  1. I had a bit of a surprising/frustrating Outlier experience a little while ago. I've been hesitant about posting about it because I feel genuinely supportive of Outlier and don't want to talk shit, but decided that ultimately transparency trumps all.

I'd had a pair of the oldschool Workwear pants for a couple years which had stretched out (and I think I'd shrunk a bit), so when the email came out that they'd be raising prices, I decided it was time for a re-up. Being - as we all are - neurotic about sizing, I ordered two sizes of 60/30s and two sizes of New OGs, figuring I'd keep the pair that fit best.

I tried on all four when they arrived, and was leaning towards a pair of New OGs when I looked down while seated and discovered a half-dollar sized hole in the crotch seam. I'd done nothing more than stroll around my apartment so I was pretty surprised and disappointed. To make matters weirder, when I tried on one of the pair of 60/30s, I felt something prick my leg. Upon flipping the pants inside out after taking them off, I found a staple sewn into the outseam!

The person I corresponded with at Outlier was gracious enough to offer an 11% discount (I'm intrigued by why 11), but I haven't really been able to reconcile myself to purchasing again given what seem to me to be pretty glaring quality-control oversights.

  2. ^looking good, dude!

That shop apron is 11/10 as well.

For real, man. Raul LOVES that thing, and it shows. Next time I'm in there I'll try to remember to get pictures. And we should put his shop on the list of places to visit when you're in town!

Do you recall what product he used for the edges?

We actually didn't treat the edges with anything special - just cleaned them and then treated them with a neutral creme. Everything we used was Saphir.

Brand new with tags Levi's Vintage Clothing "Biker Jacket" in "Washed Black." Inspired by Brando's character in The Wild One, and done phenomenally well. Retails for $985, if you can even find it! Beautiful thick leather, with front and hidden rear map pockets. Size large. I also have a medium available - see my other auction

Measurements form the outside of the jacket (the leather is thick, so it obviously fits smaller than these measurements suggest):

    Chest 25"

    Waist 21.75"

Length from base of collar to bottom of back 25"

    Shoulders 20"

Sleeve - from the seam on top of shoulder (outside corner) straight down to the bottom of the cuff: 24.5"

One in medium, one in large, both on ebay:

The price tag fell off in transit, but I assure the jacket has never been worn - in fact the plastic tabs that held the price tag are still in place.

Measurements form the outside of the jacket (the leather is thick, so it obviously fits smaller than these measurements suggest):

    Chest 23"

    Waist 19.75"

Length from base of collar to bottom of back 26"
