  1. i'm actually keen on seeing the photos like Tarmac says - a good and decent pair of bootcuts are hard to find these days.

I really like the RRL slim bootcut and think it would appeal to a lot of people here.

I know people hate on me for having a lot of pre-washed denim but I'm all for variety. Sometimes I want something tight, sometimes loose, sometimes straight, sometimes bootcut. I own levis 646 repros which I love and those have MUCH bigger bootcuts than zathan. I'm all for the wear-what-you-like mentality but I'm also for the wear-what-looks-good mentality and the fact of the matter is that bootcut jeans kind of balance out my frame. Tapered jeans would make me look funny and so I dont wear them. I have to admit to having some of my more-flared diesels tapered in a little bit but not to the point that they are straight leg. But that said some people like the big flare and I aint mad at em.

For the record, zathan is really not all that drastic of a bootcut.

  2. Is there anyone with experience with the S0120XJ model? I'm interested because it seems that stores stock my size (38 or 40, which is amazing considering that in most US brands I wear 36)... Is it one wash or raw? If they're raw, do you think I can risk getting the smaller size and then wearing them in the tub to shrink?

  3. followed the 2 size down rule here man i coudnt even freaking button up the last 2 button ims till wearing the freaking jeans i coudnt eat when im wearing it feels like puking..anyways been wearing it for around 18 hours total but i estimate around 1/4 inch stretch how long should i wear this freaking jeans?

I normally wear a 36 or 38 and got rescues in 35 and when I first put them on I could only button the lowest button. After just two days they're already approaching comfy.

  4. Just got my rescues for like $100. Got size 35 which actually fit. Couldn't button the buttons at first but about 5 mins of stretching around in them and they button up nice. I've never seen 100% cotton denim that is SO stretchy. What's up with that?

  5. The seller only has 6 feedbacks and has some REALLY shady gstar auctions eg

    http://cgi.ebay.com/G-STAR-06-07-mens-low-rise-loose-denim-Jeans-W-34-L-32_W0QQitemZ150079657824QQihZ005QQcategoryZ11483QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Avoid dealing with china and ebay at all costs. I cant tell you how many times I've sold something that ended up being purchased by a less-than-5-feedback bidder in china who pays with paypal and an unconfirmed address even tho I say I dont accept that in my auctions. Every time I've opened a nonpaying bidder ticket and every time the bidder has gone NARU within 3 weeks.

  6. Do the 811s fit a lot tighter than the tagged size? I was looking at the measurements online and most websites say that the waist measurement on the size 36 is something crazy like 87cm. The one which is like 95-100cm which is what I'd need is a size 40 which just seems insane...

  7. It sounds like it might be a translation kind of thing too. I bet in german or french they call them something like fishnets and it just get mangled on the way over to english...

  8. The denim on all of the cheaper PBJs (XX-003/XX-004/XX-005) is the same. The XX-006 is no slubby, so don't look at that one. I believe the denim on the Oni's is the same too, so just pick whichever fit works for you.

    XX-005 for skinny low rise

    XX-004 for skinny boot cut

    Oni Blue/XX-003 for regular

    Oni Red for relaxed

    All available at www.blueingreensoho.com

I think the 005 and 006 are made of the same denim. I didnt see any obvious differences last time I was at BiG

  9. @seanfromiran : Who do you contact re: sizing questions? I've tried the CS number and email and they don't seem to know anything about the products, only about ordering, shipping etc.

They wont answer sizing questions, basically. The customer service people are in a completely different location than the warehouse (items in the US are shipped from seacaucus, NJ and frequently need to be shipped from the warehouse in italy before coming to the US) so they have no way to answer that kind of question.

EDIT: they do, however, have a great return policy. They ship you pre-paid return postage and will refund all of your money if you return less an $8/per item restocking fee. I've been buying from them for years and have always had good experiences.

  10. im in australia melbourne wanting to buy normal 501xx stf not lvc.

their hard to get in australia.

preshrunk 501's are around $150aud which is around $120usd cool huh?

i tried ebay but cant find any my size. im looking for a 29x34.

so yeah could someone nice pick me up a new pair from the shops.

    there around 35$usd there ?

I'll get you one from NYC if you want. I think they're likme $40 + tax. PM me if you're interested.

  11. you must have skinny legs, cause the PBJs run pretty tight in thigh area. samurais aren't quite as tight as PBJs in the legs, but close. it would really suck not being able to wear japanese made jeans, because they are so nice.

I dont know that I have "skinny" legs per se, but I am one of the few guys I know in size 36/38 who can wear zathans...

My PBJ's are 006s which actually looked pretty silly in the store but when I tried on a one-wash model that gordon just happened to have in the store in the same size I really like the cut so I took home the raw pair and did a hot soak and so far have been very pleased with the results. I think part of the problem with these unsanforized jeans is that what-you-see-is-not-what-you-get when you're trying them on. The fit fundamentally changes when you get them wet that first time so even when trying them on you can't be sure of a good fit... I wish BiG carried more one-wash models
