the batch that just arrived 0105's and 1108's, or just 1 model?
1108s are slimmer in the thighs according to BiG's measurements.

I was browsing ebay when I came across these vintage Katahdins(?). I think the patina is just incredible.
But too small for me as usual

Price drop to $175 shipped in the US.

Salaami's pocket looks pretty stressed from whatever it is he's carrying. I haven't had any front pocket problems with my SC Hawaii's at 6 or 7 months of wear now, but I never carry things in my front pocket either.

If you mean these, I believe so.
