I would recommend the 45rpm Sorahikos. The rise is a bit lower than any of the jeans that you've mentioned. In my opinion, it just sits better on the ass. And if you like to sag. The one-wash doesn't shrink at all. I haven't had any experience with the raw, but I think you can take the same precautions as any other raw denim. 1 or 2 sizes up, but of course, every jean is going to react differently.
The fabric is pretty amazing. And I believe it's going to wear out beautifully. This is probably my second favorite pair, Fullcount being my number 1.

Doubt they are fakes. Who would want to bootleg a brand as "unpopular" as 45rpm?

Miz, definitly the BK's. They are tough as hell to wear out, for the hikes, but also being black, perfect for the club. Have a good trip.

I think that body type has a lot to do with wether you should cuff or not. Sometimes, on a short wide person, cuffs can make that person look even shorter and wider. So I think it depends on the person and the cut of the jean.

Can't seem to remember off the top of the dome… But not much of a reader anyway. I really enjoy a good trashy novel once in a while.

There's too many to name, but kinda dig Japanese denim brands. (How original…)

I guess thats why it's cheaper to hop on a plane to Japan to go shopping. Thank you Neilfuji for your imformative posts. Hopefully the business end of the garment industry doesn't taint the passion of the denim enthusiasts.

It's all good. Ever since Evisu hit the mainstream, the bootlegging quota has gone up, like any other brand that becomes popular. I think its cool to rock fake stuff, as long the seller doesn't pretend that the product is real and consequently ripping off the customer. You can get a fake Rolex for 15$. I think fake Evisu should also be priced accordingly. A No. 2 pair of Evisu jeans is about $160 dollars. So I think to be fair, a fake one should be about 80 cents.

I disagree that women have an easier time shopping than men. A man can walk into a decent men's store and leave with something that will fit them and look good. Men can shop faster too, because the clothes come in a wider range of sizes with more specific measurements.
IMO Women should get more tailored clothing than men. When they don't get tailored clothing it's like putting a circle in a square. Although men look good in tailored clothing, the average silhouette can be squarish and still look good on a guy.
In regards to selvedge denim, even larger guys can cop a pair. Some Japanese companies even make a size 44, although most guys in Japan don't wear size 44.

This topic will be started by my lady friend. I'm not responsible for anything she says.
I enjoy reading everyone's posts. Over the past few months I have gained a new respect for denim, the folks who make it and the folks who rock it. But I'm sooooo damn jealous. What's the deal with selvedge sexism?! Raw selvedge is a canvas to express your style. Is there any selvedge for women, or are we doomed to drown and wash away in a sea of overpriced crap?

Tenchi, I am unfamiliar with Evisu denim from China. As far as I know, the No.2 grade Evisu denim is only made in Japan. I think No.3 denim is made in Italy, without selvedge. At some point Evisu entered a licensing agreement with a company in Hong Kong. Those leather patches have no grade stamp. I'm sure there are other members here who know more about this.
Broady, do you know if your Evisu jeans have selvedge?

Well it's been open for awhile. I actually never saw it either till recently. I have a friend that works around there, and he walks up and down that block everyday, never noticing it for months untill I told him about it. I think it has the most LVC stuff out of all the store in Manhattan, which is not that much. But it sells out fast, and I'm not sure if they ever restock. The staff is spotty, depending on who you speak with. The rest of the store is more of the same you would expect from any other Levi's store.

I second that. Definitly wear when drying. And definitly soak before hemming, so you can allow for shrinkage of the size of the inseam.

Hey, if the store was selling them as real, then maybe you should get your money back. The black waist size label is a dead giveaway. The waist size and inseam length should be printed on inside cotton label. And underneath that it should be printed "MADE IN JAPAN" The red flag label should also say "EVISU". Finally, the rivets should say "Japan" in Japanese, not "EVISU". It's kind of messed up for a store to fake out their customers like that. People expecting to get some great denim that will last a lifetime, end up getting some denim that will maybe last 3 days. You might as well get some Levi's STF's for 30$.

Erm… Getting hard to remember, 'cause I like to rotate 'em.
3) SC47
2) Some RRL's
1) Samurai 5000Vx
I actually change jeans everyday. Guess I'm not that hardcore denim head.

Without a doubt, 120% fake. But like the rest of these posters, if you like 'em, then you should rock 'em.

Newbie question. Why is the 3rd type denim jacket the best selling, most worn and copied version? Just wanted to see if there is a reason, being that almost everyone I see on the street that is wearing a denim jacket, is rcoking that version. Thank you.

Samurai's have a bit better construction, but it's like saying a Benz is made a little better than a BMW. They are both incredible quality denim. The No.1's actually shrink like crazy so make sure to size up a little.
