  1. checking in from East Village

    between 1st and ave a

the mexican lady at zaragosa was tellin me about how the garbage floated everywhere last time it flooded in east village.

16th and 1st ave right here.

  2. i live on 1st ave and did a few precautionary things. got water, food and filled up the bathtub so i can still flush the toilet in case water gets cut off.

dont know if im overreacting, but better safe than sorry. real tired of hearing ppl including my roommates who claim "it wont be that bad" when they dont know anything about weather. just seems like stupid arrogance.

  3. nobody thinks CP is making shoes for $5. just that the shoe itself hasnt changed at all but is now more than twice the cost of a few years ago.

its hard to take you seriously when you make definitive statements and then say things like they are "probably making a tiny margin."

i love my pair of achilles btw. got them for $200 3 yrs ago and still wear them.

  4. and i thought the HK markups were high!

also surprised there werent any FBTs as theyre probably the most iconic visvim design. i think the sneakers were about $500.

didnt know he was only there setting up yesterday. guess i picked a good day to go.

  5. im sure theyll get there soon enough. theyre heavily expanding in nyc at the moment. a few pop up shops, sponsoring a roller rink at the high line, and 3 more stores to open on top of the OG location on bway.

  6. stopped by bergdorf today to see the visvim section next to the shoe dept. they have the new virgils, patrician WT, foleys, a weld shirt, social sculpture denim jkt, chinos, hi water chinos, social sculpture raw and washed jeans.

surprised there was no backpacks as i imagine its one of the easier things to sell.

oh yeah, everything is essentially 2x the japan retail. virgils were $1430. patricians were $1400. foleys were $1100. denim jkt was $1000+.

  7. i appreciate the knowledge being dropped re: high end food, but that level of cooking treats food a little too precious for me.

have a reservation for bo ssam on 15th so im excited to see if Chang's food is worth the hype. on sales rep dime too!

  8. i ride daily in nyc. its my favorite thing to do in the city. cars can be dicks, esp cabs.

its definitely more of a rush than the wide open roads of suburbia. always gotta be on lookout for cars, ppl, potholes.
